I've actually experienced something similar to the waitress. I was standing in line at the gas station and I forgot to trade my cash in after work. So I paid for everything in ones and fives. The guy behind me (who I know but doesn't know me) in line taps me on the shoulder and says "You look a little young to be stripping. Which joint do you work at? They should be reported. You cant be over 16." Me, in a horrified tone, "Sir, I'm a waitress at the local catfish diner. I know your mother. She comes in all the time. Also, I'm 29 years old. Even if I was a stripper, WHO ARE YOU TONTELL ME WHAT I CAN DO." Mind you, I live in small town so it's hard not to know everyone when you work in one of the more popular restaurants. His face went red and he stammered trying to say something, then just gave up. I turned back to the cashier, who seemed horrified and delighted at the same time. Her mouth was wide open, but kind of in a smile at the same time. "I don't need the receipt, thank you." And with that I left. I ran into his mom at the restaurant a few days later and gave her the full run down. She said, "He never was very bright, I'm so sorry."
That ending though. I almost spit out my water.

r/idontworkherelady stories are the best. I'm always amazed at how completely insane some people can be. I can't help but wonder what these people's lives are like, and how they've gotten this far being that crazy.
It's actually quite simple really. We have laws that protect the mentally ill from being euthanized. ;)
they get this way because society coddles them. they learn that they can act however they want and get their way because society tends to respond harsher against ppl who relatiate rather than ppl who initiate hosilities. also, most of them are sociopaths.

So I got a story for you but seeing as I don't use reddit i'll just post it here:
I work in Yves Rocher which is part store selling beauty/ skin care products and part spa. We do all sorts of treatments from facials, massages, waxing you get the picture. It isn't uncommon for clients to ask to be treated by a specific person, kind of like when you go to get your hair done and always want the same hairdresser. Anyway right now one of my coworkers, we'll call her J, is five months pregnant and very soon she will go on maternity leave. While she still works the shop and facials she can't do any massages and can only handle a certain amount of waxing like eyebrows or arms, generally things that can be done in half hour tops.
This male client came in the other day and asked for an appointment with J and he always gets his full body done. My other coworker who was writing down the appointment for him let him know she was pregnant and the conversation went like this:
Male client: I would like to get an appointment with J for full body waxing please.
My Coworker: Sure, we have a time slot open at such and such a date but I should let you know, she is currently pregnant right now and can't really handle a full body waxing job.
Client: Thats ok, just tell her she can do as much as she can manage.
Coworker: Riiight but you really should ask to be placed with someone else as very soon she will go on maternity leave.
Client: Well how long can a pregnancy last exactly?
My coworker just stared blankly at him not sure if she had heard correctly while I dove into the office and broke down laughing xD

I work at a gas(petrol) station chain here in the States, and I've had my fair share of curious complaints in my three years, and no way that anybody would ever think to complain about the "pumps being too clean," not even the most compulsive of complainers.
