People aren’t “haters” nor are they “poor” bc they dislike the PS5 Pro, the console simply just set the tone for future greed that Sony know you all will allow. PS Plus subscription literally cost more than the games, people allowed it, Controllers went up even though they’ve been known to not be durable and have stick drift, people allowed it, now this $700 console forces you to buy a disc drive separately in order to use your physical media that you already bought? Also forces you to buy a $30 stand separately despite them promoting the console standing up & the base PS5 literally came with them in the box. The greed & anti-consumer practices are only gonna get worse if they see people are willing to still buy these things. To each their own, spend your money as you please, but the power does lie in the consumer hands and it does determine the future of what any company will consider doing whether it’s for the better or worst.
The other massive problem here is the clear lack of competition. If Xbox stopped making a million versions of the same controller just in different colours and actually cared about their consoles, then Sony would have to be more cautious with their price tags But then, Microsoft is only shooting themselves in the foot with a shotgun

It just doesn't have enough going for it to make me want to sell my standard PS5 and buy a Pro. The issue is a lot of PS5 games already look pretty damn good (it's the whole "good art direction always beats higher graphical fidelity" thing) -- maybe not high-end gaming PC good, but they still have a lot of very good-looking games. This doesn't feel like a real leap forward yet.
Hope this system flops badly. Players need to send a message -- $700 is too much for a console, especially when you're not even going to allow physical games out of the box.

PS5 pro is only an inceremental upgrade from its predecessor. That should have also been reflected on the price, it should have the same or slightly higher price than sta dard PS5 and the former should have had a discount. Offering so little and bumping the price so high just does not make sense.
If people want to buy an overpriced mid gen update and don't want to wait for PS6 let them. The sales will be lower than all the other SKU's for the PS5 regardless of what they decide to do.

Every game utilizes PS5 hardware. Alan Wake 2 is 864p on PS5 and 1080p on PC, because PS5 is trash. A $100 GPU will play Alan Wake 2 in 1080p on a PC or a cheap I5 PC.
As someone who doesn’t own a ps5, I’m considering it tbh. If it’s not for you, then it’s not for you and that’s okay. No one is forcing you to buy it nor is Sony making it a necessity to own this console in order to play their lineup. It’s that simple. 3:56 The enhanced mode actually DOES look better than the base PS5's fidelity mode, but that's hardly the point of the Pro. The point was always to eliminate the need to choose between both modes on the base PS5, so even if the Pro only matches the graphical level of fidelity mode on the base PS5, then it's done it's job as long as it is also matching the framerate of PS5's performance mode as well.
Really, it's kinda silly that patches have to be applied to console games at all just to make adjustments to graphics settings. For console games, devs should let people fine-tune all the graphics settings while still having a "default" setting that is optimized for stability like normal.
So Sony brought you there to see comparisons between the base PS5 and the Pro so that you could make a video on it for them...but they only let you capture off-screen footage instead of the direct capture we would need to see any of these improvements. Cool.

But Sony still silent on their control sticks consistently developing drift in less than a year? I'm on my third PS5 controller, whereas the launch controllers lasted the lifespan of the console for PS2, 3, and 4.
