    I’ve got one I’m doing some custom work to.
    I’ve machined off all the bosses in the valley.
    Bored it out to 4.125
    Glad to see how the front of this bolts together.
    I just bought a bare block that came from a core supplier.
    Going back with the stock crank but using some aftermarket rods.
    I’m also using LS3 heads so I’ve got LS 3 pistons as well.
    I’m just not up to the direction injection at this time.
    Plan on doing more work to these going forward.
    Thanks for the help with the brackets as well.

    I just got my 3500 with the 6.6, it's doing good so far. Since you are experienced with the L8T, can you say if it has piston oil squirters/coolers ? I can find images of an empty block , but no good ones looking directly into the belly of the block with the crank still installed.

      @@-Primer- no problem all the Gen V LT have them except for the L84 so far that I have seen , unless you get a re worked machined block , like a stroker motor. Depending on the stroke the oil squirters would have been modified or even deleted.

    I just bought a 3 mile L8T for a customer’s Jeep LT swap. Wants a bigger cam put in it. This sounds like my only option without doing a custom grind. I’ll have to find the specs on this cam. Great video guys!!

      Yes nothing on the market yet I imagine it’s because of the stroke difference between the 6.2 and the 6.6 , also not many people running the 6.6 vs the 6.2 and 5.3 so it would be a smaller market. Thanks for watching have a great weekend

    • @JustCantSitStill
      @JustCantSitStill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 4 bolts with plastic inserts line the pump up where it needs to be, once the pan bolts & plastic inserts are in there is no movement, the pan pick up oring takes care of the seal.

    You need to change those valve springs..stock lt1-lt5 are the same and will work..unfortunately the l8t and 5.3 share the same weaker spring

      @JustCantSitStill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment and for watching we got a few L83 on the road running LT4, LT5, 6.2 cams and they have not had any issues.
      That being said we always recommend spring and trunnion upgrades but it not always in everyone’s budget.
      Not a huge difference in lift from the l8t cam to the LT5, .502/.494 to .551/.524
      This particular engine was supposedly getting an LT4 supercharger and will probably be a trailer queen anyway.

    Nice work, quick question I got 6.6 L8T block wanna install a custom grind cam in it, does it have to be specific for the L8T or any gen 5 custom cam work?

    • @JustCantSitStill
      @JustCantSitStill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is a great question as no off the shelf cams are listed for the L8T 6.6 , theoretically the block is the same so a 6.2 cam would be good to go however with the increase stroke of the L8T you may run into clearance problems. Long as you do your homework and definitely check push rod lengths needed you should be ok. I would definitely contact Texas Speed and speak with them too. @texasspeed
      A lot of people are running the 6.6 cam in the 6.2 as a cheap DoD delete.

    Would the 6.6 rotating assembly , crank, rods and pistons swap into the 6.2 l86 aluminum block? And are all of the LT cylinder heads interchangeable? 5.3, 6.2 and 6.6 heads swap around on different Lt shortblocks? I'm very interested in this Gen V LT series! I have always played with the Gen 1 SBC and never touched an LS. I'm thinking of doing a swap in my old pickup, but wanna go straight to the Gen V LTs! So fascinated with these engines now!

    • @JustCantSitStill
      @JustCantSitStill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 6.6 block has a longer cylinder wall because of the longer stroke of the 6.6 , so I am not sure if it would be a stock of stock swap. The heads are different as the combustion chamber are smaller larger etc, the LT4 heads have titanium intake valves and also more intake bolt holes to accommodate the supercharger. Hope that helps I am definitely not a expert in all the differences.

      We have done a lot of LS builds before I was videoing TH-cam , we have just about stopped doing the LS unless someone brings one in that’s complete and not missing everything and is not a piece of crap. We prefer the LT’s to us they are superior builds and make a lot of power stock.

    • @dragus213
      @dragus213 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      all heads are interchangeable in respect to bore, the 6.6l heads are rumoured to be as good as lt1 heads, your l86 or any other aluminum block is going to need a bore out and extended sleeves. hell you can put ls heads and intake on an gen v lt block with a dowel swap kit.
      Lil bits and pieces I have picked up from vendors and builders so far on this performance monster of an engine.
