      This is a shady sponsorship my friend:
      With the exception of Product Key Cards (PKC’s) distributed with COA’s, Microsoft does not distribute products keys as standalone products.
      - If you see a listing on an auction site, online classified ad, or other online page advertising product keys for sale, it’s a good indication that the keys are likely stolen or counterfeit.
      - If you were to purchase and use a stolen or counterfeit product key to activate Windows installed on your PC, the key may not work for activation, may already be in use on another PC, or it might be blocked from use later by Microsoft when the key is reported stolen.

    There's no perfect TV but I think it's fair to say Bravia 9 is truly remarkable progress for MiniLED. Sony sprinkled magic dust on the backlight masterdrive (increase in zones and 22 bit precision) and it is just wonderful!

      All this to do a 50% brighter picture over OLED. And still small highlights unfortunately dimmer. 🤷‍♂️ much easier with self emissive pixels. Can’t believe they don’t offer 97”. They offer poor x90L but not their flagship.

      Sony rests on their laurels as a company but when they decide to innovate they definitely come out swinging, I don't think anyone expected a TV that looks almost as good as a $30k mastering monitor and trades blows with OLED in dark room performance.

    • @whitecrowuk575
      @whitecrowuk575 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @@Mike-jm5wt they can do indeed but I’m afraid they will lose the game. TCL is smashing in mini led space and with bigger better models available will definitely overtake that space. Whereas Samsung and LG already get close in processing to Sony, close enough that usually big price disparity doesn’t justify the difference. There will be only die hard Sony fans. I can see Sony selling its business down the line.

      The Bravia 9 is literally going to shock the world. It's going to win the King of TV's shootout this year (beating out both OLED and QD-OLED TVs) and that's going to make people heads explode all over the world! I have it already, it's great except be prepared for blooming. There absolutely is blooming and it's worse than the TV I just replaced, my 2018 Samsung Q8FN with only 40 dimming zones. Samsung at the time was prioritizing blooming control over everything so highlights were not spectacular however there was absolutely no blooming on this q8fn. Black level is insanely good and I prefer this kind of an algorithm. The Bravia 9 prioritizes blindingly bright highlights over blooming control and it really shows, I see quite a bit of blooming which is disappointing. That said it's not terrible.

I like HDR and QLED provides a much more impressive HDR experience. Do you think the 85” Hisense U8N or the 85” TCL 2024 QM8 will be somehow in the same level as the Sony Z9D or should I just save up and wait to get the 85” Bravia 9 or the 85” LG G4 on Black Friday? I mainly stream movies and some shows, watch a few soccer games here and there and play 4k blu-ray movies 2 or 3 times a month in my living room. 90% of the time I watch TV is at night. In terms of colours, Sony's TV's usually knocks it out of the park. I bought a ZF9 master series TV back in 2019 and now I can only buy Sony TV's because no other TV is capable of matching the colours of a Sony TV (and they look the most true to life to me). I'm not a Sony fanboy, I don't even have a PS5. I had their first wireless earbuds with noise cancelling, but did not opt to get a new Sony one because they tend to have battery issues (I don't know what it is with Sony and trash batteries. All of their earbuds have battery durability issues and their wireless controllers also all have battery durability issues).

    While I am quite happy to see manufacturers improving their LCD and OLED TVs year over year, I think we have long arrived at the point, where the quality of the content is holding things back for more than the quality of the Display. Pretty much the same thing as what we can see in terms of Audio. We have all these nice standards and formats, HDR, 4K60 or 4K120 with high clarity, brightness, contrast and everything, but frequently get HDR capped at less than 500nits or even SDR in an HDR container. Hollywood clings to 24p, thus destroying most of the advantages of 4K or even 1080p as soon as movement is involved or adds artificial "digital grain" etc.
    On the audio side, we are seeing Atmos mixes without actual object based audio, just static 7.1.2 or at most 7.1.4 and very little Surround Sound, let alone Heigt effects. In terms of Music, we get all kinds of high-resolution containers with the audio often having the potential of exceeding what humans can hear by several orders of magnitude but the actual recording being dynamically compressed, badly recorded, mushy and not even using the available bandwidth of something like a good old Audio CD.
    So yes, modern TVs, AVRs and Speakers are great, but the Content industry is way behind most of the time. Sorry for ranting...🧘‍♀️

