Now I need a wee off grid cabin with natural wood interior, my hand crank sewing machine, and a wood burning stove. You know, next door to my long arm studio. 😂
Haha that’s great!! My long arm studio is at my full time home! So glad to have people who understand me!
That was fun to watch! In my retirement years, I tried playing golf and have friends who are very competitive. I am not really, and enjoyed the camaradie and lunches more than the sand traps. Covid took away the golfing for me, anyway. My real joy now in living deliberately is quilting! Who knew it would consume so much of my time? Some of my friends say, "We need to get her out of her sewing bunker." But, I find I am most happy sewing for Quilts for Kids and Quilts of Valor. I like to say that my life has a purpose now and I very much related to your comments about being in your cabin. You are doing exactly what you want to do. What a lovely quilt you created. It's like a coat of many colors!

I am glad I have vintage machines as a back-up for power outages! At the moment my current project is on the floor and the cats are not allowed in - they'll be so jealous if they saw Luna. Oh boy! The noise - they both meow to come in (the door has a glass panel) and one paws the glass, so it thump thumps (heavily furred pads, so no damage). So I tend to sew by sneaking in! I love your quilt - what a great way to deal with the blocks. The corner stones are great! I also love your cabin - very cosy and the sound of the rain makes it more so! Thank you.

I am glad I watched this video. I am working on a “scrap” quilt and I was having brain fog on adding the outside sections. Thanks for reminding me to measure, measure and make me happy too! Sew easy if I take time to think it out! Four log cabins for the corners will set mine perfectly too. Thank you. Great ideas

I think it's a great way to use UFO's - yours came out so lovely! and I think that also had something to do with the similar color schemes but also that you didn't have a set idea of how it should look, you went with a few options and picked your favorite. It's a bit more organic and I love it! I would love a cabin, but I think my husband would complain as I probably wouldn't be home much. Quilting and peace and quiet with a cup of tea/coffee sounds heavenly.

Your quilt is so beautiful! I hope you share the final Ta-Da after she is quilted. I have a Singer Red Eye Treadle that I use from time to time and just love. I can't imagine not being able to sew. Power outages seem to be a part of our world in the last few years.

he went to the woods (aka the bushes behind his mom's house so she could still do his laundry & bring him home-cooked meals) because his community thought he was a bit of a firebug & he didn't want to answer any questions about the neighbours' barn burning down...

It's funny you say that. I visited Walden Pond several years ago, and I must admit that some of his shine was removed when I learned that his mother did his laundry, and really he wasn't that far from town, etc. But just the same, that particular line rings true to me! Thanks for watching!!

Wonderful! Yes I do use a quarter inch foot on mine. It’s a Low Shank machine. So I have a low shank Little Foot on it. Works great!
