The fact you readily recommended other channels as trustable sources of education shows integrity and a desire to help the watcher in any way possible. Instant sub 🙏
Some great channels out there! Enjoy and thanks for subscribing to mine!
I second this. A good chunk of youtube is thumbnails and clickbait titles and been able to have recommendations by someone you trust for other parts of Davinci helps save a ton of time and fustration sifting through all the "luts" and "quick hack" videos.
literally this. go Darren!
Facts 💯 same
These have been some of the most valuable 19 odd minutes of my filmmaking life. Been dabbling with Resolve since 2019 but I needed this.
Wish Id done it sooner! Glad it helped Kasbash!
Im new to editing. Haven't used any software. I'm looking for that 2 hr. Media page tutorial. Then the 5 hr. CUT page with SPEED EDITOR covering every possible detail. Then a 10 hr. Tutorial bringing the 3 together to tell a story before moving on to the fine tuning pages. So many videos jump page to page and show what DR 18 can do, but don't cover the why you do it this way and then the how. Maybe YT doesn't pay enough. Create a subscription offer. Part 1 through 50 in 1 hr. tutorials. I've watched many DR 17 and spent more time trying to decipher the process because the layout is different. So DR 18.5 would be ideal. Yes, I've watched the Blackmagic DR 17 tutorials and can not keep up. Spent more time rewinding. If anyone can point me in the right direction to a full tutorial. Really appreciate it
Definitely my favorite voice to explain how things work. Very much appreciated. Thank you for not talking too fast. Good job.
appreciated
What an amazing overview! I love your passion, thank you !
Thanks for this Darren very helpful!
wow what a great video for leanring the basics! thanks Darren!
GREAT OVER VIEW OF RESOLVE BUT I THINK I UNDERSTAND THIS OVERVIEW BECAUSE OF ALL THE BEGINNER RESOLVE TUTS I'VE VIEWED SO FAR🤯
Thank you so much for this valuable video! Clear and straight to the point.
Great enthusiasm in delivery which is Great!
Thank you sir! This is excellent and just what I was looking for.
Really enjoyed watching your video, just starting to learn DaVinci and was looking for a good set of tutorials to learn from. It looks like I have found your channel to learn the basics and then make the next steps up the ladder. Thank you for your time and talent.
Excellent intro. Very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you! So concise and demystifying. I will be exploring your colleague channels recommendations as well.
This has been very helpful about to work on audio so thank you for shouting out other channels
Thanks Darren. Great info!
Radical! Helped so much. Great video. Great presentation. Great pacing. Nice work! ACE!
This was so clear and easy to follow ! ! :)
Great video. Thank you, Darren.
Thank you. Your presentation comes across very well. Genuine. In particular, when you give credit and mention your peers. It rounds up the belief factor.
Brilliant. So helpful for a photographer just starting to make videos. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this first really helpful look! We are looking into switching to DaVinci and I am pretty impressed. Can't wait to go in deeper.
Great video!!! Thank you! I am starting a course of DR editing and had no idea how the interface worked... Now this video got me excited to start learning!
Thank you so much for the effort you put in your videos. I can no longer afford my Adobe License and I was pretty bummed. But this video actually makes me excited to start exploring DaVinci now!
Ok, this seems WAY over my head, but yet you still didn't scare me away, I'm subscribed to keep up now. Thanks, and GREAT video!!!
Thank you! 🙏♥️ I have been making/mixing/producing music for many years and finally decided to see what video editing was like. It was a bit overwhelming lol, but you've made it whelming 😋🙃
I'm soooo glad I've stumbled across your channel thanks to this video, amazing! DR is quite daunting for people like me, who have pretty much never edited videos. Your video is exactly what I was looking for: short and high level explanations to understand how the program works. Brilliant. I'll certainly watch other videos from your channel and in the meantime, I've subscribed! It's also awesome you mention other channels. If only this would be a more common practice! Definitely helpful for the viewer, and as far as I'm concerned, this means you want something for yourself of course with your channel, but also truly for the greater good.
Thank you so much for such a great breakdown of the setup. I come from a design background so have a lot of familiarity with Adobe products, and have done some light animation work with AfterEffects in the past, but the DR interface was a little overwhelming as I didn't understand how the pages interacted with each other. This laid everything out beautifully.
I'm looking to get back into it animation (for title screens, infographics, etc.) and hope to be using DR as it sounds like a really solid system (and I can't stomach the subscription model). Thanks again!
Literally just subscribed to every channel you suggested. (1 of which I already subscribed to.) Been using Resolve for a while already, but still learned a few things in the video. Thanks for the help and the suggestions!
Thanks. Great way of explaining.
I’m new to video editing and Da Vinci and finding more complex than some of the other software for editing,I am getting to know it better but still finding it hard in many ways , I don’t know how I’d go on without these videos ,thanx

