Both Space Station Silicon Valley and Mischief Makers were games I played so many times, but for some reason, I was unable to finish them, even using cheats. What a coincidence! I was just eyeing the PSO Ephinea server just this week thinking about jumping in for the first time since I missed the boat on the Dreamcast when I was younger (was mainly a Nintendo kid) I'm more familiar with base PSO2 JP and NA when it came over here but I've always wanted to see what I missed out on with the original. The UI and chat sounds you always use in your videos don't go unnoticed whatsoever though - I see you!
Konami could probably release a 'Saturday morning cartoon arcade beat'em up collection' for 40-50 bucks with all their ports and I'd happily fund their pachinko habit for a walk down memory lane. I'd just hope they include the Aliens/AVP beat'em ups. a time when I had no money and could only lie that the changer ate my dollar at the pizza place so the lady would give me one and I could play a few rounds. man, I was a little snot.
I can only imagine that the High Moon Transformers games got overlooked because they came after roughly half a decade of games based on the films. I don't remember hearing about them until after Devastation came out (and had been delisted), and had to resort to "illicit means" to play them.
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time, Killzone 2 and 3, The Resistance trilogy, Infamous 1 and 2, Bloodborne, Metal Gear 4. I swear Sony hates its own history
How about hidden gems from older consoles that did got remasters, but still did not get recognition that they deserve. For example, why no one likes LocoRoco?

Whiplash, released in 2003 by Crystal Dynamics was a great game that got forgotten about and is stuck on the PS2 and X-Box. It was an action adventure platformer that was really funny and interesting premise.
Leagacy of Kain series, Shadow Hearts/Koduelka series, Skies of Arcadia, Zelda Twilight Princess, Eternal Darkness, Overlord 1 & 2, Folklore, Digital Devil Saga, Devil Summoner Raidou 1 & 2, Transformers War and Fall of Cybertron (yes Fall was on PS4 briefly digital only) and Star Wars The Force Unleashed plus the 3 What If Episodes.
Force Unleashed got a Switch port recently.
Shoutout to the entire Nintendo DS library.
Lost Planet 2's multiplayer (and co-op) was taken offline when GFWL shut down and Capcom is too busy with their *other* giant monster slaying series to care.
Phantasy Star Online is and will always be a masterpiece. It would be a dream that any developer give this title some extra love.
Okay I might be the only person who had all of Bucky O'Hare on VHS when I was a little kid, and of course I loved the video game. None of my friends ever knew what the hell I was talking about on the playground.
SHAKE SHAKE!
There's a game being made that's an homage to Mischief Makers. Forgot the name but dig for it! Wishlisted it and it looks great.
DoubleShake?
@@GalXCEyes Yes! Thank you!
No offense, but Sunset Riders DID get a rerelease. It's an Arcade Archives title.
I hope we get some Guitar Hero titles rereleased.
idk if that's an offense thing but HEY I guess I missed one! Good to know!
Dang, I had no idea. It doesn't seem to be available for my region on Switch, only PS4. Curse you, regional restrictions!
Guitar Hero is dead. Never gonna happen. Not to mention all the music rights that would need to be rebought.
I’ll never forget my first race in burnout 3. There I was, in the throes of puberty, at a friends house. Braces glistening.
3,2,1… my car rockets from the starting line as Finger 11’s Stay in Shadow blasts out of the game’s radio.
Those two things will be forever linked in my brain.
There doing what to shadow the hedgehog.
My mom bought me Bucky on the NES and some of the toys just because it seemed like something I’d like. An absolute favorite of mine on the NES but I never actually saw the show.
Dude you have GOT to try the PSP Ridge Racer games. The second one has the entire campaign from the first one with some new tracks, some new championships, new cars and new music - the only thing you're missing out on is a handful of exclusive cars that didn't make the cut between games.
Ridge Racer on PSP might genuinely be my favorite game of all time. It's peak.
I Love "Pandora tower" is one of my favored games, the mix of story and gameplay is perfect. the bosses fights are great, and I love how they give lore in survival horror stray notes.
Why does the story about operation rainfall always seems to get wrongly told? The games already were announced to be localised for Europe and Nintendo of Europe even published and localised the games themselves. Operation rainfall was only for the American release.
Gamecube had some of my favorite games, ones I’ve been missing or had living in my head rent free for years are the two Lost Kingdom games and Rockstar’s Smugglers Run.
Four words Sonic adventure two battle.
