I love how the actors in this film are now getting roles in US films
It's great! They're definitely very talented and deserving!
@@MollyBeeReacts going to watch vid during work lunch, were you aware subzero was in this before the movie?
@@Trashcan_Waifu Yes, I was! That was one of the reasons people recommended I watch it!
@@MollyBeeReacts now you know why they picked him to play subzero lol.
One thing i noticed that no one says about the movie.
It is good but exhausting to watch....first time i watched it i felt like i deserved a nap
A movie people have been telling me to watch for years and years, and I finally... finally saw it last weekend. It was great.
I honestly hadn't heard of it before Mortal Kombat came out and everyone started recommending it to me. Really glad they did!
@@MollyBeeReacts Now gotta watch part 2! If you haven't seen "Legend of The Drunken Master (1994)" starring Jackie Chan, I'd highly recommend it.
The sequel is even better in my opinion.
@@neonswitchblade yooo! That movie goes hard!
Fun fact that little dude used to train all agent’s at the Indonesian secret service
(BTW awsome reaction keep up the good work)
WOAH that is crazy! And thank you so much!
fun fact ,
the main character,
Rama (Iko Uwais) : the new generation of Indonesian Pencak Silat
Jaka (Joe Taslim) : Indonesian National Judo Athlete
and the Crazy Little Dude? He's Mad Dog (Yayan Ruhian) : Indonesian Master of Pencak Silat - with Cecep Arief Rahman ( Mastererd it too) made a Hollywood debut to fight Keanu in John Wick 3 Parrabellum :)
*Pencak Silat is Indonesia's traditional martial art.
love from Indonesia ❤
17:47 "he wanted to fight both of them at the same time, are you crazy?" Ma'am, that character is called Mad Dog for a reason
Iyain
Ahahahaha it's definitely appropriate!
If Mortal Kombat have the element of fight like The Raid itself... the MK Movie can be very excellent
The raid one and two opened the door for theses guys in Hollywood...I hope you react to part 2 soon! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I definitely will! And I'm glad they're getting opportunities! Without this we wouldn't have our Sub-Zero in Joe Taslim!
I’ve never seen a reaction channel cover this movie so I typed it into search to see if anyone had, and you’re the top result when someone searches “React to The Raid”. I don’t know what being the top result actually means, but this was a pretty good video so I’m assuming you earned that spot.
the trifecta of iko uwais, joe taslim and yayan ruhian is unmatched and the follow-up, The Raid 2, only ups the ante in terms of action and exploring more into the world teased in the first.
Joe Taslim also co-stars in a series called Warrior (HBO Max) that has some of the best fight choreography in a tv series.
Okay, Yayan Ruhian - that guy was so insanely impressive in this movie! All three of them were honestly but he blew me away. And I'd be very curious to see them develop the world more in The Raid 2. As you said, the story/world itself is really only teased and hinted at in this one so it'd be cool to see the larger picture. Warrior used to be on Cinamax, right? I heard that it was renewed for a 3rd season through HBO Max now!
@@MollyBeeReacts yep! so happy that it seems to have grown in it's following audience since it's move to HBO Max. i believe warrior may have been the last original programming for Cinemax so i just don't think they ever really promoted/marketed it.
Joe Taslim you can see in 'The night comes for us ( Netflix) and Fast and Furious 6.
Yayan (Mad dog), you can find him in John Wick 3
@@bingo8882 I actually haven't seen any of those movies so I'll have to check them out! I've only seen the first John Wick haha
@@MollyBeeReacts See the Raid 2 first, then the night comes for us
I remember watching this at the theatre back in 2011, my god it was HORRIFYING.
Oh WOW I can't imagine the experience of seeing it in a theater! That must have been extremely overwhelming!
@@MollyBeeReacts It was! The gun fires and punching sounds were very "in your face", and at the time it was probably one of the first ever "high-production"/"hollywood level" film in our country. Can't wait to see your reactions for The Raid 2!
The Raid films have set the bar for fight scenes in movies, still haven't seen a film that does it better.
The real fact that the "crazy little dude" is Indonesian martial art master.
People are telling me all about him - he sounds incredibly impressive and accomplished! I am not surprised, considering he is one of the greatest fighters I've ever watched on screen, without question.
@@MollyBeeReacts that little dude is call "mad dog"
@@metamajdi6358 Yes, I heard! It's a very appropriate name for his character! lol. The actor is amazing.
@@MollyBeeReacts that mad dog played in John Wick 3, fight with Keannu!! I love seeing ur reactions ur brave ha ha ha
I Always reccomend The Raid 1 & 2 to everyone I know enjoys fight scenes in movies. The fight choreography in these movies are definitely sitting on top.
