The devs have done something right though for sure. I've eased up the give on hook epidemic in my games. If I see someone going next on first hook, I use reassurance on them, then right when they're about to go second I shoulder the burden them then reassure them next hook too.
Understandable about not wanting to make videos about things going on in DbD cause of people saying you're on one side of the other but I won't say I don't miss those videos because I like to listen to how people see things to see if I agree and not and most things I agree with. I just love people's thoughts on things I have thoughts on.
Tribalism is a tough cookie to overcome. For the most part, it kept our species alive. It's why we wound up dominating the world. You still see it expressed in many forms in the modern day. From sports to video games and everything in between. It's almost instinct to put oneself and others into a tribe or category (or etc). We can try to learn not to let it dictate us so much, tho. Like, we're all different, but we should celebrate our differences; instead of trying to hate each other for them or do away with different opinions. Those who try to silence others so that they can be heard really are the worst offenders for sure. You see that happening a lot in the modern world, and it's tragic when that anti-culture leaks into video game communities. I'm pretty sure most ppl play video games to escape the awful state of reality (at least I know that I do). And when ppl bring that energy with them to a place it doesn't belong, then it turns the community into a toxic cesspool. I probably didn't make a coherent point that whole comment. My bad; I'm poor at communication. Just wish we all could learn to look past our differences and all get along. Nothing wrong with competetion (I don't view that as toxic). But some ppl really do be taking the game too seriously. At the end of the day; it's just a game. And it shouldn't be a source of so much pain and suffering. Honestly, the ones acting like this genuinely pisses me off to extreme levels, ESPECIALLY if like you said... they make this into a personal thing. Judging an actual person this harshly, based on their opinions about a fucking game is just depressing, no matter if it's a positive or negative opinion... that's just a disgusting opinion. I'm a killer main but i also play survivor. I recently got back into the game as of today, cause i took a break to clear my head for a few months and think on my behaviour. Cause, admittedly before, i had a not so positive mindset. But, thinking on it i realize I'm being childish and i should just try to enjoy the game, cause as you said, its just a pile of pixels at the end of the day. Going in today with that mindset, i found myself just genuinely having fun and not caring. Only time I'd get upset is at myself, like "ah, i shouldn't have swung there" or "i wasn't paying attention, so they got that stun for free."
I think a salt system that steadily grows the more you leave, or quit, or give up on hook early on. And you get matched with players of similar salt scores
I have something that everyone dismisses me on. Personally gets annoying when I say Skull Merchant is very bugged and shouldnt of gotten nerfed and I get called names or simply get told who cares. The DbD community has made their voice heard and made it aware that I do not matter. And it kinda feels the devs feel the same way.
I for real thought this video was gonna be about stances, like fighting game lingo. I saw the thumbnail and was like, "Well ok, i guess wraith can be considered a stance character, how the hell does trapper have a stance?" 😂

the DBD community has some absolutely insane people in it, my wife had posted some art and after getting in a disagreement with someone they hacked her twitter and email and tried to log into her bank account with the doxed info thankfully 2 factor fix a bit of the issues, currently we hired a private investigator who specializes in computers, and begun the process of legal prosecution but since there in another country its fairly tricky, but its insane that someone would be willing to commit multiple felonies over DBD options, and while his country might decide to not do anything about it hel end up having a warrant if he ever travels to the usa.
Honestly, I see some people defending Houndmaster's bugs because due to her poor release, overwhelming hatred and mockery being put everywhere online is going to cause her and her players to be just as targeted and vilified as Skull Merchant players are. While I absolutely agree she needs major fixing, it doesnt stop the fact that she is a TON of fun (yes I understand fun is subjective, but I personslly along with others have had a blast playing her even despite losing matches because her power is just so enjoyable to use), and seeing literally everyone on every platform insulting and mocking the new killer makes it feel like a repeat scenario. Thats just kind of my take on all the defensive comments. I do think Houndmaster needs help, but she's not another hopeless case with a HIP SWAY like a ton of other creators are claiming. So yeah people are gonna be defensive about something they really enjoy. I mean you've already seen the damage this community can do to killers they don't like.

Like the oher day I asked about the new compass perk and how I figured you hate it, and if you did or didn't you'd have a good reason to and that would be worth understanding or considering even if I personally do or don't agree. Quiet simply the community couldn’t care less so why should i? If you gen rush I will do whatever to secure a kill If you tunnel il do whatever it takes to escape, I’m just tired of the toxicity if I find a chill fun survivor il have fun with them but if your a sweaty toxic knob I’m making it as miserable as possible for you…I do not give a crap anymore especially that their not even giving us any information on houndmasters bug fixes but their throwing themselves at the feet of survivors because of the totem buffs
I mean this in the upmost respect. I've been playing killer since 2016 and I've used all the nasty tactics under the sun. Its my favorite part of DBD; from hyper specific gimmicks to game ruining 5 gen victories cheese. This has also allowed me to witness its community from the dullest and brightest light. The kinds of reactions to certain playstyles often changed with the additions of a profile banner/picture, you can give yourself some identity past your steam/console account. Depending on what you display (battle pass/pride/event) will often change peoples reactions to you.

I’ve often use this as a metaphor for when I use to put out reworks or ideas for DbD and where I hoped to get “your idea on ‘X’ may be a bit much as it doesn’t feel there’s counter play”. Instead I got the usual DbD take “you don’t match my mindset therefore you are stupid, useless and should crawl into a pit and never return”. So much of the gaming community on anything remotely competitive follows this mindset.
You guys are out here fighting for scraps from BHVR and it’s sad. If you have to rely on a game community to play that game a certain way, actively avoiding certain mechanics available, it’s not a good game and the community, in general, will gaslight each other for any little inconvenience. I wish everyone would just play the game as they want, use every in game mechanic available as they see fit to win, and let the chips land where they land. If the game fails then it’s 100% on the devs. No other player is responsible for your fun or my fun, BHVR is.
