Honey I've got to tell ya, this is one of the best videos I've seen on the topic. Keep at it and you'll have a massive TH-cam following in no time. Thank you so so so much!
Hey, great video bud. Can you tell me what size jets you use? I have the same NT stock jet and need to buy new ones, but I don't know the dimensions. Can you please help?
Good video bro. Very informative. I have the same pipe you do but it four strokes around the mid range rpms. Still trying to find the optimal jets for that pipe it sounds so much better than the stock one.
Yeah this pipe made my bike 4 stroke too. You need to play around with a lot of different size jets. The sound is so worth it. It sounds more like a real dirt bike than a weed eater like the stock pipe.
Brilliant! Thank you so much for this vid. My motor has been four stroking a lot, and after watching this Ive actually got a handle on setting up my carb and ignition. Good concise, accurate advice. Spot on. And your bike looks sick. Love the Harley styling.
I’m glad I could help a fellow builder out! It all takes time it after watching some of my videos I’m sure you will be a pro at tuning the n/t carb and it will become second nature
@@keeganhache6667 hey i got a 66/80cc bike with the same amazon pipe, a b6hs, and a pod air filter everything else is stock(nt carb). I went one clip down to richen the low end because I found when its warmed up it leans out a little too much for my liking(rather run slightly rich then slightly lean)on the very low end but it doesn't four stroke on the low end. I'm running a 63 jet and it 4 strokes at W.O.T. most of the time but occasionally it seems to "break free" from the four stroking and rev all the way out like it should. Should I keep down jetting?, because I'm worried imp gonna make it too lean? Thanks
@@mattsaganowski2689 a #63 jet sounds really lean to start with. I would try retarding your ignition timing a few degrees. This will help smooth out the motor and get rid of that 4 stroking. I had this very same problem but the timing also believe or not plays a big part in the engines performance
@@keeganhache6667 thanks so much for the reply. I started with the stock nt jet(70 ish i think), moved to a 67 where it wouldnt even rev up at all past 3/4 throttle, then a 64 which made it 4 stroke but rev better, than the 63 im currently running. Ill try the timing mod and get back. Also i never gapped my plug could this be a cause of 4 stroking?
Very informative video, I do have a question? I'm brand new to the motorized bike scene, and I'm totally addicted. My question is, When I'm at full throttle going up hill or down it 4 strokes. I have the stock 66/80cc and it runs awesome. It was given to me with everything stock and the 3 prong spark plug. I did stat running 40:1 and it seems a little better what can I do to stop it from 4 stroking? Thank you in advance
You did good kiddo . I would watch another video done by you . Well spoken obviously is very excited about doing mechanical work on your bikes .keep it up it's that hard work and gusto to get it done in you that will suite you very well In this life . Thanx for the Info especially about the timing
man thank you I try my best to provide good information for the new builder who can easily get misguided by people on Facebook. I enjoy making videos and there’s plenty more to come
Just one thing, when using a feeler gauge you need to increase size until it can't go so you know the actual gap size. Just setting it to what it should be and testing if it fits isn't good enough because the next step up could potentially go too
Thanks for the info man! The issue I’m having is i have a yd100 and it 4 strokes on full to wide open throttle it’s still petty new so I don’t get on it a lot. What would you suggest? I’m running 18 to one right now and then on my 3rd tank I’m gonna switch to 40:1
Yes the biggest part of that issue is definitely the oil mix. Also adjust the needle clip on the carburetor one notch higher and that will make it run slightly leaner and balance out the fuel to air ratio. Take note that motors in the break in period are always changing how they run because the rings are seating more and more every time you put a heat cycle in it.
if you run 40:1 in a yd100 it wont last long REMEMBER ALL-- There is NO oil in the case as there is with an old 2 stroke motorcycle. ALL of your engines oil or lube is in what you mix with your fuel with these engines
@@pascalolesen5187 I run 20:1 on my iron sleeve builds and the normal chrome cylinders I start out with 32:1. As long as you take breaks in between. The yd100 if tuned properly will not overheat on you. It will however if your riding for a hour strait with anything higher than 40:1 for your mix ratio. Motors change their dynamics a lot during break in so you can never base its temperatures or performance for the long run.
Mine does the same I don't think my engine is fully broke in yet though it's not at its limit it's probably getting to much gas I just tried moving my needles clip up to lean it out because it's stock and stock is jetted rich but it was 2 lean I would recommend putting the clip in the middle position and try a 66 jet or a 67 I'm waiting for my jets to get here but it should be a ripper after I get jets ATM it just 4 strokes at 4 throttle
What do you think the culprit is for 4 stroking in low rpm range? My engine 4 strokes until past 3/4 throttle. Then it screams at full throttle sounding a little lean. Plug looks perfect brown. Current clip position 2nd notch from top. I tried top notch and was way too lean. Also I've inspected thoroughly for for vacuum leaks repeatedly and none found.
Maybe you can help me with this.I live in florida and it's extremely hot.You know hundred degree days And it 4 strokes like crazy. But when it's seventy, it doesn't do it I've tried adjusting the needle. Replace the plug, gutted. The stock exhaust, and it's still four strokes
No if your bike is stalling out on idle it could be that the needle clip adjustment is to rich. It’s pretty easy to diagnose issues with these nt carbs because they are so simple. If it’s not that you would want to spray carb clean around every gasket surface and check for air leaks or use propane torch. Both work it’s just a way to find any leaks by spraying a very flammable gas onto the intake, case gasket, crank seals etc.
Hey man i got real bad metal on metal grindin screehing loud enough to hear over engine you think it coud be magnet or what is your experiences in that regard
I would say the magnet could be rubbing the magneto coil or the clutch gears have no grease on them. Or the clutch pads might be scraping against the plate when the clutch is pulled in
@@keeganhache6667 hey I was was running it yesterday I haven't been able to start it today or yesterday my mix was too rich I fouled out plug but I plan on doing what you said and replace the magnet and magneto and a new plug it's a damn china doll
Yeah so since your really close to sea level I would try running a little on the rich side because there is plenty of air around. If you lived on a higher elevation you would want to lean out the mix because there is not as much air.
How can I fix no fuel going into the engine I've bought another nt carb and am still having the same problem tried cleaning the jet I don't know what else to do.
Well your filter inside the gas tank could be clogged up with sediment. I would remove that and check it. If it is clogged up you can flush it out with gas and a air compressor. Also the inline fuel filter may have dirt inside it. Remove it completely or replace it. Also your vent in the gas tank might not be working properly. So take off the cap and open the gas valve and pump the primer on the carb.
B6hs hits the top of my piston on a stock 80. So be careful everyone it goes in a bit further than a z4c or z8c. Might just be the style of head on this motor i dunno but it was a no go on mine
@@keeganhache6667 thanks for the info. I just put a 32 tooth sprocket on my bike to raise the speed and reduce the vibration. It begins to 4 stroke at 30 mph as it did before the sprocket change. Do you think that’s due to not enough power or too rich. I believe my needle is at the center adjustment, at sea level, and the oil ratio is probably 10-15:1. I don’t measure it
@@boothpup5712 well you just answered your own question run 32:1 or 40:1 with a good synthetic oil and move that needle up 1 notch try it let me know how it works out for ya
