    I finally got around to jetting one of those carbs the other day, and it tripled the power of my bike, according to the speedO, I was doing 40mph and it still had plenty of throttle, I'm 6'2" 240lbs, now I'm wondering what I'm going to do with these useless reed-valves and ridiculously big PWK 21 and 28mm carbs I have, lol, because if I can get that kind of power from a hi-compression head, $25 hi-performance carb, offset intake and a cheap expansion-chamber, that's way more than I'll ever need,

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The HP isn't really suitable for a stock 66cc. It did reduce the 4 stroking but also limited RPMs and top speed. I've heard that Mikuni is the carb of choice for high performance builds but I've never tried one myself

    Hi Nick,I have a 80cc engine,but my bike have only 30km/h maximum speed!!!you know why?

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Almost all of my stock 80's only did about 40-45. It might just be a break in glitch, these engines smooth out after a few tanks. Might be your oil-fuel ratio is too rich, if you're doing 16:1 like the engine manuals say. Try 40:1. You may be getting poor spark from the stock spark plug, try an NGK B6HS as a replacement.
      But most likely of all is the carb needs tuning. I'm just spitballing here, do you have video you can upload of the bike running

      Next video I'm putting up is swapping the stock jet from the NT into the HP. I mean, it's all I have on hand until my new jets arrive from china whenever that will be, but re-jetting the HP makes a world of difference

    • @JamesPiccone
      @JamesPiccone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You got to jet it, you can't judge a carburetor on being better by it happening to have the closest jet to what you need.if an NT carburetor was slightly better in any respect I would be using it 👍. You got to down yet till it cleans up and make sure the throttle slide isn't catching not letting it seat all the way causing a high idle.

    • @NicksBikes
      @NicksBikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JamesPiccone I can't wait until I finally get my jet kit. I have literally zero experience with jetting, but putting the nt jet into the hp already cut all of the bogging and 4 stroking I was getting with the stock nt. Same jet, different carb, world of difference!

      the jet that comes in a stock NT carb is it number #70 5mm the one in the runtong HP carb is #75 I think or #80. My yd100 uses a 61 jet and my 49 mm iron bore uses a 71. Basically the HP carb generally likes 60 -70 Jets.
