Hi John, just a quick message to say thanks for the very informative video, it was short enough to keep it interesting, but it still manged to cover all the topic in sufficient detail. Well done. [Edit:] Seeing as the other comments all mention where the folks are from, you can now add Scotland to the list :-)
Hi John, I LOVE your video's. After 20 years of fixed wing I bought a Nano S2 and I love flying heli's, I really like scale birds and that is what I would focus on. If you have any hints or tips please do not hesitate and reply
Is it possible for me to put in order for eg. a sawshplate ? How can that work ? I live in Sierra Leone in West Africa. Please get back to me if you can. Tks.
I don't understand your question "How would I get a swashplate". I don't know... how would you? Would you get it off your helicopter or would you purchase a replacement from the hobby shop? That's your call.
Suppliers for what, the bearings or the swash? Swash would be any hobby shop or distributor that caries your specific brand heli. Bearings can be found at any good bearing supply outlet. Boca Bearing for example.
Sorry, I don't know what TBS is, at least in relation to swashplates. If you are referencing TBE (toilet bowl effect), it's usually caused by a phase lag in the flybar so the stabilization correction occurs too late in the cyclic and TBE is produced. It was notoriously common on small micro fixed pitch helis, especially coaxial ones with low head speeds and low mass flybars. I even wrote an article on it a number of years back and how to cure it: www.rchelicopterfun.com/toilet-bowl-effect.html On electronic stabilized helicopters (flybarless), I've never encounter TBE myself but I've heard if the FBL system is not sitting level in relation to the rotor disc that can set it up on some FBL systems. On GPS autopilot systems, the usual cause of TBE is poor compass calibration.
Nice one John, learned something again. cheers from Germany. Ruedi
Thanks Ruedi (a little late - sorry).
instaBlaster.
I have seen many animated videos on swashplate but your video give more clear cut idea about swashplate.

I see my goblin 700 swash wobbling a little. Worn out bearing? Have not checked further today.
Thank you very much is very helpful
John, can you do a video on maintenance of the popular FlyWing FW40 Heli? Your videos are invaluable to all of us in the Heli community. Thanks, Jeff
I cover collective pitch heli maintenance basics in my setup & tips eBook - whole chapter on it. www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-helicopter-tips.html
Very good
I second Gustavo Sganzerla's comment
What sort of pins that you use on that spanner? I tried using steel nails and it just bent. Align 600 swashplate is really tough to unscrew
I use hardened (high carbon) nails.

I don't sell parts, you would have to contact a hobby shop or look online.
Do you have to grease the bearings?
If they need it.
Very nice
may I know the materials for this one pls? thank you
Nice very helpfull but would please tell me how would i get a swashplate???
