Tewkesbury abbey is free of flood water. In times of flood almost every medieval church in England is free of flooding. Why? Medieval people understood the lie of the land and built their important buildings on higher land ( it my only have been1 - 2 metres high but they recognised its importance).
@@garry-ago-go . It isn't that simple, if the flow is reduced by dredging, the deposition of silt increases. I used to fish the Upper Severn, and I've seen how a small change in the river bed can fill up a deep pool in just a matter of weeks.
@@grahvis I fish the river lea all the Brooks and side streams are far to shallow through build up , If the river is to shallow to direct the water it will pool up i.e flood a deeper river can hold more water, otherwise why did our local authorities always clean and dredge and wash the rivers and canal through?

We are praying for your save and long life
We need to dredge the rivers like we used to .
The build up has made the rivers to shallow the water has nowhere to go
That would help a lot
Sorry that is just a myth, dredging damages the environment and does not help to stop flooding
@@grahvis shallow river's or deep rivers are better for flooding?

There are plenty of papers on the matter available on the internet. I suggest some research.
That water surely must have sewage in it, no way it cannot have, pretty revolting.
They have been pumping sewage into our rivers before the flood so your right about that
Tewkesbury like campi bisenzio
