As a Gen Zer (born 1998), the early 2010s were a golden age for our generation. Movies were amazing, video games were exciting and TH-cam began to take off. Not to mention I was in middle school and early high school at that point which I considered a fun time. Sometimes I wish I could restart my life in 2010 just for the fun of it.
Also born in 98, September 7th. Majority of my own personal nostalgia is for the mid to late 90s media. In this case I'm referring to video games, music, shows/films, and the technology used to play all of these forms of entertainment. I was hardly interested in anything past the 2000s. Rarely playing a handful of games for the Ps3, and even then it was my 2 younger brothers who were more interested in the then, latest media. Around 2015 I barely began to play on the Xbox 360, by that point it was already an outdated gaming console since the Xbox One came out in 2013. The only games I played on the 360 were Minecraft (console edition, man that was a great version), and an already relatively "old" game called Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (released in 2013, and both the game and the company that made it have a ridiculous story behind them). The 2nd game was okay to somewhat good imo, but definitely not the worst game I've played.
I was born in 2003 January I miss the early 2010s I remember showing my brother pixel gun 3-D and stuff like angry Birds fanf I watch a lot of shows I remember went silly bands were crazy love the music
@HiTu-fw8ly People are definitely not going to miss the early 2020s when Covid was running around from 2020- early 2023, what a horrible example. 2024 has been pretty alright so far however.
@ The problem is Covid was getting everyone and heavily changed lives of many people. It’s going to be very difficult to ignore something that effected just about every part of the world, versus the series of earthquakes, tsunamis, other pandemics, and a bunch of other disasters that only effected a few countries at most whereas everyone else was completely unaffected.
I remember gettin it day one on my way home from work, Its pathetic its been over a decade and they havent given us more about gta 6 than a single trailer

