It’s all fun and games until you’re a round the clock caregiver for an elderly man who doesn’t want to go out, has to pee 7 times a night and keeps the house at 80 degrees because he’s always cold. Meanwhile you’re in your mid 30’s watching your friends go to concerts, hiking and having a great time being young and mobile. Anyone who says age is just a number never worked in the medical field.

That's not really true everyone is different me my self I am 63 slim with all my hair and not one gray hair and well looked after yet most people in there 40s & 50s look older than me so my friend s say and some look as if they have had hard lives .Its all go s on your life style as a child and how one was brought up .People in the 1950s and 1960s use to think that people in there 40s are old back then and also people did not live as long then .Last night I saw a person an old friend that I had not seen for 20 years he said to me wow why do you still look the same as you did 20 years ago why are you not getting older .He's 9 years younger than me and he looked so much older than me his hair had gone long ago .He was amazed how I had not changed in 20 years .Some people don't look there age yet some do that's my point age can be irrelevant . I still go out watch prog rock groups and go to party's and do everything the same as when I was younger .My wife is 13 years younger than me and is a model for fashion

NO! There are SPOUSES the same age who complain about having to do those same things when they're in the 60's, 70's or 80's!! Especially when ONE OF THE SPOUSES - usually the MAN-- at a bar, after work,, talks about his " old ball & chain"! But yet that " old ball & chain" will have to clean your nasty BUTT one day!!!
My late wife was 14 years older than me, we were very happy together for 40 very happy years, I lost her to Alzheimer's 3 yrs ago, was holding her hand when she passed, if I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing !!

My grandma was 28 and my grandpa was 48 when they got married. 20 YEAR DIFFERENCE! They were married till death. Grandma died first at 85. Grandpa died a few months later when he realized she left earth. He died at age 105 years old.
depending on the generation they grew up in. They married for the right reasons, not for show. My grandparents were 10 years a part. My great aunt was 30 years younger than her husband and they were married for 30 years. But we are talking in a time when people were more mature for marriage. They didn't marry for show. Just because it works for some, it doesn't make it the example for all. When both science and living examples show otherwise for the majority. Today is women marrying a guy who has everything, its for attention. Women marrying much younger guys is merely for show and not an old guy who cant keep up. Stage of life truly does matter.

My Fella&I are 22 years apart. He-58 & I-36 I could not imagine life without him. He has made/helped me become a better Mother&Person. We have been together for 7 years. He is an amazing father figure to my 4 children (their father is not in the picture), I now have a degree (no, he did not pay for my trade school) and we now fully own our home equally together. I was his care giver following a horrible truck accident and have told him I'll do it again when he gets "up in age". Some age gap relationships are legit and not revolve around money. Watched a couple of these and I noticed in all cases, the elder of the couples is oozing in self confidence, self belief, are fun and don't take themselves too seriously. Probably why they are able to bag someone half their age as people their own age often lack that. Good on them!

I met my wife in 1980. I was stood up for a date and feeling miserable. So my friends took me out clubbing, and that's how I met my wife. She was with another group, and a friend of hers dared her to ask me for a piece of gum. (Back in the '80's we wore crazy club clothes, and I had this very loud neon pink tie on which kind of made me stand out in a semi-dark club.) I wasn't particualarly in a talking mood, since I was drunk and out for a good time. When she came to me and asked me for a piece of gum, I noticed she had a button on her lapel and we started talking about that. We hit it off, and went outside for a smoke. One thing led to another, we found a vestibule and then we got it off. Afterwards we went back into the club and danced a bit. At the end of the night we traded numbers. When she wrote her number down, it was dark and she wrote it over some other words. I couldn't make them out so I figured she did it on purpose. I figured it was a one night stand anyway, and I wasn't into hooling up with anyone at that moment, plus she never called me so that was that. The next week I was at an after-hours club, maybe hoping to see her. But not having any luck, I decided to leave. Then as I'm walking out, she came walking in with some other guy. We talked a bit and I told her I couldn't read her numer. So she wrote it again, but then she took my fave Ray-Ban's. She said she would give them back when she saw me next week. We met again that next week, and I got my sunglasses back. 2 months later my house burned down and I lost everything, including the sunglasses. But 43 years later we are still together. Sometimes things just happen and you just don't question the reason why.

My mother was in an age gap (20 years) relationship with my father. He was 52 when I was born. She divorced him 6 years later. Fast forward to me being 35 and having to manage my 87-year-old father's life for the next 6 years--something she told him she would do for him before they married. In 2006 a new gal at work who was 20, asked 39 year old me out. I very much regret saying no as I later fell in love with her. She moved 1000 miles away in 2007 without saying goodbye and I was crying. I had on and off contract with her through email, MySpace and then Facebook in 2013. After she broke up with her boyfriend in 2015 I pursued her when she was then 29 and I was 48. We texted for a year while living 1000 miles apart. For several months in the summer of 2016 we were talking about one of us moving 1000 so we could start dating. It started falling apart in August 2016 then she stopped talking to me January 3rd 2017. She married another guy in late 2020 and I’m happy for her. I will always love her.
Aww bless you. My husband and I were in long distance relationship, we got married in 2016 and I moved to UK. He was 30yrs and I was 25yrs 5yrs age gap. I love him very very much but he passed away at the age of 38 in 2021😢.

Here's my GREAT ADVICE: If you find a partner who you love and can't POSSIBLY imagine your life without them , even though there's a huge age gap, GO FOR IT & marry them! And I CAN TALK because I'm a PROUD Cougar of a Different Kind who has MARRIED a younger man who died! I had a PERFECT MARRIAGE!

I can’t imagine being in an age gap relationship myself but I am not going to condemn or judge those who do it. And I wouldn’t turn my back on a family member who was in one as long as they’re happy and it’s not an illegal underage thing. But what I don’t understand are those people who absolutely refuse to consider a partner that’s not decades younger because they’re convinced they could never be attracted to them…..which is a rigid discriminatory way to think.