Been homebrewing like crazy on ps3 and wii lately. This video has given me some more ideas. Thanks austin you the man.
so... idk if you gonna mention these or mentioned them in other video but anyway... :
tekken 3-tag 2, fatal frame 1-3, god hand, prince of persia games... & and i can go on... like honestly some of these were enough to convince me to buy a ps2 (and soon a ps3) tbh...
I would LOVE some of the ps2/gamecube era Pop's to make it forward. Those games rule.
@@austineruption same dude
Duuude Tekken 3 was the shit! I remember borrowing that game from a friend and spending hours and hours, trying to beat Ogre with each of the characters. I really miss those days...
@@Yungtacosss hell yeah it was like i remember discovering tekken force as a kid and i lost my shit.. although i was bad at it as a kid cause you know i was like 6 but regardless.. that shit was goated
I loved Last Story back in the day. The book-like box that my game came in, made 15 year old me awestruck
Mischief Makers omg I need to play that again! Beat it once or twice back in the day. Rented it a buncha times. Highly underrated game.
Oh Austin, you better be wrong one more time to see more of these good games un-stuck on old consoles!
But wait! Double Dash isn't a good... oh, I can't do that bit anymore.
Hey!! Its you!!
What?
@@AFAIK-l8k hes making a joke saying that double dash isn't a good game
OH MY HELL! I REMEMBER WATCHING MY BROTHER PLAY SPACE STATION AS A KID AND HAVE TRIED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT WAS FOR YEEEAAARRRSSSS NOW AND YOU JUST BROUGHT BACK MY CHILDHOOD, THANK YOU AUSTIN !!!!!
Arc Rise Fantasia is legit a really good jrpg. It just got saddled with.... That dub..... But if you emulate it with an undub mod, you'll really like it.
I recently replayed an old favorite, Drakan on the PS2 (haven't replayed the original PC one in ages) and while I still love it, it could REALLY stand some modern gameplay. And it should, who doesn't want swordplay and dragon riding?
Thankfully we got Freedom Wars from the VITA next year for current platforms.
One day, Xenoblade X will come to Nintendo Switch.
I need a bigger gun!
Also, Xenoblade 4, since there are still unanswered questions.
announced today.
Thank you for highlighting the High Moon Transformers Games! They NEED to come back. Its such a shame when a game is great regeardless of the property its tied too but will be lost because of the license to that property.
Fall of Cybertron is one of the most passionate passion project games ever. And Im not even into Transformers stuff.
Such a well made campaign and the ending is pure badass.
Back on my PS3 12 yrs ago, War for Cybertron was one of my favorite games of all time, the world of Cybertron was so fantastic and as a child it blew me away, there was also the racing and vehicular battle stages which were some of the best levels imo
Oh lord, I loved Captain Bucky O'Hare. The cartoon and the NES game.
30 years of inquiring Bubsy on a old console
JSRF being stuck on the original Xbox is so crazy. It’s the only reason I still have mine
I cant even quantify the amount of hours I poured into PSO during college...my god, so many good memories. 20+ years later, my friends and I still ask each other to "open a telepipe" for shiggles
Despite videogames being a newer form of media than movies or TV shows, there's not as much desire to preserve them as their older brothers, and that's a shame because it should be even easier.
"The Last Story".... da na na naa na na naa na na na .... ugh MY heart... that game needs a better home and upgraded visuals.... dear gods of Jrpgs PLEASE save this gem!
Minor correction: Transformers is not solely a Japanese IP; rather, it was created by Japanese toy company Takara Tomy AND American toy company Hasbro, so its actually a joint creation, which I think is pretty cool.
Can't believe Space Station Silicon Valley got a shout, I loved this game as a kid and while it felt like a fever dream then it does even more now. Keep up the great work man, you're doing a great service in providing love to the lost and forgotten.
I have always wanted that GIJOE arcade game on home console ever since I saw it. I know there’s emulation, but it’s nice to have official releases.
I’d love to play Muramasa on something that isn’t a Wii or Vita.
Better yet, I’d love to see a port+localization of Princess Crown. I know there was a fantranslation, but I don’t think it’ll ever be finished.
I can't believe he didn't mention split/second - absolute gem of a racing game
Someone put Sonic frontier music over it lol.
The whole PSO bit.. gave me so much nostalgia. That game was truly special.. I just loved playing local multiplayer on my gamecube.
Miss those days ❤
There's also Transformers Armada for PS2. My last casual run took only 4 hours to 100%. It's a pleasant experience.