we've finally hit the Gen Z version of the good old days. It's really funny hearing you talk about how good CN USED to be, which is a sentiment people my age used to complain about Adventure Time and talk about how CN USED TO BE GOOD with powerpuff girls lol ,it will forever be like this, kids in 10 years will talk about how Gumball is better than whatever is airing then.
The only thing CN had at that time that my friends and I in high school liked was Regular Show and Adventure Time. But other than that, it sucked. I hated that they took Teen Titans off the air, among other classic shows. The only reason I even bothered watching CN at that time was because of my friends telling me about Adventure Time and Regular Show. But gaming at that time was incredible. You had two Elder Scrolls games come out relatively close to each other and multiple Halo and COD games. You'd play almost every weekend with your friends. That was such an amazing time, and to top it off, GTA 5 came out at the end of 2013. It's definitely unmatched compared to now, in my opinion. In fact, it's still unmatched. That's why I'm playing all the great games from that time for cheap now that I couldn't afford to buy growing up.
I’m a 2001 girl, the early 2010s are genuinely filled with such amazing memories. I wish I could list all of my feelings about it but it would take forever, but I miss those times. It’s like once 2020 hit the greatness of the 2010s was all just gone
2003 kid here. i think 2015 was the last good year. i feel like the magic of the mid to late 2000s changed into that of the early 2010s, then that magic disappeared with 2015. really, it could have even been 2014
@@tfwnoyandere I could see why you feel that way. Personally I really enjoyed the rest of the 2010s up until about mid-2019. That was when everything was sort of devolving into the 2020s
i think it makes more sense to look at those years as 95-05 and then 05-15, rather than 90-99 00-09 and 10-19 like we do now. hopefully next year makes 15-25 any less of a disappointment lol
Honestly the craziest thing is the comments seeing people born prior to the year 2000 and even into 2005+ who experienced all this too. I was born in 96 and I always thought this media was only enjoyed by those nearly pushing 30 now. The fact people born in 2010 remember watching this stuff growing up truly shows how great this era was and how newer entertainment just doesn’t hit the same. Everyone yerns for the swag era
Im 22 as of commenting this (born 2002), and had the 2010s as my childhood line up perfectly with my elementary-middleschool days. For me, 2007-2015 was peak bcuz anything prior to that i was too young to recall well, and anything after 2015 was already morphing into a different era (MLG, TH-cam commentary/gaming explosion, Reel-like apps, etc) 121724
@childishdestino of course man, the only culprit I can think is the overly convulted thumbnail but the video itself was on par with some of the big guys. I'd recommend remaking the thumbnail to be simpler, there is a rule in thumbnail design, 3 points of focus or less.
one thing about 2000's and early 2010's is that the culture was also very different with it aswell, people were just really alive to just party and have fun and i feel like life was really at its peak, this was the time where technology was growing rapidly for not only consoles but for phones aswell, the ipod turning into the iphone and ipad getting released, people were experiencing greater newer technology, an iphone 4 or 5 can just fit super small in ur hand now compared to phones nowadays where they're pretty big. trends back then everyone was apart of no matter what it really was. i think the fashion sense back then was simplistic but alot of people mixed it up in their own ways. (also the justin beiber hate loool)
Yep, technology really changed quickly back then. Just look at early TH-cam vs early 2010s TH-cam it's like night and day. I remember we had to put in a special URL just to see if a vid would load in HD 😅
1996 kid here. It was a really good time to grow up, because as a child you still had the things what we call now 'back then' like VHS movies, a lot of cool magazines, no distraction through social media or smartphones .but as a teen you got to that technology and it was fascinating. And everything was more connected, you shared cheat codes for games at school or battled someone with playing cards. Really nice times.
I have an odd feeling towards this time period as I was born in 2005. I was young so of course I'd look at this era very positively, but there's a very particular feeling of optimism that I get everytime I see stuff from that time period. I wish I had a better way of explaining it, but I miss the overwhelming sense of optimism that was everywhere. I enjoy the party music and aesthetics that were around then still
I was born in '89, but I agree there was something magical about these early 2010s years. It was like the last great era before the world went to crap. I love the Frutiger Aero aesthetic of everything, and there was still a wonder and excitement about life.
As a person who was born in 2004, I freaking miss 2010-2019 The Amazing World Of Gumball, Adventure Time, and Regular Show are the best cartoon network show ever! I wish I was a kid :(
Same! 2007 here as well! It’s genuinely sad to see all of our favorite games and cartoons not really talked about a whole lot anymore. My old 3DS and Wii are actually turning 10 in a couple of days which is kinda sad but neat to see in a way.
Born in 93, so many of these memories shared here hit so close to home. From the late night zombies runs with the squad to LBP and Minecraft with the homies. Would love to go back.
You practically summarized my childhood, i’m 25 now and I really miss the early 2010s I still watch movies, listen to songs, and play video games, but they are not as good anymore. We get a few gems here and there but that’s about it. Maybe thats what being an adult feels like
I was born in 2008. I distinctively remember watching HOURS of vine compilations and later Elsa-Gate purged matterial on youtube at around 2015-2017. Simpler times man.
bro this is the early 2010s relation, your still in highschool right now meanwhile all of us that fit into this video we’re classes of 2016-2022 idk like when Harlem shake came out you were probably in kindergarten 😭 sorry for hating but 2008 trying to relate to early 2010s is like me relating to the 90s and I was born in 2000
@@r6astright bro, im born in 2003 class of 21. late 2000s/early 2010s was my childhood fr. These dudes still in school. Then on top of that, I started middle school in 2013, because my middle school started in 5th grade.
Your 2000's video pretty much reminded me of my elementary school years, and this one reminded me of my middle and high school years. I'm 28 now and married with a child. I kept a lot of my old game systems and games, mainly my GameCube 3DS and Wii U (yes, just like you were one of the few people to own a PS Vita, I was one of the few people to own a Wii U) as well as many of my old DVD's that aren't scratched to Oblivion. I can't wait to share those memories with my daughter and show her some of the things her dad grew up with.
Born in 2000 and let me say, 2010 changed everything for me, from using TH-cam with my old suspended account, watching old nick shows on Netflix, Regular Show, movies like Kick-Ass and Hot Tub Time Machine, all around good stuff, all that changed around mid 2014, I miss those days but we gotta move on.
I was in my early/mid 20s back then. I constantly was defending the fact that you guys had a GREAT childhood to all my friends who couldn't let the damn 90s go. I'm glad you're all old enough to share your memories now. 2010s rocked!
I’m another early GenZ baby (born in 1996), and 2010 to 2014 were my high school years. The late 90s, the 2000s, and the early 2010s were the best time for childhoods imho in terms of culture, music, gaming, tv, sports, school (certain aspects), friends, nostalgia-building, toys, phones, computers, and the internet.
2004 kid here. I truly believed the 2010s were the best time to be a kid. Great shows, great movies, great video games, and the world didn’t seem so scary. Most kids didn’t have iPads (at least not when I was in elementary school), but we still had our own devices. Getting on a chat room on my DS to send funny drawings to my friends, playing Skylanders with my little brother on our Wii, watching Ninjago, the LEGO Movie, etc etc. I would happily go back to those years as an adult, and I’d give just about anything to live those years as a kid again.
