Another TH-cam poster asked me about this and I thought it might be useful for those new to the hobby or those looking to get an explanation of how it works.
Brian, glad the videos helped. When I started out, and before I started to build Helis/quads, I was lucky and all the models that I ordered were setup correctly. I still remember the first time I installed a Spektrum Rx into a Belt CP Heli and spent a week worrying about how to set it up so it didn't destroy itself, or me, the next time I turned it on! Happy flying, hope the Storm is flying well again..
Your two videos on servos, swash plate movement, and controller settings are great. Now I know why my RTB Storm 430 Metal edition ended up damaging the blades, bending the main shaft, and taking out three teeth of the main gear (not pinion). I am using a Devo 8s and it was set up at the factory for the helo I purchased (it was all in one go). Oddly, I don't know how in the world it passed QC when it was on 1 servo (it's a 3x120°) and the left servo was out of sync. Wish I'd found this sooner.
Not yet. The pitch curve is off and I'm looking for a good bit of documentation on how to best set that up for normal flight, same with throttle curve for someone who is new. I've ordered replacement parts for the drive shaft and main rotor gears. I did get it to stay level, if not get it to fly. LOL That's a start!
Sounds like you're messed up something in the setup. Hard to offer specifics without knowing a lot more about the swash setup, if you're using a flybarless system etc... Happy flying
Great video, very helpful on setting up my first helicopter. Easy to follow.

Painless thanks
Great video
Does the swosh tilt with just two motors? Howany degrees does it tilt? Can you explain further. Thank you!
Swash plates can use only two servos. Usually setup on the radio as 90 degree swash. Happy flying
Thank you Painless360
Thanks!!!
What about for gyroscopic precession? I thought the swash plate was suppose to move 90 degrees relative to input?
If the swash is setup like this (check the manual for your heli) then the rest works..
is sure does. thanks
Is the swash type in the video a normal 90 degree or 180?
120 degree..
when I move my collective stick up the swashplate tilts to the left, any suggestions on how to fix that?