    • @MichelleAlexandria-EM
      @MichelleAlexandria-EM 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve been saying this for years. Buying $5,000 tvs is stupid when the content itself will almost never justify that. There’s a reason almost all modern tvs look great when you watch Demo footage and footage from HDR Demo channels on TH-cam. Then you watch Netflix and other content a d it never matches that. Then you have a lot of directors you think the world looks dark and drab and no tv is going to make that content look better. Look at how Some scenes in Game of Thrones are shot, where it’s so dark you can’t see anything. A $5,000 fake “4,000 Nit” tv isn’t going to do much better than a $800 1,000 Nit TV.

      Thanks for asking. I certainly don’t want to tell you what to do or be a know-it-all, but I watch a LG B7 at night/pitch dark besides the tv of course. I keep the brightness down. That infinite contrast will be what gives the image a 3D “wet” pop. Nothing beats oled it the dark. Bright living room Bravia9 all day. If you love Sony processing which I hear it great, A80L 77 or 83. Bravia8 is not a big enough leap for the money. Well, the Bravia 9 to me looks like the best TV on the market for video viewing.... mainly because the colours just seem to be the most accurate for most part. It's basically closest to the reference monitor in like 95% of the cases.
    I did read about some 'bad' things related to gaming. But that was mainly from 1 source and just a few guys. Supposedly the response time is like 17-18 ms even in gaming mode when playing at 60 fps... which is only slightly better than my 2018 Z9F and far worse than some of Sony's own TV's from recent years. Well, it isn't a dealbreaker since I don't play competitively anyhow, but it is something to keep in mind at least (ideally it's something they can improve with a software update perhaps if the issue is caused by lack of software optimisation for gaming).

      Power usage is FAR lower on LCD TVs with Mini-LED back-lights than with similar size OLEDs! For example, about any model 65" LCD TV with Mini-LED back-lighting sold today, uses UNDER half the power at the same brightness level that any 65" OLED uses. OLEDs have NEVER been efficient in utilizing electrical power to produce a given level of brightness. A 2019 model Sony 77" A9G OLED we use in our basement theater room, has a maximum power use rating that's OVER 2 TIMES the maximum rated power usage of the 2014 Sharp 80" LCD TV (without Mini-LEDs) that I gave to a friend in Sept 2022, as we replaced the Sharp with Samsung's 85" QN90B LCD with Mini-LED back-lights.

    Last year, the 85-inch and 75-inch versions of the X95L model had different display panels, with the 85-inch version having a better panel. Therefore, if you bought the 65-inch or 75-inch X95L, you got a lower-quality panel compared to the 85-inch. How are things this year with the Bravia 9 (XR90)? Does the display quality vary depending on the display size? Are there any differences in sound or other features based on the display size?

      @nikolajovanovic3647 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@madpistol If you compare them side by side, the difference in contrast is so big, no amount of extra SDR brightness is going to make up for it. Unless you want your eyes soaring. In HDR, in over 95 percent of scenes, the brightness difference is minimal. B9 suffers additional problems as blooming, bad input lag for all gamers, it is more expensive, has bad grey uniformity, lower color gamut, and also has very, very bad viewing angles.

      I literally had both of those TV's side-by-side in my dark, well designed room and kept the 83" G4. The OLED black details are more pure compared to the Bravia 9, where the LCD's more purplish blacks are apparent.

    @stopthefomo - Can you comment more on the off axis viewing? This seems like one of the biggest compromises. You mention specular highlights but RTINGS really had an issue with off axis quality. Many of us OLED lovers are concerned about off axis viewing. You seem to gloss over it.

Black Level at 48 and/or Gamma at 2.3. Like I posted in the live chat, I think that gets you closer to reference with a bit less clouding/blooming based on some feedback AVS users have posted and my own experience with previous QM850 firmware.