@ yeah but people 5 years older or like 3 years younger say the same thing as me I don’t get it they say it’s growing up old times were better but look at the age gap
This video described my childhood extremely well, but this might be the first time someone mentioned Rayman Raving Rabbids WITH the mention of the ”Guitar Hero” minigame which I absolutely loved lol (ladies night was my favourite song). Kudos to you for making this!
Showing BajanCanadian at the end REALLY brought me back, I loved that channel, I remember watching the entire 700 episode hunger games series at least ten times over
2004 mf over here. Your video brought back some very fond memories of my childhood. Especially connected with you when you brought up the PS Vita. That handheld was the best thing to come out of Sony's ass in a hot minute. It kills me that there will never be anything like it again. Just like all things we took for granted. Something I've noticed over the now 20 years of my life is that whenever someone today says that time has flown by, what they really mean is that everything's changed. It has. And really fucking fast. Fuck, man. It feels like I should still be a kid yet I'm technically an adult typing on a phone that doubles as a jack-of-all-trades rectangular prism that can seemingly perform miracles. If you told me fifteen years ago that future phones could take my pulse using nothing but the main camera I'd have called bullshit. Yet with the novelty now in hand, it doesn't feel as magical as, say, the first time playing Minecraft 1.7.10. I guess what I'm trying to say is that our early decades are what count when it comes to comparing our experiences to something. And even though I'll never get to emulate the feeling of watching a let's play on 2007's TH-cam ever again, I'm at least glad I did it in the first place. I also wish I had lived my childhood in the U.S. so that I could discover Adult Swim way earlier.
I got hit by that pure sad melancholic nostalgia when the lbp music kicked in and memories of me and my brothers playing together for countless hours. I truly miss those days
I’m just so happy that you used specifically LBP costumes as examples of the 2010s type fashion trend. I feel like that isn’f talked abt enough and it makes me so happy that it was mentioned. 0:39
born in 99. So glad I got to experience my childhood without social media and internet and glad I got I got it during my teens. Honestly the best time to be alive
Thank you! LBP was one of my biggest influences during my childhood. I remember I wanted to be a popular creator, and have a level MM picked. It always nice to see others that have played LBP.
as a person that born in 2002 its the best decade for my life. there is a lot of advance tech coming but we still share it and play it together in someone house. we always chatting in the class about the tips and tricks for a certain levels we don't complish it yet. we saw a youtube video in our friend pc while everyone dont have one.
3:40 lmao you know your an og when you remember the first thing that used to come on after Cartoon Network was king of the hill. But I used to hate it too cuz I just wanted to watch some robot chicken but now it’s by far one of my favorite shows.
i was in high school during this era, and this was the time I started to get into gaming in general, as well as the time i started spending more time online and being on Tumblr. This was peak Tumblr era. This was also the time my time watching TV and listening to popular music was slowly dwindling and I spent more time either online or playing games. As for games I was playing during this time, it was mainly Mario Kart Wii, and 7, and lots of Pokemon since I got into the series in 2013 with Pokemon X. That was THE hyperfixation for the next few years. The friends I made during this time, mainly cuz of MKW, were.... good friends at the time, but I've sadly cut them off since then.
Man this took me through memory lane with tears! I would go back in time just to experience it all over again knowing that it was once in a lifetime experience
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO HAD A PS VITA 😭 Dude I played tearaway and it’s genuinely one of my favorite games ever. I got one a couple years ago to jail break it and now I go back to it every now and then. I’ve been meaning to play little big planet for a while now but haven’t gotten to it.
Honestly the people born mostly 2003-2004 and even 1998-2002 can can relate to the early 2010s Ah yes early 2010s a decade were someone born in 2003 can Relate to
The early 2010’s still felt normal like the decades before did and I’ll gladly look back on those 4 years, from 2010 and 2014 but the years afterwards just don’t give me fond memories that’ll boast to my future kids about. I’ll loathe those years a lot more.
The late 2000's and 2010's were probably the best times to grow up in, such a golden age for childhood. Honest to god believe it was the best time to be a kid ever
It's so weird looking at this with nostalgia. I don't feel like it was 15 years ago, to me it's more like it was just 5 years ago. How time flies man... 🤔
I honestly feel sad for children nowadays. Im born in 2002 and was yhe youngest in my family. I had more fun with my friends. Running outside sharing our phone cases were so much fun. Nowadays kids love tiktok and roblox.
God I was starting my career as all this stuff you were talking about was happening, not a single one of the TV shows have I ever watched. 2010s were pretty damn good for gaming though, had not yet hit peak DLC/Day 1 patch time yet and the internet was still kinda niche but it was getting more mainstream than it was in '06
The most fond memories I had were that 2010-14 period. Having relatively older divorced parents but being younger me and my siblings had a range of experiences that felt unique to us. Too young for this yet too old for that. A wild dynamic, a lot of hardships, but so many moments I continue to cherish to this day.
I’m glad that I’ve lived through an entire decade while actively engaging in internet culture, especially memes, during my teenage years. I created my first social media account in February 2012, and since then, I’ve felt like a part of something huge. Memes were not only funnier back then, but I also had a feeling they lasted for a long time, shaping online communities for solid years (rage comics were a thing from 2008 to 2015. That's 7 years!!!). I still have my old posts with those goofy memes like rage comics, Doge, Nyan cat, Skifcha cat, Philosoraptor etc. That was also the time when I discovered Minecraft, and to this day, I still remember some of the old worlds I created. In CIS, we had our own unique meme culture, though it was very similar to the global trends especially in US. Around that time, in 2013-14, war broke out in eastern Ukraine-my home country. I vividly remember how difficult things were, but most of my memories from that period are tied to school life. Back then in my early years of school in 2008-2012, smartphones were just starting to gain popularity, but regular cell phones were still dominant. I had one myself until I finally got my first smartphone in late 2015. And in 2016, I created this TH-cam channel because I wanted to try making content myself - Minecraft content, but I ended up deleting those videos later because they felt awkward. And so my life changed when I moved to Finland in 2018 and I started learning English (I did also learn Finnish, but for the context I refer to English because it's widely spoken in the world), which introduced me to Western culture - including its memes and trends. Despite everything, I still miss my home country, and it’s heartbreaking to see what’s happening there now. So all in all, 2010s might be the best decade to remember when I am on my deathbed in distant future. 😂
As someone born in 2009, I feel like my childhood was WAYYY better back then near like 2017, then currently, everyone was actually connected and life was just better.
I miss early 2010s (2010-2012) those are best years for me in 5th grade. I remember Cartoon Network usually rerunning the classics from 2000s in those times and same thing Disney and Nickelodeon too. It felt like 2000s again feeling. The music better and they also old school hip hop remixes was better than modern mumble hip hop.

