    My wife is a cellist who plays in a couple of amateur orchestras. I bought her an iPad, Apple pencil, copy of forScore and a pedal page turner for Christmas. Neither of us had used an iPad, let alone forScore, before. I hate to think how we would have got everything set up and working without the aid of your video. You have managed to explain all the essentials perfectly in less that 15 minutes. Remarkable!

    Finally, a competent forScore user who knows how to write the name of this application correctly (with a small letter, always). What can't be said about some of the comments under this video.

    • @pianowithemma
      @pianowithemma  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Autocorrect usually changes the spelling of forScore, as it thinks the lowercase F is a mistake.

    • @Oleg__
      @Oleg__ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not that, people really write like that. Also, this auto-correction doesn't happen on my iPad. And many more write from desktop computers, where there is no auto-correction.

    • @pianowithemma
      @pianowithemma  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Oleg__ I have noticed it happening on my iPhone, so I'm sure it happens to other people's devices, too.

    • @Oleg__
      @Oleg__ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@pianowithemma Checked it now on my iPhone as well. There is no auto-correction in terms of register. I'm lucky.

      Personally I spell it fORsCOrE, which I believe to be the correct capitalization. Which can't be said for other commenters in this video.

    I have used forScore for approx. 10 years and always learn something new from videos like yours. No more heavy binders, digital pedal and score annotations have been game changers. I am amazed more musicians don’t use this with the IPad Pro. Thank you.

    My wife is a pianist who is the music director at two churches and the accompanist for the combined choir. She found a long cantata for the choir. I'm more technically inclined then she is. So I did a lot of research to help her out in purchase, set-up, and getting familiar with the whole system. After about 30 minutes of practice on the Cantata she is very happy with the whole set-up. Like @CliffBott, I have found your video to be invaluable. Excellent work!

    This video is a great introduction to the functions and operation of the app. I bought forScore after watching this video. She does a wonderful job, and I agree that forScore should be sponsoring her! No more dragging around 3-ring binders and searching through them to find my music. Saves a huge amount of time! I'm a guitarist, so my files are primarily guitar tabs, but the file management works the same. I'm still learning the nuances of the app, but I love it so far!

    Very helpful video - thanks! I found out the camera does a great job, and auto-crops the pages wonderfully ... when putting the pages on my black music stand. Otherwise the photos are a bit funny and the aspect ratio of the pages can go funny. So if using the ipad/iphone camera to scan, use a black music stand!

    I'm in a praise band, a marimba band, and a barbershop quartet, and I'm learning and attending workshops for hammered dulcimer and Celtic harp. I compose (mostly for musical theatre) and arrange (mostly for marimba band). This adds up to many shelves and binders full of music. Your video gave me the nudge I need to transition to forScore and an iPad.

    Your video was my first introduction to the forScore app. You showed me an app that does exactly what I have been needing for a LOONG time. I keep referrinf back to your video to upgrade my knowledge of this app. Thanks SO much for this video. I had been using the Files app on my iPad for all of my charts but I was unable to find a wireless bluetooth page turner pedal that worked with the files app. Not only does this app work with the AirTurn Duo 500 pedal, but you showed exactly how to set it up. I could not ask for more. Again, Thanks so much for this video. I will now introduce my bandmates to this app and the bluetooth page turner. This is a true game changer.

    I am a dedicated Microsoft man who only uses iPad with reluctance. However this video has changed my mind for music use. It is absolutely worth working out the weird prod and poke of the iPad world for this app. Do use the stop and repeat part of TH-cam as the 13 sections are clearly marked. I recommend writing a list because Apple methods are not obvious to a person like myself - I have been designing computer software interfaces since 1968. Yes 15 years before the IBM PC. You are never too old.🥰

    Great video. Using forScore for me, has made it way more practical on a gig, because all the tunes are alphabetical, so I’m not searching for things that aren’t in order when someone calls a tune. Also, I can always see it well because of the backlighting. It’s just better than paper, and yes, get the Apple Pencil for annotation. Your voice is great, and you straightened out a few things I was confused about. Thank you.

    Hi Emma~great video~Brava!!! Question: I have some 300 fake books in PDF format. If all these are loaded onto my iPad, can forScore search and find a tune by typing in its title? Question #2: Can we download today a version of forScore made for first generation iPad? All the very best.

    • @pianowithemma
      @pianowithemma  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, forScore has a search feature that allows you to search for individual PDF that's been loaded into the app. I'm not sure if you can download an early version of the app; you'd just have to try it out in the App Store. Realize that such an old version of the app may have limited features and may be slow and/or buggy.

    Hey Emma, thank you for your helpful videos on forScore! You have a very pleasant way of expelling the program! I am interested in creating medlies. In my case, taking music from people like Anthony Burger, Mark Hayes, and others, inserting a key transition (if needed - usually) between each hymn. Is there an easy way to cut and paste sections of music and created your own medley in the same document? Right now, I am printing my music, physically cutting out what I want and copying, then scanning into forScore. Is there a better way? Thank you!

      If you want to make your own arrangements and edit the sheet music itself, that's outside the capabilities of forScore. I suggest using software such as Dorico to make the arrangement, then you can export it as a PDF and easily import to forScore. Hope this helps!
