I agree Sandy whole heartedly. There are too many channels today that “seem” to sew everything perfectly. Like you I sew for pure pleasure and fun. It relaxes me mentally and physically. My escape if you like. Well done for being part of a now wonky group 😂😂❤️
Not too soon at all, to start thinking and planning for Winter/Christmas projects... it takes time to plan, prep, buy fabric, pick a pattern, and get it done, in time for gift giving! I am making Lori Holt's "Plaid Pines" pattern...for myself...finally! A quilt for me!
Sandy, with the never ending stash! I love it, this might be my favorite one yet - it would make such a pretty table runner. You could make one like this but with different shades of color for each season.
Ohhhh yes, I enjoyed this👏👏👏 Winter projects too soon? NOPE, because if you don’t start now it might not be ready for the time you need it😝 I’ve included this on my wannado list! Thank you so much ❤️😀
i love this video, you are just a joy to watch,, if i may add one thing to your video i would recommend the quilt in a day half square triangle ruler, you trim before you open them and they come out perfect every time, thanks to your video i want my next quilt to be half square triangles, thank you
I'm about to start making Christmas gift projects so agreed, not too soon to start! I'm actually stressing that I haven't started soon enough lol Love love LOVE this chevron project!!
I love your videos. You have such a fun and refreshing approach to sewing and quilt making. I've been a follower here for a while, and just now followed you on IG.
Have you tried web piecing? Where you join on each column, leave them connected, until the whole block is connected, the right way. Just check? Then turn your block and just sew the rows. Nothing gets twisted or out of place. You can sew all your columns and leave the rows for later if you have to stop until later on. Have fun.
@@seweasybysandy chain piece the first 2 columns, leave them connected. Add each column to the right, in turn, chain piece each column, don't cut any threads except the end of the column, until all the of the block is together. Turn 1/4 turn so you can piece the rows which are already connected, just nest the seams. Sorry I don't remember how you did your tetris quilt. Tiffany's Quilting Life and Brenda from Mt. Scrapmore do this a lot. Brenda cuts the threads to nest them. And no wonky doesn't matter, finished does. It's not rocket science. All the best.
I love the fact that you don’t make everything perfect. So many of the channels use all the latest notions and tools that you really don’t need. You can also sew and quilt on the most basic of machines. I did upgrade my machine as my sewing got better, but I rarely use any stitches other than straight and zigzag. My machine is 22 years old and I have no plans to upgrade. I was wondering why you sew using just the small arm of your sewing machine (that I use for hemming)? I would find that awkward. I make mostly scrappy quilts. I also make Fidget quilts for Alzheimer’s patients.
Hi. Thank you. I use it like that because if I used to use the quilting table, so I don't know where the other part is and with the table I don't have enough room to film the other parts 🤦 I'm hopelessly desorganized 😂😂
Definitely not too soon..I am basically working on Christmas all year round...well with over 90 press's to make every year I can't really have a break from the festive season!😜
Hi. If your needles are breaking than you have your tension too high. My machine picks it's own tension but for the one I had before, with regular patchwork fabrics, I would usually leave it in the middle, it doesn't need any special settings.

That's an awesome idea! And yes, this is screaming table runner 😁
Love this. Thank you.
Instead of buying a rotating cutting board, I use a Lazy Susan that was just gathering dust as it was never used.
That's clever, does the same thing, why not?

I love your approach! I was mid-way (cutting the triangles) and you answered my questions about the layout. Thank you!
That's so cool! We're in synch! Thank you 😊

Thank you! Are you making a lot of items or are they time consuming?
That would make a fantastic table runner.
Yes 😁
Each week I wind at least 6 spare bobbins in white for all my piecing. Then it's a quick change and away you go again.
That's really smart! I need to start preparing better 😕
Love it Sandy !!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
I sew a season ahead.........so I'm always ready for craft shows and for my shop.
I wish I was that organised 😁

Do you mean like the tetris quilt I did, except I zigzag stitched instead of sewing all the seams at the back?