@@THEDARKKNIGHTXTDK I remember watching Ben 10 a lot until early Ultimate Alien and stopped due to how good Regular Show, Gumball and Generator Rex were. I'm still baffled that Cartoon Network shafted the last season of Gen Rex around 2013 to morning slots

When Adventure Time came out, all the popular music from that era, the fashion, the memes, the internet culture. What I would give to go back to the late 00s/early 10s for one day...
I remember the first time I saw Robot Chicken (I was 9 or 10) and I was so drawn to it, even though I knew damn well I was not supposed to be watching it. The very next day I recorded a bunch of episodes and faked sick so I could watch them all day
Me being born in 2000 my childhood was kind of a two-way street growing up through the early ‘00’s as well as the 2010’s but you got it right on that adult swim part king of the hill being the first show to pop up at 8:00 PM everytime adult swim aired used to always watch it while only being 6 to 7 years old I remember robot chicken, family guy and American dad plus it was my first time being introduced to now my favorite anime Naruto man good times. 😭😭
Early Gen Zer here (born in 2000), and words cannot describe how much I miss the early 2010's. Two years ago, I had a little breakdown about 2011 being 10-11 years old lol. I reminisce about the simpler times where I constantly make Flipnotes on my DSi. Even though my animations were shitty, I had a blast making them. Back then there was the CN Check It era with Gumball, Adventure Time, Regular Show. The Hub Network with MLP:FIM and Dan Vs. Nick with Big Time Rush and Victorious. And Disney Channel with Fish Hooks, Ant Farm, and Jessie. I really need a time machine here heh!
It makes me a little sad now sometimes when I get on my ps3 and don’t see anyone online seeing the short clip at the end with 11 people online is something I haven seen in a long time
Wish I could go back to these times and further back. Everything now seems so boring and depressing, people are miserable and everyone’s forgotten how to socialise. Games, music, tv shows, movies were so much better back then.
Another thing to add was the Tv commercials! So much entertainment and hilarious content. There are so many people that got there inside jokes and memes from commercials 😂
2007 guy here. My favorite year of the 2010’s was 2014 because I got my 3DS and my Wii for my bday that year. I also grew up on 90’s Disney VHS movies and DVD’s. Watching the Lion King on VHS and Santa Paws on DVD was something 😂.

