@@trentbikes it’s actually a good tutorial in my opinion. Sure, there’s some info missing that would be useful, but you can only pack in so much. I’m new to all this stuff and so have been watching videos for about 4 months straight from multiple sources in order to learn as much as possible so I could port out a BT 100 and get it running good. There’s no one person, I’ve come across that’s given me everything I need to know. I’ve pieced together all the knowledge needed, from all the TH-cam 2 stroke guys and you are always giving out precious gems of information and so you have provided much help to me. I finally finished the BT 100 a couple nights ago and clicked on this video right before I took it on its first ride. Before I saw it, I was on the fence, concerning the break in process. One camp insisting that it has to be broke in the strict old school way, and the other camp proclaiming that I could just hop on it and just screw the break in. To me, the way you did it seemed a more balanced approach and so I decided to do what you did. My buddy and I have been riding it around and I’m happy so far with how it performs ( and relieved because I worried that I fucked up and grounded away too much from the top of the transfers😂.) Next, I will tune up the carb and will get rid of the crappy stock exhaust and replace it with one in making (basically a copy of a phantom 85 straight pipe. Can’t afford a proper exhaust and so decided it would br less time consuming building this one instead of being overly ambitious trying to make an expansion chamber.) Thank you, and please continue making videos!!!!
Trent how's it going. Talk to you on F B in the Smoliks group. Your information on this video she'd light on me about the importance of oil in your mix. It's something everyone should know and always remember . People seem to get caught up in the air fuel mixture your engine is using not realizing the importance of oil not only as a lubricant but a factor when it comes to compression. It kinda escapes me to until you go to change the oil in your car. I wanted to ask you about welding. Sometimes we talked about in the Smoliks group. You asked me about a process and I think I could help you with your little mig welder to do exotic metals. That's just a term for different metallic materials.
Awesome Light Show! Really appreciate all Your hard work and time You put into these videos! Very informative and down to earth.that light show was a real bonus! Keep up the awesome work my friend!👍
I use a 1l water bottle, put about 1l of gas, european 98 octane, motul 710 or 800 factory line road racing, 1:32, and thats pretty much what i do, i put my oil woth a medical syringe, even tho i do 1:32 i always put that tiny bit of oil more, so makes it prob 1:31 or something like that
I enjoy your channel and your videos I was just curious that my crap behind you the black one where did you get that exhaust on that thing is that a real and see what is that
so if it dies when i stop giving it throttle mean the pilot jet is to small? and when i rev it full throttle it cant rev higher than like 1/8th throttle. somone please help!
Cool to see someone else using castor. Personally use Klotz super techniplate. NOTHING beats the compression and wrist pin oil retention of castor oil!
@@trentbikesit says 2 stroke oil on the bottle but it’s mineral, when I ride the bike for the first couple minutes oil comes from the top cylinder head and I don’t know where it’s coming from, could this be due to the oil? I’m on a 16:1 ratio
@xxlegendarygamer4650 why 16:1? You're following these bad manual instructions aren't you? 16:1 is a waste of money and oil. Use like 25:1 at least. I use 32:1 from cradle to grave depending on cylinder
I'm in the process of breaking my engine in at the moment I ran 20 to 1 fuel mix just regular Walmart universal 2-cycle oil after I'm done two tank fulls of that I will switch it over to full synthetic
1st thing I did was take apart the new engine, inspect & cleaned all the metal dust and metal shavings out.....Then just ran 32:1 for break in. Riding slow 50- 75% of throttle for 3 heat cycles. While checking for loose 🔩. On the 4th ride I started riding like normal with 0 issues....Some people get super OCD about break-in running 20:1 oil or more for 3 full tanks. Taking a month to break in a $75 engine. Many chainsaw builders who have rebuilt 50+ saws. Say all they do is make sure it's clean. When put back together. Start it up, do 1 heat cycle, shut it off, check everything. Maybe check it over again on #2 start up and then use it normally. Basically 1 or 2 heat cycles and 🔩/leaks check...With 0 problems from little to no break in. Others say 40:1 from 1st start to end of engine life with no issues. I like to run about 35:1 but 32:1 to 40:1 really doesn't make much difference. 32:1 will actually run a little hotter temp 🔥 than 40:1 but despite running say 15F hotter. It's providing more lube. An accurate YT chainsaw temp temp. Showed 25:1 ran quite a bit hotter than full synthetic 50:1...My snowblower says run 50:1 but I think that's because they want it to break sooner. So I use 40:1.....
I already ported it and did upgrades and mods to it. Not going to put a reed valve on it though. My other bike has an athena sport on it that can hit 60-65mph.
I don't know if it's good but i run a 100 octane with my yd 100 sometimes. It smells sweet and seems to run fine but idk. We have some goofy ass gas in my country so we can't put 95 oc into two strokes anymore.

Very informative! Thanks for the knowedge and inspiration
You should try some Klotz bean oil it's castor oil with a red dye in it I believe it's 80% castor and 20% synthetic smells great
Isn't it bad to wide open throttle during break in? I want to WOT my bike but I don't want it to blow up at the same time.
Not really. Just get it tuned/dialed in. WOT for 5-10 seconds, then slow down and cool down, and repeat.
Okay thanks man!
10:22 🤣 Yeah sounds about right. good coms
I mix my gas in a big mason jar that has fluid oz marks. I just fill to the 32 mark and add a an ounce of oil.
2 stroke oil use to be 30 w non detergent

Hey man where do you get your kits from they sound so good
Good mecanic video man you know you have another time green position on you bike try to run same level on your crank one foot front and one back 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for the informative video brother
do those 70$ treatland cdi's work with these engines? i had bought one a couple months ago but didint know how to install it
@geph13 it's a cdi, it sparks, it has an ignition curve. Works on many engines.
Do you recommend 32:1 cradle to grave? Or do you think for break in its better to run 24 or 20:1?
I always do 32:1
Hey I'm ready to upgrade my carb. What is the one you suggested that is fully adjustable. You said it didn't need any jetting.
I made a video on it. Look for it on my channel
Good video thanks for the ride
My mini bike goes 40 and feels insane my motorized bicycle tops at 36 but even that extra 4 mph has got to feel insaine
Great video thanks
How long do you think these type of bikes last you with good maintenance?
Where do you buy the exaust of the plated bicycle!!
Huh?
0:07 was it another two stroke? It sounded brutal
Surron
@@trentbikes I thought those pitbikes were electric. Sounds so good
@@Toxic2T They are electric

this is a great video

Super helpful info! Thanks man!!!
Since you are dead and can’t hear the engine can you tell from the vibrations of whether it’s tuned right or not?
I can hear anything, I have a cochlear implant.

Is mineral oil ok to use in these bikes with unleaded petrol
@@xxlegendarygamer4650 lol definitely not. You need two stroke oil

@@xxlegendarygamer4650 you have a head gasket leak, tighten head down or replace gasket
Got mine up to 45mph on a level road and I weigh 200 lbs. I shaved a little off my head to increase compression.
removing material in your combustion chamber decreases compression. more cc volume.
Shaved means to lay the head on a sanding block and rub the bottom of the head. This decreases the head volume and increases compression.
