While watching this video again, I just noticed that you are left-handed, as am I. Being a lefty, have you encounted any"lefty" problems when annotating in forScore? If so, how did you overcome them? Here's what periodically happens to me: 1) Sometimes as I annotate, I get a smudge (annotation) mark from my palm resting on the screen. 2) As I rest my palm on the screen to annotate, I notice that a previous annotation disappears. 3) As my palm rests on the screen, it automatically switches to the previous tool I was using. I haven't found a solution to any of these issues. If you have, maybe you could help your fellow lefties by sharing these tips in future video.
Just watched this video. I'm new to forScore, but not to music. Your step-by-step approach is greatly appreciated. The video is very organized, informative, well paced, and extremely helpful. Got me up and running with annotations. Will check out your other forScore videos. New subscriber here. Hope you continue making more. Thanks
Elizabeth......I appreciate your work! My ipad and forscore are both quite new and your teaching is sorta dated. The app has changed so I'm hoping for an update from you. Thank you!
Hi Elizabeth, Hope this new year finds you well. I rewatched this great video on the basics and I was hoping you could confirm if the erase behavior can be changed to a mode that erases the entire pencil stroke at once instead of acting like a real eraser. I want to save time and avoid multiple pencil strokes to erase something. Much appreciated !!! Kind regards. Roman
Hi Roman, unfortunately I can’t find an option to edit the eraser besides its size. It’s unfortunate, because the stroke eraser in Goodnotes works so well! It would be a great addition to forscore. Thanks for watching!
I just started using Forscore and am impress with the app. Your video gave me an idea of using the stamp to create and place chords on lyrics. Is this the way to go or is there another option? Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Martin, so glad you enjoyed! We can only cut/copy/paste our own annotations in forscore. I’d love to see the feature expand to includes sections of the pdf though!
Thank you for the informative video but can and how would you save this document, with however many layers, as a PDF with all of the annotations that were made?
Glad you liked it! I export pdfs with annotations all the time in forscore! Go to the top bar, and tap on the three dots next to the title of your score. Then press the upload icon (the box with an up arrow), then choose annotation pdf. If you tap on the icon of the score, it'll just prompt you to share it. If you tap on the three dots on the icon instead, you can customize the pdf before you share, by editing how many pages are included and the aspect ratio. Then press share and it'll bring up the sharing options. I also have a short tutorial of this in my video on the forscore top bar. If you just search that in TH-cam, my video should pop up! The tutorial you'd be looking for is about a minute and 20 seconds in. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi Ricardo, when you’re in the stamps window, select the stamp you’d like to edit. Then press the three dots icon to the left of “Stamps”. From there, you can modify the look of the stamp, or import a photo. If you have a sample of the font you’d like, such as the number with a transparent background, I think you’d be able to import and use that!
Is it possible to write bar/chord/rhythm and eventually melodies in the app from the sketch? Or is it just a editable pdf reader? I'm looking for something in which I can write the repertoire I mostly figure by ear and use it to read live. Is there such a thing?
There are stamp tools you can use to create measures, clefs, time signatures, notes, etc. It's not super intuitive because they're literally just stamps that you place. But it's totally possible to import a pdf of staff paper (or a blank pdf) and write your own music on it!
Everything is just slightly different now, since I made this video two years ago, but after getting to the top bar, you can get the annotation tools by either tapping on the squiggly line icon (like a pen drawing - it’s the first icon on the right), or by just writing on the score with an Apple Pencil. Again, this bar looks just slightly different due to updates, but the previous/next page options are still there but look a little different. They’re now these type of symbols < > next to the checkmark at the top right. I hope this helps!
Yes I could've! I was just worried about potentially erasing something on a different page. Plus for some reason I just find erasing to be really satisfying haha 😊
I love this short and sweet style video! Sometimes forscore is a little confusing to use so I really appreciated this!
I'm so glad it was helpful for you! Let me know if there are any other forscore features you'd like me to take a look at!

Been using ForScore for almost a year and never knew you could make your own stamps.

great video. Q - how do you get rid of text? I added bits, as an experiment and now can't seem to delete it
Hello Elizabeth. Great video ! Can we cut copy and paste original section part of a pdf or only stuff that we write ? Merci !

@@ElizabethKnaub Thank you for your reply!
Hello. You know if I can name some how the flag in for score? When I put one flag on a page, I can name it?
I always put measure number on my scores. This is a very helpful in orchestra practice and takes a lot of time. Does foreshore number measures?
Hi Elizabeth, Could you please tell me if it's possible to change the default fonts used for the number stamps. Many Thanks!!!

I have forScore & I don’t have any of those features in first half of vid ..
I’m trying to follow from the very beginning and I can get the annotation bar but not the previous page or any of the icons at the top?

Argentina :D
5:39 - But you could have just chosen the Clear button (×) to avoid time-consuming erasing of handwritten notes. )