6:30 I know it's mid-late 2010s but one of 2016's defining songs is certainly "Closer" by Halsey and the Chainsmokers. If 2016 was included that would definitely be there.

i think it makes more sense to look at those years as 95-05 and then 05-15, rather than 90-99 00-09 and 10-19 like we do now. hopefully next year makes 15-25 any less of a disappointment lol
I feel the same way. Although im a 2002 kid
Im 03. i think the time before smart phones and social media was the best. After that everything started to change.
📠
I was born in the early 90s and swag is stupid.
96' here too, please don't mention being nearly 30 bro 😭
Im 22 as of commenting this (born 2002), and had the 2010s as my childhood line up perfectly with my elementary-middleschool days.
For me, 2007-2015 was peak bcuz anything prior to that i was too young to recall well, and anything after 2015 was already morphing into a different era (MLG, TH-cam commentary/gaming explosion, Reel-like apps, etc)

How does this only have 37 views? This video is genuinely good
Thank you, not only for the compliment, but for clicking on the video in the first place and giving it a chance!
@childishdestino of course man, the only culprit I can think is the overly convulted thumbnail but the video itself was on par with some of the big guys. I'd recommend remaking the thumbnail to be simpler, there is a rule in thumbnail design, 3 points of focus or less.
I figured that the thumbnail had quite a lot in it. I'll probably change it, we'll see
Update:
I changed the thumbnail not too long after I made the above comment, and now the video is at 46K views!

one thing about 2000's and early 2010's is that the culture was also very different with it aswell, people were just really alive to just party and have fun and i feel like life was really at its peak, this was the time where technology was growing rapidly for not only consoles but for phones aswell, the ipod turning into the iphone and ipad getting released, people were experiencing greater newer technology, an iphone 4 or 5 can just fit super small in ur hand now compared to phones nowadays where they're pretty big. trends back then everyone was apart of no matter what it really was. i think the fashion sense back then was simplistic but alot of people mixed it up in their own ways. (also the justin beiber hate loool)
Yep, technology really changed quickly back then. Just look at early TH-cam vs early 2010s TH-cam it's like night and day. I remember we had to put in a special URL just to see if a vid would load in HD 😅
You’re trippin 😂 it’s really just nostalgia. Everyone has it for the time they grew up in
@@KaptainKerl Nope, it was objectively better. Everyone agrees that modern era sucks 😂
Born in 1000s
I have an odd feeling towards this time period as I was born in 2005. I was young so of course I'd look at this era very positively, but there's a very particular feeling of optimism that I get everytime I see stuff from that time period. I wish I had a better way of explaining it, but I miss the overwhelming sense of optimism that was everywhere. I enjoy the party music and aesthetics that were around then still

Same! 2007 here as well! It’s genuinely sad to see all of our favorite games and cartoons not really talked about a whole lot anymore. My old 3DS and Wii are actually turning 10 in a couple of days which is kinda sad but neat to see in a way.

Imma 2003 kid! Both the Late 2000s & Early 2010s were my most nostalgic main childhood era.

The mention of re-micks unlocked a memory of me seeing the Keep Your Head Up one on TV when I was 5 or 6

Great video this was on my recommended lol
Early 2010s was a wild time , played on PS2 Wii and GameCube I still do now a decade later
Beautifully said

This was peak Tumblr era. This was also the time my time watching TV and listening to popular music was slowly dwindling and I spent more time either online or playing games.
As for games I was playing during this time, it was mainly Mario Kart Wii, and 7, and lots of Pokemon since I got into the series in 2013 with Pokemon X. DUDE, I remember going to watch Star Wars episode one in 3D with my dad. Feels like a million years ago since then
The most fond memories I had were that 2010-14 period. Having relatively older divorced parents but being younger me and my siblings had a range of experiences that felt unique to us. Too young for this yet too old for that. A wild dynamic, a lot of hardships, but so many moments I continue to cherish to this day.
Bruhh

_I do too_
I’m glad that I’ve lived through an entire decade while actively engaging in internet culture, especially memes, during my teenage years.
2010 to 2015 was my secondary school years and I loved every minute of them years!!!
