My dude,I’ve been trying to chase this exact problem for a few months now. I’m so glad u made this video,I’ve been searching and searching for any possible answers or leads
Good job brother ,keep up the good work. my nephew's car would stall. All of a sudden, whenever he hits bumps. It would Turn off.. it turned out to be a loose ground wire.✌️💙🏇🏇🏇🏇
Thank you. My 02 Silverado 2wD 1500 4.8L is stalling only at start ups where it’s been sitting over night or more then an hour. No matter how long I warm it up. It will drive okay at 5 mph. But if it gets to 3rd gear at slow mph & within 10 mins of turning truck on. I could be driving around 10 or 15 mph & truck will just die. At the next start up, I’ll floor gas pedal, truck will fire back up. I’ll Rev it a few until idle stabilizes and doesn’t die. And then the truck will be good to drive. Won’t die. But always dies at some point in the 1st 10 to 15 mins.
Have a 01 S-10. 4 cylinder. It kept hesitating and wanting to stall out. Our mechanic had it for a month couldn’t figure it out. I went to Lowe’s bought 2, 1 gallon of mineral spirits. Poured the whole gallon in the tank when it had about an 1/8 of a tank. Ran it until almost empty. Poured the second gallon in filled up with 93 octane ran the snot out of it. No more rough running or wanting to stall.
Since gm came out with vortec injection late 95 the after market parts just dont cut the mustard,,so he's exactly right dont try the aftermarket stuff because you'll chase the problems to death go original gm equipment or forget it
Good video, however you forgot to mention camshaft sensor. Was fighting a stalling issue for over 3 months. Truck would idle drive just fine until it got to operating temp then truck would just cut off. Turns out my cam sensor connection pigtail had exposed wires. Clipped out old one & replaced pigtail connection only & stall is gone!
Hi Matt my name is evert recently I’ve been watching your videos and I have learn a lot but i have a question for you have you seen or fixed a 03 Chevy Silverado quadraster running on propane ?
Hi. I was driving my 01 chevy silverado 1500 w/5.3L, today. The power surged up a few times, then cut off . I cranked it up, drove on , then it cut off a few times at yield sign.i cranked it back up , and drove a short ways, then it cut off at a store. After coming out of store, it hasn't cut off anymore, but it concerns me that it could happen again when i am on a long trip. What do you think it could be?
Do they do make an electric throttle body for the earlier denalis and escalades... It doesn't have trash control looks different I have 02 Denali... I'm pretty sure I need intake manifold gaskets... Whistle noise on acceleration and hissing in engine bay... Unless it's a/c but I just charged it and did the shroder valves and still cold
Rough Country 3" lift knuckles and 1" metal coil spacers under the coils. Can't remember exactly how thick they are though. I did a lot of measuring to get them level.
So i have a 2004 suburban 4wd with the 5.3 just fixed an oil leak and now its stalling, if i accell too fast which really doesnt take much it stalls and cuts all engine power for a sec or if i try to go above 2k rpm sometimes i can get it anove 2k but then it will not go above 3k. Also it can rev all the way to redline in park without stalling.
I’ve been having this really weird problem after I cleaned my throttle body on my 2006, I did an Idle relearn and it continues to drop Rpms to about 300 when I come to a stop in drive, or sometimes the idle will surge bad or stall when coming to a complete stop, I’ve cleaned the MAF, retightened the throttle body, no codes, no reported misfires, I’m really at a loss
Mine dies when I do frequent stops. Starts but is rough doesn’t smell like gas once I’m out n the highway runs good had a problem with my distributor and rotor cap had that replaced ran good for like a year smelled a lot like gas before having that replaced. Now I feel it’s getting to much air. But like I said once I’m on the highway runs like a champ. Any idea what sensor
I have a 04 5.3 Chevy 270k on it. I was handed it as it was getting junked by my father. I took it on as a DIY prj.. got a new battery and it kicked right on. Alot of white smoke im thinking a (blown head gasket) .. i cleaned the throttle body and that made it run in idle longer but soon as i rev the engine the car stalls. Ive noticed with the intake tube off the butterfly valve on the throttle body does not open even after cleaning... idk if thats from not relearning or just damaged. This weekend i was going to replace the throttle body, hoping this is why it keeps stalling. Also i replaced the crankshaft sensor (did not relearn) as the codes i get right now are all related to Coolant sensor and Crankshaft Sensor. PLEASE HELP
I have a question I have a 01 silverado 5.3 when I first turn it on and give it a little gas sometimes it will stall but if I let it warm up and then drive it for a minute it won’t stall out usually only does it when it’s cold or been sitting a while no check engine light or anything no warnings lights pop up
I replaced the camshaft positioning sensor and the iac and my low idle at startup, stalling when braking, non starts for 2-3 turns of ignition.. i have a 2001 silverado w/4.8.
@@MattsShop Appreciate the reply. 2005 model here. Found my rough idle problem last night. My plug wires on the passenger side basically rotted from heat and one was totally broken thus no fire in that cylinder. Plan to clean the throttle body and maf next while I’m at it as neither can hurt.
@@MattsShopWell my new plugs and wires did t fix it. It’s still just running hair rough when it’s co Ing to a stop or when I let off the brake on flat ground and it begins to roll. Idle is fine at standstill so it’s only from a load. No check engine light or misfire codes.
I changed all those sensors and then some. 08 5.3 silverado continues to stall. Shops won't run a check without a Check Engine light. Replaced O2 sensors, Mass air flow sensors, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, Throttle position sensor, fuel pump, and spark plugs. Truck runs smooth until warmed up and then hesitation ensues followed by stalls. Coolant is 210 and steady. Transmission shifts smoothly but when hesitating, feels like Transmission is loose. Need help!
My truck is turning off inbetween drive and Reverse often hear backfires when going from park to drive and loud clangs which sounds like drive shaft when going park to Reverse Previous owner of the truck says something about a Gasket but i dont think this is gasket 😂 any ideas on how screwed i am here i dont have much mechanical knowledge this was my fathers truck who recently passed away im at a point where i really dont k ow what to do or where to start and i dont have enough people i can ask for help pretty much on my own here and i cant afford let alone do i trust anyone else to do the work for me
Best case scenario its the gear selector switch on the side of the transmission. Worst case scenario its something internal. There is a neutral safety switch on the side for the 4L60E that can cause that.
My 2002 Camaro with the LS1 stalls in warm weather after it’s hot and turned off them on again and begin driving feels like the gas has vaporized in the line and stumbles or stalls 😢

A dirty throttle body im my minor experience causes a screwed up idle an stalling also,,,dude your videos rock thanks
Yea, these throttle bodies always get dirty with black oily soot. Thanks!
My truck use to stall and say engine power reduced I fixed all these parts and it ended up being the knock sensors 🤘🏽
Those knock sensors alwas call reduced engine power.
Thanks for the informative video. Gonna replace the sensors next time
You're welcome!

Leaky fuel lines... Casuse p0300 on highway abd throwing fuel pressure regulator codes... But runs great... Already ordered steel braided kit
My throttle body went bad causing truck to go into limp/low power mode. Forget the code but a new throttle body fixed all that. 04 6.0L
Those DBW go bad and then it will throw a code for sure, but if the DBC won't throw a code. It's all the other sensors.

Could you make a video on fuel problems on these trucks ?! Very helpful man
Love mine 05 6.0 but I really do despise no fuel filter except on the fuel pump grrrrr!
What kind of little scope is that Matt? Which one you recommend?
It's called a DSO nano, but it's really old. I'd just get the best one on Amazon right now with a big enough screen.
