She’s coming along, keep it up.
Thanks buddy we trying
Nice...thanks.
It's the balance shaft.
Would an lt4 cam be good for a l83 with a Whipple supercharger?
@ntme9 since the LT4 has a supercharger I don’t see why it wouldn’t, however mass amounts of aftermarket cams are available that would probably make more power. If your on a budget or have a free LT4 cam go for it. I will add the LT4 cam is still a DoD cam so the lobe ramp rates are different from a non DoD cam , but nothing a turner can’t fix. Without a proper tune you may experience miss fire codes.
@JustCantSitStill I'm looking for an off the shelf cam that would be a good fit. I also don't want to lose a ton of gas mileage. I only lost 0.5 mpg adding the Whipple (at 17mpg on long trips ATM) . I'd be ok with another 0.5 mpg lose or even 1 but if it's going to drop down to 12mpg that's not worth it to me. Also don't want to wait a month to have one cut
@ Texas speed and BTR have cams ready to ship.
Your meter is WAY off these run at 66 d at 8 ft. and in the house with doors and windows shut they are about 10 d. We install 500 units a year ALL brands. Your meter is bad.
@@oldtimer3180 how do I know your meter is good, I think yours is busted.

It's front Brake pad slap/slop common issue.. Happens forward and reverse and when you get in and out since the truck shifts a bit with your weight..
Not on mine but yes I have heard of that happening mine still does not have the pad slop.
Very useful video! Getting one put in today. PS- Live in Houston. Thanks!
❤looking great 👍
Thanks 🙏
If you do not mind how much was it for everything? Installation and generator together. Trying to decide what’s worth it for me. Solar or generator

Looking good fellas. Coming along nicely.
Thanks buddy!
If you don’t mind, how much natural gas did you use during 36 hour. As far as pricewise.? Thanks
With the generator running , both furnaces, gas fire place and water heater it cost me a little less than 17$ more than normal for the bill cycle.
Wow, an off season discount?
2024. A Generac sales person/technician said that with my 30000 square-foot home with a 3 ton air conditioner and a 1.5 ton air conditioner that I need a 26 kW generator… But you have slightly less square footage and higher powered air conditioners, but you only need a 22 kW?
@@Eli-qr9hc water heater stove , oven, dryer?
@@JustCantSitStill sorry I had to re-edit what I wrote, voice texting… I was wondering if I could’ve gotten by with a 22 kW
Possibly depends on your appliances in my other reply
How many coats of primer and paint does your father do on the engine and transmission? Nice job I watch all your videos…
2 primer 2 to 3 on color it depends on weather and humidity and color , thanks for the support and the comment we appreciate you

Oh they are very loud. My next door neighbor has one and it runs a test mode every Wednesday around noon. Nothing worse during a power outage is not being able to sleep because of the neighbors generator

@ thanks for watching brother
When there is a crisis and you lose power noise is the last thing you should be worrying about.
The neighbors hate you because you have power and they don’t !
Looks like an L87
Definitely not. But they do look similar, valley cover gives it away.
That's really loud !!!!😊
Thank you for ypur video but PLEASE BE CAREFUL if any water leaks into of those outdoor panels it shorts put the module . The module will.make generator shut down and you getvall these ERROR messages and you have to get Generac engineer out to fix it .
Thanks for watching and the comment!

Yea ,just broke a head bolt off in a Gen V L83, new bolt , don't know how I'm going to get it out ! I wish u would give me some torque specs that work for y'all .
@@TroyPrewitt-fm7ic ARP bolt ?
@@JustCantSitStill no sir , the bolt I broke was a factory copy ,I think DJS . Now Im going to take it to machine shop to get it drilled out & repair threads etc . What is a decent torque settings y'all use on the Heads for L83 , now I'm definitely not going to torque to factory specs anymore . Do you think 65lbs would be good for OEM Head bolts Gen5 L83 ?
@@TroyPrewitt-fm7ic on new oem bolts we follow oem specs. For arp we do 55-75-100 , for used oem bolts or questionable bolts we would do 50-70-80 ish , on my dads I had one that would not reach 85, just kept stretching
@@TroyPrewitt-fm7ic 65 should be okay these mls gaskets seal up very well , make sure the threads in the block are clean.

Hey man love this video. Looking to do the same sorta. Lq4 6L, wiseco flat top pistons so basically a lq9. 799 heads. Do you know what the compression ratio would be?
Awesome thanks for watching! I would not have a clue about the compression ratio.

I just recently hooked up my generator and the battery seems to go dead within a week. Do you know where the built-in trickle charger is located? I’m wondering if that’s not what’s wrong
I just purchased a generac powerpact generator. So far I have used 3 batteries and within 3-4 days before the test exercise the batteries are dead. If anyone can help, I need to know what’s the best GU1 12 V with minimum 300CCA. Help
Sounds like a money pit.
One battery since installation so……………..not really
They were definitely coming in through the hole, not the slack at the top of the cover. They couldn't negotiate that.
I have a 22kw, and the sound is very low.
I like the sign that says restricted area live fire range👍🏼2A all the way..

Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
Great video.
Are u torquing the bolts to spec?
I believe I did the first time I did this , it’s 101ftlbs but this time I just tightened till it felt right.
I am retired and still young enough to do work by hand. I have 12500W portable (1150W on propane) I have to plug it in to its 50A outside receptacle. I store it in my garage and roll it out when I need it. I then lock out street power and switch to it. I have enough Propane to run for 2 days. I am in PA. High up where I can't flood and we practically never have natural disasters. Cost $1500 for generator and all other electrical parts I installed my self. We don't lose power very often and its not a matter of survival we just get bored with no TV or internet and my wife is disabled so it's very convenient.
Nice work! Thanks for watching please subscribe like and share
Say no to GENERAC...they are big time ESG supporters....read about ESG it is at the bottom of their web page shows they support ESG.....left wing social garbage.
th-cam.com/video/HklqmAgtBOg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fATYYzfmWSD06pCh
Great work you definitely want to get all wiring working before the seat installation. QC does exist today like it did in the past years i guess no accountability.
Was a good day ! Nice to see a few things work. Electrical issues can ruin a build I want this one to be right.
Got the switch moved I will post a pic on the community page
Why do Americans have this stuff outdoors for? Boxes and everything mounted on the outside of the wall, someone could mess with it.
@@eriklarsson3188 they would have to be in my backyard….so on my private property……Texans don’t play
Were I live there is no one to mess with your stuff. As well my house and yard are covered by 6 camera's. Plus Smith and Wesson. You want these things as far away as feasible they are extremely loud. I f you have close neighbors these are as annoying as hell.
If your generator ran off electricity it’d be quieter and more environmentally friendly.
Kinda defeats the purpose. If you have electricity you don’t need it…. NG burns extremely clean so ……
@@JustCantSitStill You’re using common sense. That’s not acceptable on the left. Electricity only! You should cover your house with windmills and solar panels
