In 1971, I was a 20 year student. I bought this watch and made $7.45 a month payments on it. After watching your show I found the watch! It still works! Not bad for a $90 watch. Oh ya, thanks to Goodman's Jewelry for selling it to me.

@@WatchCrunchOfficial I appreciate the advice! I’ve seen a couple for sale by grey market dealers, although they’re priced pretty high and never on a bracelet. Definitely keeping my eye for the right one, thanks again!

Love the rich history and beauty of this time piece, definitely a great conversation starter, and one to add in the collection box!
A great find indeed, thanks Max!

As I mentioned a couple years back on another posting I had this watch stolen in Vietnam in 1969 while serving with the 7th Marine Regiment. Bought it in '68 on layaway from a jewelry store in San Diego for $100! Loved that watch. Often wonder where it might be today. Hope the SOB that stole it was KIA...

My 7004A is an early model that was gifted to my father by my grandparents when he started his Navy career in 1969. Although it did not go to the moon I often think about all of the exotic places it went with him during his 20yrs as a submariner during the Cold War era.

Amazing video, Max. I really enjoyed it. I found your video because I did a search for a watch my grandfather gave me about 20 years ago when I was still really young- and it wasn’t until I got into watches as a hobby that I realized how special his gift was: it is a 1960s Wittnauer Professional World-Time Chronograph 7004B. There are NO videos online about this watch. I really hope you do one in the future on the 7004B!

@@WatchCrunchOfficial mine is a 61' with water damage hands, witch has a beautiful wet cardboard color (trust me it looks good) all of my markers are still intact and well patinaed and I have the regular hour hand instead of the arrow (witch I preffer) my bezel is lightly damaged on the edgest but nothing to bad

It was the Longines-Wittnauer 235T with a Valjoux 72 movement. The Rolex was the Rolex 6238 that has the same Valjoux 72 movement. Omega contrasts their 321 caliber vs. the Valjoux 72 as being more durable in extreme situations with more vibrations.

Longines / Wittnauer made some beauties! The only other red bezel chrono I can think of is the gold plated Speedmaster Mark II.

I have a Wittnauer 3525/14A that is very similar: red bezel, black dial, and a 7733 but it has silver subdials, different hands, and larger tritium markers. They both are bargains compared to the Longines 30CH 7981-3 (which I would love to own)
