I am watching this video at 4 in the morning, and I have my console with the same symptoms, and with all the correct standby voltages, I hope I have the same fault, you also earned a subscriber
Nice vid, I even went back in the video to look if you had bridged the pins. To me, it was hard to see, sometimes the reflection from the ipa looks like a bridge when it's not.
That's why I have a surge protector. To prevent things like this happening to my stuff in case there's lightning. Which, granted, the lightning is usually in the distance when a thunderstorm occurs, but still.
So I have one doing the same thing after replacing a shorted mosfet near the apu, I checked the zero omhs resistor near the ethernet port it's not exactly zero ohms anymore. It's .2 omhs is that within range or should I replace it? The multimeter still beeps in continuity mode when testing the resistor.
Lots of these consoles obviously have intermittent faults that probably relate to cracks in the solder joints. You move them about and manipulate the board and it fixes it, just for the crack to reappear when you move the board again. People think they are fixing them, and sometimes they are just working because they have move the board. Common fault in car automotive intermittent electrical faults. French cars are notorious for it in the wires to the fuses and ecu. Caused by corrosion or multiple heat cycles. Car electrics took a nose dive when they started using lead free solder and this is probably the same reason.
Hello there, i need some help pleasee. i have an xbox one s digital. i tried everything. it just beeps and no light. i do see that the fan bumps every few seconds. what can the problem be?
Nice work again Phill thanks for the content 🙏 I’ve a few one S boards here that need south bridges replacing/reballing I can’t do reballs yet though. I need more practise, but don’t normally get enough time at work too attempt it which is the issue. How much do you normally charge or would you rather me drop an email ? As I could send you the boards and I’m sure we’d happily pay for them because it’s good for our stock.
Typcally for reballs I charge £65 mate. I can do discounts if I'm doing more than one but the southbridge I would have to reball by hand as I don't have a stencil for it :)
Purchased a lightning struck Xbox one X. The power supply is a goner but tested with a good power supply and get just that beep. I know the retimer ic on those can prevent power so I think I'm going to start with the retimer.
Got a Xbox one s. It did that beep once no light. Never did anything after. I think it might be power supply but don't wanna spend the 30$ and time and money and it not even work after. Idk. Think I might just buy one off marketplace
@@hove131 hmm oh ok thank! As ya after the lighting strike. I just turning it one. It wither beeped with no light or it light up and no beep. Can't rember. But either way if it doesn't matter. I guess imma just go with one of marketplace. Better than the headache Ig
Congratulations on your video, I currently have an xbox one s and it does not turn on and close I tested everything and on the U5D4 pin #1 chip I have no 5 volts at all even when pressing the on/off button , is this necessarily the southbridge? and also he is not ground
To me. The end conclusion of it shutting off was it was confused with the changes to any configuration. Think of a computer bios. It goes through several stages to reconcile what is reality. Then boots when all sorted out.
I blame the heat for messing that chip up I missed up a window wiper motor could not get the bush off it was stuck and would not come off and my mom lost my window black rubber plug so had to buy the hole thing I removed it year ago as wiper was not working properly and boot stop working to wires was broken one for boot lock and one for the wiper motor so should work now
Hello mate I really enjoyed that video something different as I've not seen one with lightning before glad you got it working mate you streaming tonight bud :)
gud day sir do you encounter in xbox one S a defective ic 3819a which is label U5F3 it causes the mosfet 4C50 WHICH LABEL Q6f2 in the board getting hot?
When you first tested that power rail. You had 1.1 volts. I have my first Xbox one s that’s broken that I bought and when I tested that power rail there was no voltage. What would that mean?
It's hard to say if it isn't in front of me but you basically need to try and trace that circuit back and figure out why it's missing. It could be related to the PMIC, southbridge, a bad mosfet etc. If you have a method for voltage injection you could potentially inject voltage into the board. You don't ever want to inject more than 1v into a 1.1v line though
@@TheCod3r alright thank you so much! It’s not my personal Xbox I bought it broken for a challenge to fix it otherwise if it was I would probably send it to you. And if I reflowed the south bridge would that do any harm?
I found a xbox one s in a bin it turns on logo lights up and goes straight off and can hear a kinda click noise when it switches off was gonna have some fun this weekend where would you suggest I start 😂
My sons xbox won't turn back on again for 5 minutes if it's ever turned off at the wall, is it on the way out or is it something that happens every now and then?
It's hard to say to be honest, but it's not normal behaviour. It would need to be looked at to be able to find the issue, and tested with a known good power supply too
Interesting. More and more issues to cause beep on beep off.. Thanks for sharing m8. Also, I sent you those diode readings on that one s in fb m8. Also can you confirm that TDP158 can be used on these? I came across a post where someone claimed they used one by mistake on a one S and it worked.
if xbox dont detect hard drive they turn back off. they also wont display no video when the hard drive breaks down. put ant old hd in and u should get error meassage.
@@DJR_Repairs it actually is true. I have a video on my channel from a while back covering that issue. If the hard drive fails it can cause the system to turn off after 30 seconds. It also won't display any video signal because it can't access the boot anim to load up
@@DJR_Repairs it can be hard drive related if it has an issue on the power circuit but the hard drive itself won't usually cause beep on and off, but it isn't impossible
@@TheCod3r Already looks better :D, Just thinking back now, this is the second time that some part of the ethernet circuit has caused a console to show beep-on/off symptoms. Congrats on the fix mate.

Yeah hard to say but I think the bad component was causing it to blow to be honest
Looking forward to the conclusion of this video, watching it now, always keen to see how others diagnose their work.
Great video! Experience plays a big role in these situations
An hdmi toner issue? Or retimer issue...sorry, I couldn't understand...trying to fix my issue and going thru tons of searches
I wish i could have found a video like this for the one x mine is having the exact same issue after a lightning strike
Did u ever figure it out? . Did yours beep once and then didn't do anything else after?
Me too
That's why I have a surge protector. To prevent things like this happening to my stuff in case there's lightning. Which, granted, the lightning is usually in the distance when a thunderstorm occurs, but still.
I have a surge protector and lightning still broke my Xbox the other day…
Lightning just shot my tv,and my xbox was in the surge protecter, mind you it turns on for like 15 minutes and just turns off.
I was using a great surge protector, but lightning still got me. Never really protected unless you unplug it all.
I’m confused.
So was it the first chip you swapped, or the 2nd smaller chip, that was causing the whole issue? Or was it both? Thanks
Phill I’ve got this exact same issue on a FAT PS4 when I push the power button I only get one beep and the console won’t power on
