      @@obligatedfool19but it was presented as a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of each suspension type. and it was done on 3 different cars with insanely different chassis and body dynamics that they're uncomparable. stiff coilovers on a more flexible chassis could realistically feel similar to softer air suspension on a rigid chassis.

      @@Martyzx_GTR which is why I said it would've been a "better" apples to apples, not that this comparison is useless. Different chassis are going to handle differently with the same suspension components, they could've put the same coils in all 3 cars and they would've handled differently.

    Could you guys make a G37 Vs Genesis video. I'm stuck between which one to buy

    • @FutureKLX300SMowner
      @FutureKLX300SMowner 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you can get a bk2 genesis, get that over a G37. the BK1 generation had less power and TSC/ESP that was very limiting and annoying.
      if you want to build your car for power, get a bk2 2.0t.
      If you don't care too much about big engine mods, get a bk2 3.8. the power curve of the 3.8 is very similar to the vq35 but with more torque on the high end making it a bit more fun to drive. it also sounds and looks way better(especially the R-Spec with the factory upgraded exhaust and spoiler)
      that being said, where I am g37s that are completely loaded are close in price with mid trim genesis coupes so if your looking for a decent daily with more creature comforts, maybe look at g37's first.
      I'd also recommend looking at q50's they've come down a bit in price recently making them a fairer comparison to the Genesis coupe.
      you can get a 2013 Q50 with the 3.7vq as well as a 48v hybrid system which will help with gas mileage if you live somewhere with high gas prices.
      the G37/35/Q50 probably has slightly more aftermarket support but both are very popular platforms and I don't think you'll have any trouble finding parts for either, but the Genesis might have less options
      hope this helped 🤷‍♂️

  • @joeleonard9965
    @joeleonard9965 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    As a mechanical engineer, every single experienced racing engineer will tell you the optimal setup is a stiff/rigid chassis with as soft of suspension as you can make drivable. Then you have dampening which takes way more trial and error than most people are capable of doing while not being employed to do so. You've already made your car slower if you stiffen the suspension right off the bat. Tires bouncing are not great at putting power down.

    • @Swedenfiree
      @Swedenfiree 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep on road, or circuit like nordshleife basically more travel you have = better is performance and for like 90% of car, putting coilover to lower the car reduce performance. But on track or nice flat road I am not really sure about that!

    • @darronpattel
      @darronpattel 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of people now a days change their suspension for aesthetic reasons only though lol.
      Was looking at the GR 86 and thought the susp needed to be lowered but my mind was fooling me because I had a second glance and realized the tires they put on it are just too skinny looking.
      They're just going with them cus they're michellin pilot sport 4s so their the popular ones at the moment, but some slightly thicker (maybe a slightly less grippy) Yokohama, or falken tires would be more suited to it most likely.

    • @joeleonard9965
      @joeleonard9965 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@darronpattel Which you've touched on another super important point, low profile tires and not enough sidewall will also severely hamper your ride. There is a trade off of course as I've driven old balloon tires but the trend of low profile tires on corollas from the factory is dumb.

      U might as well replace them both since you're in there. If u want to make more power, then get a single mass flywheel. If u don't care for power and prefer a smoother drive, then stick with a dual mass flywheel. Also replace ur clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder. I replaced all of that in my Altima and noticed a huge difference