Nice review. The Raid indeed change the standard of action/fighting scene movie. The Mad dog guy is Yayan Ruhian, you can see him in John Wick3, Beyond Skyline, or Hit n Run, he fought Taslim again in it.
Btw while everybody recommend TNCFU, allow me to suggest HIT N RUN (2019) for Taslim comedic act or La Tahzan (2013) for more of his drama side.
Oh nice! Thank you for the suggestions! I will see if they're available to me on any of my streaming services!
Can you react to the film called "The Night Come For Us (2018) | Netflix Original". In this film Joe Taslim plays the main character.
I will look into it, for sure!
@@MollyBeeReacts Thanks
Iko uwais (rama) is also in that movie
Your face at 14:04 and 20:40 is exactly what I hoped for from those scenes, lol
Ahahahaha two of the most startling moments for me, for sure!
The movie for me was exhausting!!! The basic storyline, but people all around the world and reactors, admire highly the fight choreography and yes it was Top notch on this aspect!
Hollywood needs to learn a lot more about well-choreographed fights and kicks. Lucky these fights and styles are getting well-recognised across the world including in America.
Most of the time, especially for big Hollywood movies, they do employ experienced fight choreographers that do try to setup elaborate fight scenes. The problem is when the director and/or the fight scene cinematographer's employ jarring jump cuts. Jump cuts in itself isn't inherently bad but not everyone can do it effectively and it becomes a crutch. Sometimes they have no choice when a chosen actor isn't really good at fight scenes or insurance doesn't want them to do anything crazy so they have to hide it through jump cuts.
@@RandalReid still Hollywood has a lot of catching up to do. Too much jump cuts can mess up the fun and thrill of that action.
@@AMLAN815 It's not really catching up per se as Asian fight choreographers do get to work on Hollywood films . It's not the process but rather the editorial and stylistic decisions some of these filmmakers make. Like I said, jump cuts aren't inherently bad. There have been movies that have effectively used the technique as well as the shaky cam like Paul Greengrass.
You should watch Joe Taslim and Iko Uwais in another movie on Netflix, The title is "The Night comes for us" One of the best Fight of Joe Taslim and Iko Uwais (Main character in "The Raid Redemption"). 👍 Good luck for your youtube content 😊
Thank you so much, I appreciate the support! And yes, a couple people have suggested that to me, so I will definitely check it out!
@@MollyBeeReacts Not before Raid 2 though 😊 They amped the violence in the second movie.
@@nitrokid Yeah, you're right, not before The Raid 2, but There is no Joe Taslim in it. And i think @Molly Bee likes Joe Taslim, That's why i recommended to her "The Night Comes for us". 😁 I hope she started to like Iko uwais. 👍
@@nitrokid I just watched it and you are absolutely right! lol
If you think this film is badass (which it is), then The Night Comes for Us is gonaa be more badass and more brutal than this. 👍🔥
The funniest thing just happened. At the bit with the refrigerator bomb and you said holy shit, it cut to an advert half way through the word "shit", so you said "holy shi-' then the advert finished your word for you, it started singing "it's a beautiful morning"
I just discovered your channel but it's already risen to among my favorites
After Raid 2, can you watch rurouni kenshin trilogy. Because another new 2 sequel will be released this year
""The ride 2 and The Night Come for Us"" nice to watch..
Yes! I actually just recorded a reaction to The Raid 2 and will be doing The Night Comes for Us soon!
I love this movie. This is the martial arts film that changed the game.
Iko Uwais and joe taslim best friends, and both of them play in Hollywood movie now.next reaction the raid 2 and the night comes for us.
That's so nice!!! And I will definitely react to the sequel and look into the other film as well!
The raid movies are the only movies I rewatch and rewatch and still excited for every fight scenes.
The little guys who played Mad Dog and the young cop Rama did the fight choreography for the movie as well as their own stunts.
That's so awesome! Incredibly talented guys!
I'm sure someone's already mentioned it but I'd love to see you compare the Raid with the movie Dredd. Almost identical plot lines
This movie was very influential for the action genre back in 2011 onwards and still is very influential today. One of the greatest action/martial arts films of all time. It also paved the way for the actors in this film to go on in Hollywood like the lead actor Iko Uwais who is now in films like Star Wars, Mile 22, Stuber, and the upcoming Snake Eyes movie. Also Joe Taslim who also starred in films such as Fast and Furious 6, Warrior (series), and Mortal Kombat (2021).
