I don't know...I'm 38 and for as long as I can remember I was in the category explained in the vid: Wake up, poop, wait 30-45 minutes poop again. That got me to araund early afternoon when bloating really started and I usually had to go again. My diet was very high fiber as I love veggies. I just accepred it as my fate. For the last 3 weeks I cut out all the fiber and only went with meat, eggs, butter occasional cheese and a hand full of berries and the bloating is gone. Also I go once in the morning and that's it. I'm now moreconvinced than ever, that what works great for one person might be completely detremental for another especially in the world of nutrition.

This is backed up by some studies. Australian study showed that when they removed fiber from a constipated group, the constipation went away. Also large study showed people that ate high fiber had more cases of Diverticulosis.

Too much fiber isn’t good either, it’s been correlated with higher rates of colon cancer, probably due to causing more physical damage to the colon. All things in moderation.

I got rid of my chronic constipation of over 40 years simply by raising the levels of my stomach acid (betaine hcl, apple cider vinegar and cod liver oil capsules) and taking a broad spectrum of digestive enzymes. I also reduced the amount of fibre I ate. Now I can eat fibre again and reduce acid and enzymes. Magnesium (citrate and glycinate) did nothing for my constipation once I got used to it.

Relying on magnesium citrate to move your bowel or any laxative could theoretically lead to reduced motility and reliance long term. I take those to counter iron supplement constipation, but it's a trade off.
It's about finding the kind of fibre you can tolerate. I am great with fruit for eg but legumes and grains wreck me. Other people struggle with fruit. It depends on your biome. Movement is extremely important for gut motility. Especially twisting, squatting and folding movements which we used to get before sitting all day.

People are different. Some people have their constipation and IBS symptoms relieved by diminishing or eliminating fiber. Bulsiewicz is a a modern -day PT Barnum. And he is very good at that! Humans can fortunately survive on many different types of diets, but some humans do better on one diet as opposed to another. A ketogenic diet has allowed me to lose 50 pounds and eliminate my need for any medicines to control my blood pressure or my blood sugar. It has increased my HDL from 42 to 60 and reduced my Triglycerides from 150 to 60. My LDL has gone up. I have had fatty liver since 2008 but ALT and AST are now 24 and 19 and my GGT is 11. hs CRP is toward the low end of normal. Beyond that, all of my Seasonal Affective Disorder symptoms which have been present since I was quite young have vanished. I admit that my walking program is likely responsible for some of my good numbers. I have walked an average of 4 miles a day for 21 months.

So this doc first talks about 2 types of magnesium (more like magnesium compounds, because the actual magnesium element is the same in all of them) stressing that only those with low to zero absorption help with bowel movements (by retaining water in the bowel lumen) and then jumps into the blood magnesium levels that can be measured and apparently are low in most Americans. But those are obviously not influenced by the magnesium that can't/isn't absorbed and is helping with the motility of the bowel contents. Someone is confused here.

What type of magnesium test does Dr. Will Bulsiewics refer to?
I only know two types: serum and urine magnesium levels.
Though I'm not sure about the accuracy of those since most of the magnesium is in our cells, at least as I understood form many different sources.

Magnesium and fiber do NOT address the underlying cause of constipation. Constipation is caused by some type of microorganism, whether it's mold, yeast, SIBO, H-pylori, parasites, and/or a virus. These pathogens end up lowering your body temperature, which cause a lack of enzymes to break down food, hence the constipation, which doctors will refer to as IBS. The FIRST thing anyone should do is test for all of these pathogens to see which one(s) you have, then treat that illness. Once that happens, you need to heal the gut (leaky gut) with colostrum or glutamine, depending on which your body tolerates better, and combine it with a good aloe. These supplements will NOT work until you've cleared the pathogens, since they can't fight though them and get to the wall of the gut. All magnesium and fiber will do is mask the problem. They don't fix the problem. This is the main problem with most medically trained GI doctors. They have no idea of the actual cause of digestive issues and how to fix them on a causal level.

@@lookfeelbehealthy6320 even if that were true it doesn't mean the toxicity is local to where the symptoms occur. The toxicity may not even involve that system. Regardless, your statement is not true because there absolutely are genetic mutations and combinations that manifest as a condition or disease. It's not toxicity that causes down syndrome or cerebral palsey, you should know, you have the former. That's a joke, but for real that is why I don't agree with the absolute nature of what you're saying. I only go as far as toxicity is underappreciated as a root cause for many diseases and conditions. Also I believe cancer is a metabolic disease stemming from mitochondria damage preventing celular respiration and then mutating to ferment for energy instead of respirate. This damage to the mitochondria though could be caused by anything. It could be from toxicity or it could a result of trauma from a car accident. How the cell was damaged is irrelevant to cancer forming. Why? Because each instance of autophagy is a chance for cancer to form. It's simply the result of cell damage that causes cancer...of course other things must happen like the random mutation to fermentation to accommodate the inability to respirate. Normally that damage would kill the cell but laws of probability coupled with how many iterations of cell damage and repair occur mean cancer forming is inevitable and the causation is all encompassing not narrow and limited to toxicity.

