Since gm came out with vortec injection late 95 the after market parts just dont cut the mustard,,so he's exactly right dont try the aftermarket stuff because you'll chase the problems to death go original gm equipment or forget it
Good video, however you forgot to mention camshaft sensor. Was fighting a stalling issue for over 3 months. Truck would idle drive just fine until it got to operating temp then truck would just cut off. Turns out my cam sensor connection pigtail had exposed wires. Clipped out old one & replaced pigtail connection only & stall is gone!
Rough Country 3" lift knuckles and 1" metal coil spacers under the coils. Can't remember exactly how thick they are though. I did a lot of measuring to get them level.
Do they do make an electric throttle body for the earlier denalis and escalades... It doesn't have trash control looks different I have 02 Denali... I'm pretty sure I need intake manifold gaskets... Whistle noise on acceleration and hissing in engine bay... Unless it's a/c but I just charged it and did the shroder valves and still cold
I have a 04 5.3 Chevy 270k on it. I was handed it as it was getting junked by my father. I took it on as a DIY prj.. got a new battery and it kicked right on. Alot of white smoke im thinking a (blown head gasket) .. i cleaned the throttle body and that made it run in idle longer but soon as i rev the engine the car stalls. Ive noticed with the intake tube off the butterfly valve on the throttle body does not open even after cleaning... idk if thats from not relearning or just damaged. This weekend i was going to replace the throttle body, hoping this is why it keeps stalling. Also i replaced the crankshaft sensor (did not relearn) as the codes i get right now are all related to Coolant sensor and Crankshaft Sensor. PLEASE HELP
@@MattsShop yessir I think it was ONLY the L59 that had it starting in 02 but then the LM7 didn't get it until 03 like you said, but hell yea I love my drive by wire I have it tuned so it idles like 50rpm higher by my tuner and she runs good!
So i have a 2004 suburban 4wd with the 5.3 just fixed an oil leak and now its stalling, if i accell too fast which really doesnt take much it stalls and cuts all engine power for a sec or if i try to go above 2k rpm sometimes i can get it anove 2k but then it will not go above 3k. Also it can rev all the way to redline in park without stalling.

My truck use to stall and say engine power reduced I fixed all these parts and it ended up being the knock sensors 🤘🏽
Those knock sensors alwas call reduced engine power.
My throttle body went bad causing truck to go into limp/low power mode. Forget the code but a new throttle body fixed all that. 04 6.0L
Those DBW go bad and then it will throw a code for sure, but if the DBC won't throw a code. It's all the other sensors.
A dirty throttle body im my minor experience causes a screwed up idle an stalling also,,,dude your videos rock thanks
Yea, these throttle bodies always get dirty with black oily soot. Thanks!
My '03 Silverado kept stalling at idle, all due to a dirty throttle body.
Yup, if the throttle body is bad it will stall at idle for sure.

Yea, those can cause problems too, but I just included the most popular ones in this video.
@@MattsShop good deal appreciate the info!
What about stalling only in reverse? Never in drive or just idling.
Could you make a video on fuel problems on these trucks ?! Very helpful man
Love mine 05 6.0 but I really do despise no fuel filter except on the fuel pump grrrrr!
What kind of lift kits did you do on your 2rwd ? Silverado ? I like the look/want that look on mine 2rwd stock level.

What kind of little scope is that Matt? Which one you recommend?
It's called a DSO nano, but it's really old. I'd just get the best one on Amazon right now with a big enough screen.
If your truck has problems starting up after it’s warmed up, but no problems starting up from cold then replace the fuel pressure regulator
Amsoil power foam , once year
That 8.1 is a carbon machine... It will put carbon soot marks on the snow. Had 01 2500HD regular cab

5:29 love mini scope want same where can I purchase?
It's called a DSO nano, but they sell much better ones online now.

My 2002 L59 came with drive by wire, I guess I'm lucky lol
Really?? You did get lucky. The DBW is better. More refined and a better idle.

It doesnt throw any codes though, any ideas?
99 chevy silverado 1500 4.8 stalls when I brake
2004 Sierra 5.3 would stall at a stoplight ended up replacing intake gasket because of a vacuum leak took care of it
