Hey Wayne, I appreciate your explanation for coolant leaks. I think it's important to note where the common leaks are in this car. There's a main coolant pipe that fails behind the engine (happened to me) and is the most common leak on this car. You will never be able to see the leak by looking under the hood. Also, the reservoir itself leaks near the bottom (by the main hose). This can be visually inspected. The thin pipes that come out from the reservoir to the engine will probably break when if you replace the reservoir, so have those two pipes handy (also happened to me)! Lastly, there are hoses in front of the drive belt system that may leak. If they do, the belts can spit the coolant up to the top of the engine. Thanks for the video! Hope this helps!
It depends on what coolant you buy, some are premixed and some are not. Read the bottle you buy. Also depends on what year. I just found out 2014 and older Benz take different coolant than the newer ones. Just make sure to do your research before hand :)
@@mateoleo1 I believe so! Gardevski swapped the turbos on his M278 for AMG M157. He claimed the difference between the setups (besides intercooler pump) is the turbo cooling. That is, the M278 is oil-air while M157 adds water cooling. I suggest you look into his turbo modification as it contains several pictures and information. Hope this helps!
Hey I have a question for you have you ever changed your lower control arms I went in for service and they recommended it I only have 52,000 miles on it 2015 S550
I have changed it, not me personally, but my mechanic on other cars I use to have. Is your lower arm cracked or making noise? Did they give you a good explanation?

Each manufacturer has their own antifreeze for their cars. If you step out of that recommendation, you will pay the price. This is from experience from my younger days.
So coolant goes into the windshield water fluid to keep it warm? Would it be common for coolant to come out of the wipers then? I feel like I saw some coolant come out one time on my w222
Our cars do not have a power steering reservoi. You will need to put your car on a lift and have a mechanic turn the steering wheel while another mechanic check underneath the car.
My car is s550 e 2016. There is a box under the hood that says system battery. I don’t know what it contains, and there is red water in it. Can you help me?
@@a.m.ks.a808 I would assume the radiator but to be 100% sure, I would call your Mercede Benz parts department or just visit a local MB dealership parts department and ask them, better yet take a picture of it and show them. It definitely time well spent if you go in-person.

Aren’t you supposed to mix the antifreeze with distilled water 50-50? I think it says on the box.
I never do that. I always buy from the dealership and pour the bottle straight in the reservoir. Until this point I've never had a problem.

Yea bro u supposed to pre mix 50 parts coolant and 50 parts distilled water and it's a violet or blue color not pink

Coolant is in the metal pipes that is in the coolant reservoir

Red is the color I would say. To be sure make sure you go to the dealership to buy it first. They will ask for your VIN to give you the correct one
