Nothing can fix a leaking head gasket but a new head gasket. Anything you can pour into the engine is a temporary bandaid at best

True. You shouldn't put that head gasket repair crap in your cooling system. If you only drive a few hundred miles a year or you're planning on driving your beater until it breaks then scrapping it, then I guess it would be a viable option. Personally I don't like rolling the dice every time I get in the car, so I just fix it the right way 😅

Can excessive burning of oil cause low temperature on the gauge at high speeds? Or vice versa if malfunctioning thermostat can cause the extra burning of the oil? The car is 2001 Saturn SL2, I maintain it very well, and it has only ~140K. I regularly change oil, like 2 years ago changed Spark Plugs, Valve Cover Gasket, and PCV Valve. I would appreciate any opinion on this matter. Thank you for a great film, I've never thought of a color of the smoke and corresponding problem.

White exhaust is also normal in below freezing temperatures as there is vapour from gasoline being being burned. It is visible when the air is cold like when you see your breath in cold air. Now if you see it in warm weather then there is a problem.

Head gasket sealer is not a permanent fix, and comes with its own issues (like clogging parts of the cooling system). Depending on how severe the leak is, it can work well enough as a "right now" temporary fix. Now, if it's not the head gasket, but something like a warped head, or cracked head or block, the engine is probably junk anyway, so might as well keep it going for as long as you can.

If it’s cold out the white smoke dosnt disappear it’s condensation from the hot exhaust gases and it’ll be present the entire time it’s cold outside. No different then your hot breath on a cold day. If the smoke is white and really thick that’s a blown headgasket that’s burning coolant. If the smoke is blue that’s oil being burned if the smoke is black that’s an engine that’s running rich to much fuel.

Blue smoke was also pretty common for old two-stroke cars like Trabant or Wartburg, since their engines run on a mixture of petrol and oil, which obviously produces the blue smoke. Though, these didn't use regular engine oil, these used so-called M2T oil, which is a type of oil specifically for being mixed with petrol in two-stroke engines.

That dpf system is completely bs...what they don't tell you about it is that we are blowing the same crap out as we were before. It is just smaller. Now you also are adsing all the chemicals from the def fluid. On top of thay when these trucks are going down highway and is in its regen status they areknown to blow hot embers out the exhauts tip and start fires. It is amazing how much cooler and how much efficient those diesels run when they have been deleted.

Too much fuel ( worn out injectors or over fuelling) or low compression. Usually the latter.

No, you should put hear gasket sealer or any type of stop leak in, unless you plan on scrapping the car soon.

White smoke can also get caused from unburnt fuel entering the exhaust.

You left out the use of E85 in Flexifuel engines which produce exhaust containing higher levels of water vapor and thus more steam.
