It felt like Elton also really loved Gallop, so maybe they're able to bond because they could feel that the other is also upset and are able to comfort each other. My cat growing up was the same type and similar personality to Lavender and was a half-outdoor cat (allowed out only during daylight hours and only if someone was home to let her back in whenever she wanted). She once had another younger cat basically force her into a friendship but the cat unfortunately was run over by a car. It took our cat years before she allowed another to bully her into friendship, and it was super sweet and sad because it was a similar looking cat that was again younger.
Thats the beautiful thing about losing a pet. The other pets in the home evolve incredibly. I've personally always belived they get processed by the past Pet cause they develop their characteristics
Oh Molly I am so so sad to hear of gallops passing. I had to put my cat down in june,then three days later my grandma also passed. My cat Sage has only known her big brother Blue for her whole life, then we got her a little brother named Remy. It only took her a few days to love him I'm glad Lavvy girl has accepted Elton as well.

Cats & dogs absolutely can be the BEST of friends! I have 2 dogs and a cat. We call them the 3 musketeers. They are always together & have each others backs. It’s a beautiful thing to witness every day ❤

We lost our little dog this summer and our cat has bloomed as an only pet. He is a lot more interactive and affectionate with us. We plan to get a kitten to bond with him but for now just giving him the time and space to transform.

The same thing happened to my car but just with our normal post dog because my cat knew Nico my dog since she was born , and now she doesn't like any other dog and I think one reason was because a dog chased her onto the road and she got ran over, so now she is just scared of all other dogs.

Cats get very attached to others, whether it's a dog or another cat, they do better with a close companion. And maybe she couldn't get close while Gallop was still alive. Aww. She’s beautiful and what she is doing is completely normal for an animal who has lost their best friend. My sister has two cats, Miguel, a tabby, and Momo, a black cat. She’s had both since they were babies. She got Momo after Miguel lost his twin brother. Miguel was about 2 maybe 3 years old when my sister got Momo. Momo was only about 3 months possibly 4 months old( she rescued him from a place that smoked weed, Momo has a bit of a slow development due to that). All this was about 4 years ago. Well recently earlier this summer in June, Miguel ran away from home. He was 9 years old. He hasn’t come back and we think he may have decided to pass away from his home due to maybe not being well. Momo got very depressed when his big brother/ bestie ran off. So she then adopted a new kitten. A little tabby that is named Teddy. Momo is now the big brother for this kitten and they are Besties. Lavender is wanting to be Elton John’s sister and best friend. She needs it. So this is really cool of what she is doing. By the way I love your videos. It’s really cool to see how you show how blindness really is. I’m not blind but I do have some visual issues. Like I have no depth perception, which affects my mind in making me a little afraid of heights.
My first pit bull passed last summer. I was terrified of how my cat Bebe would be when he passed. She had just turned 14 and they had been together since she was about 10 weeks and he was 1 1/2 years. About a year before he passed, when she was struggling (she got very angry) because Vaughn had dementia and had already had days where he didn't recognize her, I brought home a puppy. Dexter was just shy of 5mo and she was mad for about a month. Then, out of the blue, he went up to her and she nuzzled him. Prior to that, Vaughn was the only dog who was ever nice to. Her grief came out as anger and then when she accepted her dog no longer recognizing her, she saw the same energy she bonded with 13yrs prior in Dexter. Vaughn got to spend the last year of his life with a little brother, which helped him because he always loved babies, especially puppies. Dexter is bonded to my maltichon Jakey and their relationship was immediately her saying jump and him asking how high. With Bebe, if she says jump, he says yes ma'am and starts to bounce.
I thought the same and based on a few of these comments other people like me and you are thinking of Mario with Molly wearing that it really does look like it a bit just missing the hat
She probably didnt want to make Gallop feel replaced or sacrifice her bond with him by bonding with Elton. But now that Gallop passed she cant hurt him or make him jealous by bonding with Elton so now shes starting to check him out.
