My readings on that resistor goes up from 5k and up a bit, never reaching 10K, what gives? I even removed the chip above it and replaced with a good 10k resistor measured before soldering it onto the board.
I just brought an xbox series x that needed a chip replacing. So I find the chip that's gone one of the power phase mosfet's u48 and it's blown so hard only half of it is left and you can see halfway through the board. Do you fancy a impossible repair @TheCod3r😅
Do you know if for example: MP2855 controller from aliexpress will work with xbox series s because I heard that these one needs to be programmed or something?
hello i was wondering what my unique issue could possibly be . My series s turns on with no signal . I am not able to Hard reset and it doesnt provide the beep or give a signal still . The system turns off on its own after a couple of minutes as well . Ive tried all basic trouble shoots and even microsoft tells me to send it in ( 270$ charge) . Is this an SSD issue or board problem?
do you have any tips for getting into soldering and microsoldering like on how to practice for them or things i should learn to be able to fix so many different things, thanks
Well I done a goofy one lol Won a Xbox One X for £4 sniping in at the end of auction and spent more on postage than Xbox lol I've got the equipment, got the accessories like liquid fluxes and good solders so should be an interesting project and what have I lost at £9? Education is worth that all day long lol Still not plucked up courage to tackle the docking filters on my Switch, still learning the hot air gun and its foibles, bought a load of Aliexpress practice kits and first one the bluetooth speaker turned out OK, so getting there :D
Your channel is honestly so underrated. I always prefer to watch your videos over anyone elses when it comes to this stuff yet you aren't even at 100k subs yet. Confusing... So many more clueless solder blokes out there with 800k.....
So im troubleshooting same issue. I opened the case up which hasn't been opened still had the sticker seal on. Spent a couple hours just looking over the board trying to find anything obvious to no avail. Tested the power supply 12.2v output. So go the meter out testing the 12v circuit ran into v_sophy circuit found that L1 is reading 92.1 ohms print calls out 0.01ohms so im thinking L1 is bad but 100% sure. Would be helpful if anyone else has found this. I don't have another unit to test to verify my finding.

Buy some cheap or get free boards and practice

next time you might want to check for enable signal first before replacing that 0.75v step down ic ;)
Mine is having this problem. Is there a for dummies quick version like wrap it in a towel like the 360.
No don't ever wrap it in a towel. There is no quick fix for this. If you have this issue you need someone who can fault find it properly
