I understand why they went and killed the servers for LBP PS3/PSP/Vita. There were ongoing attacks and exploits that couldn't be addressed, as those games cannot be patched anymore. I'm not so well versed on what happened to LBP3 PS4, though I think it was somewhat similar. That and the community is so damned small now that any effort to keep it alive is a waste of company resources. End of support was always inevitable, but it's still sad to see it happen. If you have a decent PC, you should be able to emulate most of the LBP games (except 3, I believe). There are even community made servers that can be used! Apparently you can also still play on original hardware and redirect the game to use those custom servers! All of that is a google search or two away, and I encourage anyone who wants to experience the games again to try it out. I just tried it out last week on LBP2 thru emulation and it's petty good
Spoiler alert : Sackboy A Big Adventure IS NOT LittleBigPlanet, stop crying because the game doesn't have a create mode, it's never been LBP 4! It's a separate game with its own charm. As for LBP 3, you're right, this game is a disaster.
Yeah I completely agree and I do like it for what it is! But I do think the game's in such in a weird spot since it's the last entry in its franchise and is so separate from what the other games where.

That’s a genre I have probably the most experience with, and there’s nothing in it that hasn’t been done elsewhere, if not better. I think the lack of a level creator just makes it an even more bland experience, it’s simply a Platformer with a sackboy, exactly like Astro Bot. Boring

I’ve been wanting to replay and revisit my old creations on my moon, and replay some favorite levels on my PS3, but sadly my controller’s battery is dead and we don’t have those kinds of batteries, so I’m just bummed I can’t play it anymore :[
its so sad to see so many videos coming from people my age saying games are not fun anymore, and these are all the same, I'm glad you reinforced the other side of the coin, but going back to LBP, as someone who found it when it was a sinking ship already and still fell in love with it I can confirm without bias or nostalgia, that the first 2 entries and also the portable ones, were masterpieces of the videogame industry. Is truly a tragedy what happened to this franchise when even the first LBP game would hold up very well in today standards, yes it may not be as deep as roblox for a substitute of programing your own game but LBP, or to be more precise LBP2, was in that sweet spot between level editor and game engine, a sweet spot that still has no spiritual succesor that I'm aware of, some titles tried but none nailed it like LBP2, and yeah, to be fair is a bit harsh to compare sackboy's adventure with the LBP series but for sure I'm not alone feeling like they were hanging from that IP, the fans are not to blame for having some expectations related to what the franchise always was, even the karting game had level edition mechanics, making levels was always a core element for the IP that they themselves stitch into sackboy's rump in every game, for better or worse. If sony is to blame for something is for being incompetent or ignorant, or both, but to be fair with them too is one of those games people who don't play videogames would have a hard time understanding, how may they replicate the magic when even their original devs tried to move forward with their next title? and dreams was trying to be more an engine leaving that sweetspot in the process. And just like that I ranted again about this game, mostly because I like it so much or because I crave more, I got into game development partially thanks to this game, I'm ok with sackboy's end, is not the mascot but the idea what I'm worried about, but I'm worried because nobody seems to want to keep the idea alive.
It’s too bad that Sony abandoned this franchise, and the servers went down after they got hacked (it’s so crazy just how bad the cyber security of Sony and its subsidiaries are. It’s a regular occurrence). Thankfully, crazy people were able to restore the servers and archived a good chunk of the custom levels. You can access those if you have a modded PS3 or through RPCS3’s online component (PS3 emulator). It would be awesome if Sony were to make a bunch of Master Chief Collections based on their numerous IPs that are dead/dormant. It would be infinitely cheaper than Concord, and MASSIVELY overpaying for Bungie (a studio that hasn’t made a good game since Halo Reach. It’s a shame that both Bungie and Halo became complete dumpster fires shortly after parting ways). It would be a great way to see if there’s enough demand for newer entries, and would allow the games to be preserved/made available to more people through PS5/PC releases.
I feel like most games from the late 2000s to the early 2010s had great narrators, lbps narrator and skylanders narrators were 2 of my favorite video game voices.

This was the one game that my childhood revolved around. I played this before I played the first LBP. I played this with my three siblings and argued the whole time but I miss it all the same. It was the first game I beat too. I miss it so much and I wish I could play it for the PS5 :(
LBP was such a big part of my childhood. I always loved the first game more than the second - mostly because I really wanted to get into making cool and complicated levels with all the tech, but I could never understand how to use it lol. LBP for the Vita was also really amazing. I love listening to the pod themes for both LBP 1 and Vita, they warm my heart.

I'm personally still holding out hope that a new lbp title will come out. But I am sad that there might not be anymore "microwave recording"quality sexy and I know it memes anymore. Also why was online put behind a paywall on the ps4 and onward??? That heavily restricted what fun could have with the game. LBP3, bugs aside, was a genuinely great game in my eyes. But there was no point in the cool levels if I couldn't play with anyone at all... ----- But it doesn't really matter now, haha. Now with the servers shut down, I tg ink this video has inspired me to at least look into emulating the game to see the online community again.
