      I think what you mean to say is Coilovers are Superior for competitive track and Air suspension is superior for daily use on public roads.
      Potholes and speed bumps are not exclusive to where you live. There's also steep driveways and inclines . Turning these daily obstacles into non factors is where air suspension is superior. It's versatility on the fly.
      I run both static and air suspension. Each of them serve a purpose and at the end of the day your setup depends greatly on what you plan to do with your vehicle.

      @@sethwell2552 basically converts your coilovers to “bags” except it’s not a bag it’s an air cup it goes on top of your coilovers so when you’re driving you’re on coils with the static feeling but when there’s speed bumps you hit a switch on your front goes up about 2 inches and you can clear them a lot easier, kits come with air tank compressor and so on, it’s not recommended to drive “aired up” because it’ll be super bumpy and could damage the cup system itself

    I think by spring time. I'll be having an air bag suspension installed for two reasons. The cool factor of course, and also to prevent someone from sliding a jack under my truck while I'm sleeping and stealing my wheels or catalytic converter. As a young kid in the 90s, I've always dreamt of having hydraulics to show off. But I knew a guy who had hydraulics and man that's a really uncomfortable ride. I think air bags would give me all that I want.

    • @blkeclipsel2400
      @blkeclipsel2400 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@demetriixx9964maintenance cost is next to nothing if you buy the correct maintenance components with the kit. Smc check valve with the ability to disassemble and clean yourself ($25.00). Electric tank drain kit. ($65.00)
      Water trap (from $25.00 to $55.00)
      Maintenance itself is basically free afterwards unless something goes out or gets damaged from being installed incorrectly.
      Maintenance mainly consists of purging water from your tank and keeping your system dry. With the electric drain kit all you have to do is push a button. I've had airlift on my daily driver for 2 summers and 2 winters and the only thing I've had to do is disassemble and clean my smc check valves as they can eventually seize. Took me 30 minutes and only had to do once so far. I also had to reconfigure the system which takes maybe 5 minutes while on a flat surface.
      Other than that I personally chose to hose down my bags every time I wash my car.

      Dude s @demetriixx9964 how do you think threads on coil overs are gonna fair in those same conditions? In those conditions I would just run nice static non-coilover setup like some B8's or something. You can try to clean coat your coils when you first get em and paint the the threads up with anti-sieze but you will absolutely loose that battle, just a question of how fast.

      As a reminder, and as stated in the video, heavy duty trucks like long haul tractor/trailer's, firefighter trucks/engines, etc. all run air suspension. Even driving in the northern cold in winter. You'll be fine with basic maintenance, clearing out the condensation from time to time, etc. I would argue they fare better in winter. Because if you're driving this in the winter and snow it's not a garage queen or tack day whip.
      I had Airlift system (3/8" dual pump) and winter i had zero issues. In fact the winter and salt seemed to affect my KW V3 worse - at least on surface areas. Of course YMMV

    It depends heavily on what your budget and build is. What ppl fail to do is being informed about what they are getting themselves into. It's more than just slapping on a set of coilovers or air suspension on your car. That's where ppl form the wrong idea about the product and then start to be biased about the product. There is alot of wrong information out there and on the web. It's up to the person weather they can differentiate whats truth or false. #getinformed

      @@Prestiged_peckthe greatest benefit of air suspension is not having to drag ass while driving. Air suspension can be factory height, lower than factory height, higher than factory height and slammed when parked. All at the push of the button real time.
      There are 5 height preset options along with the option to adjust each corner manually.
      The only suspension that forces someone to drag ass is coilovers. Until you lift the car and remove each wheel to adjust .

    I think I'm going to go with the airlift suspension because I'm going to be using a truck and most of my weight in the bag is going to come from the fuel cell and whenever it loses fuel because I'm driving on the street and what not I can have the adjustability right there

    Just curious if anyone has run or is currently running Gecko Racing Coilovers. Looking at them for my 95 Mustang Gt but haven't seen very many reviews or many running them on their ride. They are right around the $900 price point so they don't seem to be built cheap. Just wish I knew more about them before I pull the trigger on purchasing.

    Sorry… Newbie question… I’d like a lowered Daily/Band hauler… I want to murder out a Ecoboost Ford Flex with air-ride suspension so I can lower it, my question is with the heavy weight will the raising and lowering suspension break under the added heavy weight with large band equipment??? And would I be able to drive it lowered with band equipment in the back???

    • @FitmentIndustries
      @FitmentIndustries  ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be just fine! You’ll be able to adjust the pressure in the rear if you have something heavier back there!

      The air shock absorber will help you automatically recognize that when you encounter a bumpy road, it will automatically raise the height of the car so that the car can drive better.

    If you want to ride with negative chamber and destroy your expensive tires, then air shocks are the least of your worry's. Shocks are meant to keep the tire tread touching the ground. You have less than 1/8th sq ft touching rubber to the road, otherwise you might as well put bicycle tires on all four corners. Just make sure the spokes & bearings are heavy enough. I see this next to me on the road, I am getting far away. See you in a ditch on the local news.

    For me I have a air suspension on the rear and coilovers in the front the front is soft and hard just when it's needed the air suspension on the rear is just hard at all air pressures it's just super uncomfortable if you just want to cruze not drive hard but when you drive hard it's hard all of the time so it's good in my experience to make airbags softer you have to run a small tank to add volume to the bag with only half inch or bigger lines anything less than half inch will be hard and not many system are compatible with 1/2 inch lines or you can just run bc racing coilovers DR series with swift springs and air cup's that's what I am starting to run but I am also running tein coilovers EDFC pro system with custom software and it's Tide in with the air cup to add superer suspension control

I'm not a bags fan cause it's overdone and overrated imo but I think Ima need them and besides getting low is getting low I just gotta get used to that idea and I'll probably run the bag coils thing you said at the end. Anyone got any idea how to run those things or really any lowering kit i.e. bags, coils, the weird hybrid at the end or any other kit on a '77 camaro? Yeah my ride is probably more unique than what most kids are running today 😂