While Mechassault makes other hardcore Battletech fans scream and tear out their hair, it's a good couple games. Just plain fun.
PSO was something amazing. There was nothing like it. I used to play this game for hours. I made a lot of friends online.
Ahh PSO my beloved. It's my favorite game of all time, I played it on every console and still go on Ephinia now and then. One of the reasons I fell in love with your videos is the PSO sound effects all over 😊
As an owner and fan of Mischief Makers, i feel represented.
Aww man I spent hours upon hours playing burnout....that crash mode is awesome....shocked that no one has tried to replicate it
You have been talking up Treasure a lot in this video. So I would like to bring up a few of their other games that are stuck on old hardware.
Silhouette Mirage, Gradius V, and Sin & Punishment: Star Successor are Treasure games that need to be re-released.
I am sure you either mentioned these in the last video or maybe even in this one, but we really need to bring custom robo and kid Icarus uprising the modern consoles: and by that, I mean either the switch or the switch 2🎮
Thank you for the video austin, and God Bless y'all🎮
I literally think this how bro.
Wow, the real impact this video had is making me realise just how good the Starfox soundtrack is ❤
Very good follow up video that highlights the importance of game preservations & here's some of my choices to return via re release
Bloody Roar that I hope happens since Konami is somehow good at that, Various Capcom titles like Breath of Fire 3 & 4, Asura's Wrath, Tech Romancer & God Hand that I hope happens if Capcom remembers Power Stone, Star Gladiator & Rival Schools thanks to Fighting Collection 2, Xenosaga I hope gets a collection especially since I loved Xenogears & it's the final Xeno game I haven't played yet & lastly Brave Fencer Musashi alongside the sequel Samurai Legend Musashi, a series of games that I hope to one day play especially given that Square sometimes remembers their other IPs like with Live A Live
Glad he did it.
Both Space Station Silicon Valley and Mischief Makers were games I played so many times, but for some reason, I was unable to finish them, even using cheats. And I believe that Space Station had a bug that prevents you from collecting a single piece of gold which renders the game unable to be completed? Yeah.
There is a Gameshark code that fixes that, actually.
There's an upcoming game called DoubleShake, that looks to be a spiritual successor to Mischief Makers.
it honestly feels like Nintendo hates the gamecube and anybody that likes it sometimes, wind waker, twilight princess, sunshine, and thousand year door being the only games from that they've brought back to an hd system and almost all of those ports just not being available anymore sucks
It did bomb.
Bracely default is literally stuck in its release year, even with a 3ds, cartdrige and homebrew online you wont get the same experience without your friends playing in parallel
I loved Mischief Makers so much when I rented it that I actually bought it when Blockbuster went out of business and still have it with me to this day.
Anyone remember Otogi: Myths of Demons. I think that's a game that deserves a remaster
From Soft. I still have my Xbox copies of 1 and 2.
I completely forgot about Dragon Force, I loved that game on saturn.
While Transformers has its roots in Japanese toys and was animated in Japan, it is very much an American creation made for American TV first and foremost by an American production company.
I kind of want this to be a regular series on this channel. I'm a sucker for this kind of content.
Bucky oHare was one of my fav cartoons as a kid, i still cant believe it was only 1 season cuz it sure feels like there was more. That might also be because it was like 30+ years ago now. I still have my Deadeye Duck action figure with the accessories. The game was awesome too!
As much as I absolutely love the Cybertron games on Xbox 360, I honestly wish Transformers Armada on PS2 would come back. I wouldn’t care if it’s a Switch or PS5 exclusive, I would just love to play it.
Yessss! I know what I'm watching this afternoon during work!
Good ol’ Dragon Force. I loved that game so much.
You didn't/'t fail. You helped game preservation as a whole. Hope you realize that and I offer thanks ☺
How about hidden gems from older consoles that did got remasters, but still did not get recognition that they deserve. For example, why no one likes LocoRoco?
Scalers are a necessity if you like old games on actual CRTs or anything. I made a GBS Control for cheap, scale it to a VGA CRT over component or you can get them HDMI out. Low latency etc. my PS2, Saturn and Genesis are hooked up in the corner, a PS1 or Wii too. Anything I can't emulate or just want the OG experience but crisp and smooth, bam.
The Great Grind continues! Thanks for the upload Austin🤙🏼
Never been this early. Keep up the good work! Been following your channel for many years now. Anyway, this topic surely brings up the importance of emulation which helps to prevent titles like the ones featured here to become inaccessible.
Emulation sure is a savior.
