as someone who uses Wake Up, i'm loving the buff it's getting. though i've done what i'd say is 50/50 on SWF's vs Solo Q's. i've never really paired it up with Sole Survivor, cause i can think of other ideas for perks to fill that spot honestly
He has a lot of snowball potential, which i love. But more importantly, his addons can create diverse ways to play him (from focusing on the different aspects of his power).
I'm afraid of how optimally he will play considering how fast his power recharges while slugging. honestly clocks just shouldn't have a cooldown. imo high C tier first impressions and could be high b tier or even Oni level depending on the flow of his slugging potential
Absolutely love the changes, only thing is I think dream pallets need a little bit more love. Don't think they should be able to stun you, there shouldnt be the visual distinction as fooling survivors with them was kinda the point before, and the blast radius should be a little bit bigger but other than that amazing changes!
I think it should be one or the other, dream pallets should be obvious but impactful or sneaky but ineffective, not entirely one way or entirely the other. Running to a pallet that looks normal and getting downed randomly is unfair, if you run to a pallet _knowing_ it's a dream pallet and choose to stay near it to try and go for a stun then it's deserved. My only complaint is that Survivors can drop the pallet _before_ it explodes, cancelling the effect. Survivors will always just predrop the pallet to avoid the risk of going down and they aren't punished for it _at all._
I think Freddy is gonna be a Solid middle of the pack B Tier imo around Dredge/Doctor level, the new buffs especially to his Teleporting ability able to get across the map especially in the endgame now, plus teleporting to Healing survivors in the Dream world can be really strong especially using anti-healing builds, and his anti-loop is just much more fluid and better than before, so while I don't think he'll be super strong especially against better survivors but he'll be, roughly in the middle of the pack decent B Tier killer imo especially be able to a bit of a pub stomper.
My problems with this rework are 1. Awake survivors can see dream powers. It’s just not thematic, and the dream powers only function to put you asleep so why do awake survivors need to see it when they can see him charge it up anyway? 2. Dream pallets lost their whole purpose of being a deception tool. I wish they’d focus more on making them about deception and less on making them about injury 3. The teleporting to healing survivors should only work if the survivor being healed is asleep 4. I think the loss of the ability to cancel a teleport makes him very clunky, especially when you’re trying to switch powers but accidentally teleport instead. Maybe make it so you can cancel gen teleports but not healing teleports
I also don’t get why they added the indicator that the dream pallets are fake, because his explosion detonation takes 1.5 seconds anyway, and during that time the pallet starts to shake, so if a survivor runs to a dream pallet thinking it’s real and it begins to shake, then they should know to just get away or pre-drop it because a normal pallet isn’t going to shake like that
It's a good change, the whole idea is it's okay to have mediocre killers. The point is he was beyond "not viable" for a hot minute. So it's nice to see him get lifted up a bit.
From what I've seen of him, I put him in the same place as I put Sadako. Upper C tier, lower B if you take the time to really figure out how to use him. As someone who mained Freddy back before his first rework, I'm looking forward to playing him again. Didn't care much for Sharp Hand Joe.

Finally, I stopped playing Freddy for years for how boring he is ever since his first rework, even after his nerfs. Now he seems pretty fun, you can now do so many cool stuff with him.
Hey look its me! I think Freddy from watching you play (i hate ptb queue times…) and from playing against him, is like you said, High C, low B if youre performing at peak. He felt really difficult to play against, but thats a combination of his power being new and me kinda sucking at surv haha. I think this patch (aside from the “bug fixes) was done really well, and gave freddy a really really cool power and addon list. But yeah…. labor of love guys
Fun, but disappointing, he’s the most unauthentic license in this game, a shock wave that slows you and exploding wood doesn’t scream Elm street at all.
The only unfortunate thing is now that Myers and Freddy r out of the bottom 3 Trapper is undeniably the worst killer in the game by a decent margin (Other then the one we don’t speak of) and he most likely won’t ever leave that spot, it’s kinda sad honestly

Honestly, I just wished that they actually fixed the issues instead of just buffing him. He's still a noob stomper and terrible against good survivors. And he's not even any lore accurate
I have no idea, what's so fun about the new Freddy? He has a weaker straight line Clown bottle every 5 seconds, fake pallets that you can see are fake, have an ability that will hit once in a million years and they can stun you. Teleporting changes are cool tho the healing one maybe could be used in a not healthy way like snowballing cause you wouldn't have time to go for the clock... Well but at the same time he's still an M1 killer that can't get downs that easily so maybe it's not that bad, idk Maybe he's just not for me, only thing I know is that I don't like few fake pallet changes

Freddy's pallets were nerfed but everything else was buffed especially teleportation. Are comp players not allowed to play test or is there something you know that I don't?

i think ppl being scared of wake up aren’t killers necessarily but survivors scared their teamates will play a selfish play style which is fair
