My Xbox One got a downstream lightning strike, hit the cable wire and went into my modem then through the Ethernet cable into my Xbox 🤯. It does the same thing, powers up until the fan should normal kick on then shuts off. I have a Series S but you've inspired me to try to save it. I believe the culprit is either the RAM or one of the Mosfets, already replaced the power brick. I'll give it a whirl someday soon. Thanks for the details on the proper power readings, that's gonna help a lot! 👏👍
@@KCDdesign Nothing obvious. I'm waiting on a cable to come in so I can test the hard drive. Frustrating as hell. I think I need a better volt meter as well, my leads are cheap and aren't getting a clean signal. Long way to say no.
This video was very helpful. I am struggling with the same issue on my Xbox. I am a electrical guy in automotive and followed along checking the same points as you with very simular results. However, when you ohm checked the RAM, you said anything under 30 ohms indicated an issue. I am getting 58 ohms, much higher than your donor board had. I am wondering if this value is proper. Any input is greatly appreciated. Ty
Hi! I have checked pin memIO and I have 58 on and 25 standby on a working Xbox one with error e100 (dvd drive?) I have same Numbers on a xbox one with Fast beep. Why?
Where do you get all of the testing point measurements from? I followed along however my RAM is ok (I think, it has higher resistance than your donor board but also not Samsung RAM, so that may be why?)
Pwmic isn't enabling to supply the required voltage. Check those. If apu or cpu was dead, it would be shorted normally. Best way is to check the resistance.
I had an issue with my Xbox shutting down randomly I clone the original hard drive to an SSD and that didn't solve my problem I put new thermal paste and that improved the stability dramatically but it will still randomly in the middle of a game freeze make a buzzing sound and restart I've also tried replacing the power supply I'm not sure if because I clone the original Drive potentially was faulty and I cloned over some folks this is getting out of my hands I just saw your video and I hope you can shed some light
With everything disconnected and only having the power supply connected... testing the power supply I got a reading between 11.8 and 11. 9... is that still good?
So I had the same issue sometimes it would fix it self and work for a while then over heat funny enough the eject button fixed the console even though it a digital only model 🤣 actually using it to watch your video now and commenting on my phone
had very same video got one from a friend there wasn't any thermal paste left I replaced it and put the heatsink on without the fan and used a heat gun all over the board avoiding the plastic pieces of the board for a few minutes let it cool down removed the heatsink once more cleaned the APU and heatsink added fresh artic M6 thermal pasted and works like brand new been playing games streaming video no issues another think I forgot to mention was I gave the whole board an isopropyl alcohol bath and scrubbed everything with a toothbrush and kept rensing the board with alcohol then used the heat gun it repaired the problem for me
Xbox one s just turn off power unplug wait ten 15 seconds then plug only power source in and turn on and should reset. No need to rip the computer apart and using a meter since the power supply has a built-in surge protector and can be eaisly reset, if it doesn't work then replace the PSU for a few bucks and good to go..
Thank you so much for this very detailed video. I have almost exactly the same issue. I am missing the Ram(1.5v), GPU(1v) and CPU(1v) voltages. the Ram resistance is 40.8 Ohms can you pls tell me where the voltage is coming from to supply the ram memory? or which component to check. thank you again GREAT VIDEO!!
Watching this made me forget how mad I was when my Xbox stopped working, went from being kak upset to interested in fixing a motherboard.
Lol maybru my Xbox is also doing this randomly
@@saadiqabom9850I’m starting to think Microsoft did this on purpose in there updates to llliminate old Xboxes so that we buy new ones … poeses!
replace ncp4205
I think this has to be the VERY FIRST video I've seen which has given the voltages on the different areas of the board., so its A+++ from me.
Just watched it and this is exactly what I needed. The only time I have seen the voltages too! Subbed
Excellent job, love how you tested the ram resistance to determine the fault in the ram memory. 💯
Tomorrow I check my motherboard with same problem. You are the best!
😲😲😲
That's some next level troubleshooting!
Good job dude. Like to see good procedures and work like this.

Any update? Same thing happened to my Xbox and I replaced the power supply

@jseal21 any progress?
you are awesome Man.. jus watched this for fun and really learnt a lot.

I'm in the exact same situation and currently stuck with no more ideas. Did you manage to find your fault perhaps?
Awesome repair and explanation.
My man, thank you so much, I just wish there was some way to send you mine, I just bought it and after one day it started doing that same thing.
Excellent work!
Good and clean job👌👍
Great job, i love it! Best regards from 🇲🇽, new sub 😁
Now what happens when there is no voltages on cpu and gpu?
As far as reballing what is the clamp device you used, what kind of flux is that, and what brand of balls did you use? Also does the brand matter?
Hi! I have checked pin memIO and I have 58 on and 25 standby on a working Xbox one with error e100 (dvd drive?)
I have same Numbers on a xbox one with Fast beep.
Why?
Great video, well explained.
Great video how much does somthing like that cost I’m having a similar issue
Very well done!
Gracias, thanks for share
Mad props bro for real and it's a pleasure to watch your video. 😎💯👍🔥. You're the man bro

Nice trick with the resistance for the ram voltage line
Great job! And what if the CPU and GPU points are 0V, even when trying to turn on the console? So the APU is dead?
Pwmic isn't enabling to supply the required voltage. Check those. If apu or cpu was dead, it would be shorted normally. Best way is to check the resistance.
@@DrCryogenic OK, thanks for the reply👍
bro where are you located i would love for you to fix a similar issue if possible and i love your content.

Your so Kool mien! Thanls
hi great vid keep up the good work, im getting readings of 1.5ohm on the cpu an gpu test point is that showing i need them reballed/reflowed ty
Nice job🎉
Same fault as mine, dam I get a lot of condensation, prob water damage ram.... Thanks for info.. Great job

How much would I have to pay to you fix my Xbox s it has the exact same problem but I can’t do what you did
Please make video on play station 5 2second blue light...thanks
you can put test point and voltaje please ?
So the Ram chip replacement, just has to the same maker? Is that correct? Thanks for the videos!
Yes, it has to be the same brand.
My xbox doing the same thing... should I just buy a new one. How muchbis the repair?

Great Great super Job
Can someone tell me which ram module a xbox needs please
You da best
As my xbox is doing the same as the one in the video
The Cod3r works on and fixes this in a video, he says its the SSD, they are trash apparently and needs replacing as it's a critical failure.
So you're telling me my Xbox is boned. Also, that was cool.
I had this problem. I put the xbox sideways on hot radiator for half hour an it fixed it .
Bhai mere console me bhi same problem he😢

Well guess I’m not a gamer anymore
upgrade to an SSD drive in the first place , cause China puts in cheap hard drives in everything .......
Nice video but PLEASE stop saying "RAM memory". RAM stands for Random Access Memory.

I just want to play Rocksmith again… ugh.
I’m thinking about sending it to you. I saw your WhatsApp number in the comments.
If you don’t mind if course