I liken him to a Dr. Gundry who hustles info about leaky gut. Is leaky gut a real problem? Absolutely!!! My issue with guys like this and Dr. Gundry is that they economically gate keep some supposed secret, often exaggerated, extreme, or contrarian approach to a legit problem such as leaky gut, IBS or whatever. Keeping with the Gundry example, imo his marketing strategy is to fear monger as many common food items as he can. They do this knowing a fixed percent of ppl will bite because they think, "Oh no, I have tomatoes in my refrigerator; no wonder I have gut pain, lemme watch this free video ad". Then they are in the sales funnel for these jack asses and avoid eating everything under the sun. These guys need to exaggerate, etc, because they need extra secret food items on the avoid the list because why else would you pay for a known list of food items easily found free on the Healthline website or whatever. My point is real infomis free and ubiquitous today, and anyone repackaging that indo and selling is morally bankrupt.

if ur digestion is slow and u eat something sour (especially in the context of a diet that contains carbs/fiber) stuff FERMENTS LIKE CRAZY - ull notice this when u fart a lot
so yea ACV is often suggested by many ppl (allegedly "stomach acid fixes everything" right?) but if ur digestion for whatever reason is slow then acids r ur worst enemy

Variety of food is more important than anything. All the supplements are compensating for a lack of diversity. I can eat a box of Wheaties and get plenty of fiber and water, but I'll get constipated. But if I eat the same amount of fiber and calories but split it up among 5 different fruits, 5 different nuts, spring mix, various peppers, oatmeal, whole grain pasta, and some whole grain bread with 10 different grains and seeds, then the constipation goes away and the serotonin flows all day like a runner's high, seriously. Adding exercise on top of it makes it that much better.
I probably eat 25 different whole food sources of fiber a day, maybe 40 a week. I don't ask you to trust me, I just ask that you give it a try for a few months. Slowly introduce more sources. Don't go from 5 to 30 overnight or your gut will not like it. Drink plenty of water and do strength training, cardio, or both everyday in a manner that is challenging. It's not enough to eat oatmeal, an orange, and iceberg lettuce for your sources of fiber. Diversity is the key.

This is 150% true. But what's causing the problem with motility is MSG which is in mostly processed food! MSG depletes serotonin in the gut so the nerves that trigger the muscles of the intestines become spastic. Spastic colon so food will ferment and causes gas and boosting and chronic inflammation

Does anybody remember pop guns, you would put a cork in the end of a pipe and then you had a plunger in the other end and it would pop the cork out
That seem to be what was happening years ago when I ate multiple times a day. It's like a plug of food would push air through your system and move another plug of food so that you had air between them
Now that I only eat once a day, I have never had gas again
So it's my postulation that you have to have food still in your system from the last time you ate... Which is basically what this guy's saying

Stop eating sugar and grains. Those will mess you up more than most other things. Get exercise. Moving around, especially walking, absolutely gets the bowels working.
Magnesium is important and will certainly help, but guess what? Sugar and grains both deplete the body of magnesium!!!
Fiber is not needed in the human diet, though it can help as a temporary medicine to address constipation.

1000mg of magnesium just to keep your bowels moving? That's almost 3X the upper tolerable limit of magnesium supplementation based upon the Health Professionals Fact Sheet! I call Bulsiewics! I get that this doctor is part of a group that promotes a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. And I get that he wants to help his people overcome the almost constant farting associated with this lifestyle. But if your diet requires you to take a daily laxative, which is what you are taking when you take 1000mg of magnesium oxide, then maybe there is a problem with your diet. It's not magnesium deficiency. It's not magnesium depletion of the soil. It's your diet.

I didn't even watch the whole garbage video yet. I like Thomas, but this guest was terrible. In case he provided some other reason let me tell you what magnesium does. It draws water into the gut. This is why it relieves constipation. This is why when you take a little too much magnesium you have to run to the toilet. It's not relieving call inspiration because you're deficient in magnesium and now have it. If you're magnesium levels are good, and you take magnesium in a decent quantity you will get the runs. This is a terrible way to treat constipation and the reasons should be obvious so imma forgo them

Is it gas _and_ bloating that is correlated to constipation, or one or the other? Not trying to call myself out, but I have gas. I don't have bloating or constipation though. Intuitively, bloating seems like it would be gas that is not moving in your digestive tract, perhaps because constipation is blocking it. Some gas may still make an exit though. And gas without bloating would insinuate that everything is moving properly. I'm not convinced that gas is bad, and bloating seems to be a result of constipation and gas, not gas in itself.

I think the number 1 reason for constipation is caused by people not chewing their food properly, especially us men. We can take one bite of a hamburger or steak chew it two or three times and it's gone. We wake up the next day, and can't go to the bathroom like we want to because the stomach is working overtime to break down the meat. Next thing you know you're eating a big breakfast on top of the food that the bile is trying to breakdown. People don't watch how they eat and not even realizing you're just packing food, on top of food, on top of food. Then when your able to go you're stinking up the whole entire house with the smell of death. 🤢🤮 It's bad when you can smell a person through the bathroom door.

    Bloating is one thing.
    Gas is another.
Make the difference & separate the two.
Gas can definitely be caused by high nitrogen food. Call it constipation., or whatever you want. semantics.
But certain foods will cause more gas(constipation). Using your terminology.
    Too much B.S here

    • @Purple117
      @Purple117 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Gas does cause bloating though. Trapped gas with nowhere to go is just going to expand your belly. That’s not bs. What is bs is saying we need fiber, and that something that is indigestible heals the gut. I feel like since fiber isn’t digestible then we don’t really need it. That’s where he is lying.