If you enjoyed this movie, I highly recommend a movie featuring a couple of the main actors from this called The Night Comes For Us. It’s REALLY good
Just a note on the fridge bomb; it's a cool concept wherein the open fridge around the grenade created a low-grade shaped charge, like a "petard" (as in the saying, "hoisted by your own petard"). The explosion was mostly directed outwards through the open fridge door by the body of the fridge. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work more-or-less as depicted.
A cool level of realism throughout these movies. The violence is graphic, but they keep the effects of the violence grounded in reality, which makes them all the more horrifying. The one thing this movie does that most action films don't is that it doesn't remotely glorify violence; the last thing you want to do after seeing "The Raid" is get in a fight.
definitly Mad dog looking down at Rama, and he probably regret it and found himself dead, bcz Rama is one man army. Well ofc you know what I mean after watch the raid 2. anyway glad you like the movie
I did enjoy both of them! Mad Dog definitely underestimated him, drastically. As did many others throughout both films!
That "little guy" that you mention is martial arts master named yayan ruhiyan he played in john wick 3 too
The raid redemption is such an awesome movie so violent and action packed all the way through
Joe Taslim, or Jaka in this movie he plays as SubZero in Mortal Kombat , and play villain role as Shaw henchmen in Fast Furious and Star Trek too, as Iko Uwais he play short role in Star Wars
Epic Movie & Reaction Molly! The action in this movie is brutal & relentless - absolutely adrenaline pumping! Looking forward to your reaction on the sequel Molly! More power and God bless from the Philippines!
Thanks for reaction..Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim best actor fight in my country ❤️
That "little crazy guy" was in John Wick 3 aswell
Ternyata banyak juga yang reaction film The Raid. Jangan lupa kak untuk reaction film The Raid 2

@@LEXItheDOLPHIN Yep, it's currently posted! Everyone was right - it was even crazier! lol
16:55 the little dude his play in john wick 3
That's cool! I actually have only seen the first John Wick haha.
I never heard of this movie but it looks interesting enough that I might have to watch it also your right the fight scenes do look very good.
Definitely check it out! The fight scenes were insane! Unlike anything I've ever seen, for sure!
Mad Dog is no ordinary fighter you've just seen how he kept going with the light bulb stuck in his neck! You might think of him like he's a super killer 👌🏿
You know that situation, when your sight got a boost from adrenaline rush....?
Always happen to me everytime I watch that insane fighting sceene......
Nice react😃..btw do you like music??
Thank you! And of course! Haha I don't have one particular kind - I like a variety of music!
The raid two, is a gigan project than the first one. The first one is bad ass.. But the second one is the real movie project.. You should see it
Mad Dog fucking rules. One of my favourite bad guys ever.
Wow so amazing! Molly you are so awesome for reacting to this. I have to pull out a couple of older movie titles... maybe you've heard of this one EQUILIBRIUM (2002) it was famous in its time, an action sci-fi movie with sequences (much less brutal but) jaw dropping - which makes me think of ULTRAVIOLET (2006) starring Milla Jovovich in yes a sci-fi action movie where they use flat space dimension to carry cargo such as thousands of ammo and weapons like the sword seen on the cover - I believe she lost her own child and on a mission she is entangled with a young boy whom she decides to protect. But going back further in time I really wanted to mention the classic HARDBOILED (1992) by the famous director John Woo who combined martial arts with guns in 3 movies including A Better Tomorrow (1986) and The Killer (1989) he was so influential at the time they say all future action directors are copying him even if they've never seen one of his movies because the influence is passed along from film to film. Maybe I said too much 👀 haha
You must try watch the RAID sequel for many gore and blood
I will definitely be watching the sequel!
yup! Can’t wait 😊
I love this movie. That final fight is epic. I actually ended up wanting Mad Dog to win because he goes hard
u need to watch the spiritual prequel to this movie; Merantau Warriors.
same director, same actor & its quiet good.
I will try if I can! I haven't found it accessible through any streaming services I have, as of yet, but I'll keep my eye out for it!
In Indonesia, the films are brutal, for example, the scariest horror ghost films
That little guy is yayan ruhian aka "maddog", he also in jhon wick 3 too
Imagine Kung Lao appears in this movie Molly 😌😂❤
LMAO only Sub-Zero this time around!
Cant wait for the NEXT one. the raid 2..

the night comes for us is good too
Have you seen "The Man From Nowhere"? Another great movie. You would enjoy it. And "Ip Man" starring Donnie Yen. The same guy from the upcoming John Wick 4.
Iko uwais is one of the best martial artists of our time
Now you understand where John wick comes from