Darren, Thank You for the fast and experienced overview of Resolve! I look forward to learning the editing basics in Resolve. I got tired of Adobe's $54 per month for Premiere, etc... I just have a new little TH-cam Channel about finding unique vehicles and getting them running and do restorations with veterans. All the Best Mate! Cheers!
Thanks. So helpful.
Thanks Darren, just getting into davinci after years of adobe products. Purchased the studio with with speed editor from wex on a good deal so these videos are super helpful.

After having TH-cam suggest this video to me and then watching it start to finish, I am moving over to DaVinci Resolve from Premiere Pro. Very helpful and insightful video. Many thanks.
Thank you Darren. I'm moving from PremPro ... the FX guy I'm now working with is on DVR, 500miles away, so I had to ... This has given me the perfect overview ... I have subscribed and look forward to your words of wisdom.

Probably one of the easiest and most interesting tutorials I have watched in a long time..... and I watch ALOT of tutorials. Will definitely be swapping over to Davinci from Premiere for my M2 MacBook Max
Fantastic video! Thank you for posting! :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
By happy coincidence, this was the FIRST Davinci Resolve video that I watched on TH-cam. That was about 4 months ago. Since that time, I have watched a lot of video from you and from the others whom you recommend at the end of this video. It has meant a great deal to me that you took a minute to list them... especially by their areas of expertise. I am so fortunate to have this group of professionals as my go-to teachers. I feel like my DR journey started right here. Thank you.
I will be attending your Masterclass May 18-21, 2024. Can't wait!
A goat of a video. Merci Darren

Appreciated Sergei
Thank you so much Mr Mostyn. Have a super day. :)
You too!
This has been very helpful sir 👍 thank you so much ....more newbie stuff please.
will try soon but I like to mix it up a bit. use my curated playlists - I carefully assign each video to specific areas so the beginners playlist here maybe a good place to start. I like to do intermediate and advance too, so when you get better you can still watch my channel and learn. th-cam.com/play/PL6VNHhfsVYJawp385IIyLemQL_ZBzgN_5.html
Thanks. Your enthusiasm and simple explanations really made resolve less daunting for me. Thanks again.
Glad to help!
Great quick introduction Darren! Appreciate the shout out. Humbled to be mentioned by you alongside some of those other great teachers.
About time I mentioned your channel Alex. A good solid resource!!
Just an absolute great tutorial!!
Thanks so much!
HI Darren, I'm a complete beginner, and I made a edited a few videos with Da Vinci last year, but I got bogged down.
I just found this video, and I really like your style and delivery. I am hoping I will learn a lot.
Thanks
Been using vegas pro for about 4 years but looking to improve audio and colour correction/grading. This software looks really nice. I’ve used premier pro but found it slow for jump cutting which is what I primarily do.
Loved this 19 mins of awesome content 💖💖
Glad you enjoyed it
Always a class act, recommending other channels!
Sharing the love. Lots of great channels out there
