    Very useful video. I like your suggestion to “pay it forward.” Only seems fair. I had no idea that some of these free patterns were available! Thank you!

      I'm hoping to make a couple of these free quilts next year. But my quilting plans tend to be very fluid, so who knows?

      I would LOVE to see your quilts. If you ever have a little time to photo them and share with me I would very much appreciate it. Do you have any Saudi Arabian traditional quilt blocks?

    Thank you so much. Didn't know about Tilda's. Love their unique patterns. Thanks for putting the video and all the research together. I looked at a few of the sites and realize I could spend HOURS looking at each one. I loved your sharing some "favorites" with us. And you're right, try not to focus on the colors. A different set of colors can make a HUGE difference.

      Tilda's fabric is beautiful too. And they release new patterns with each fabric collection!

    Hoping you will be very happy in your new home. We moved here 14 years ago and there are still boxes unpacked in the attic!! Thanks for the pattern advice too!

      I still have a bunch of boxes to unpack. You know the little odds and ends that don't really have a purpose or a specific place to be. They're in the garage and they mock me whenever I leave the house.

    Thanks for sharing your finds! I was familiar with a couple of them, but I´m always on the lookout for new inspirations. A general FYI: Connecting Threads fabrics are fantastic; I´ve purchased many from them (be sure to sign up for their free monthly catalog).

      Yes, most of my boxes are unpacked and I'm sewing again finally! Still not very well organized, but that's just my natural state. 😄

      I'm a huge fan of Jordan Fabrics TH-cam channel, but I've never gotten around to exploring their site. Thanks for the tip! I know what I'll be doing tonight.

      Definitely love Jordan Fabrics free patterns! I´ve made several, and Donna´s video tutorials are the bomb! Also, check out their ¨Going, going, gone¨ section for great fabric sales; I´ve picked up some super backings there. And, Matt´s hand-cut fabrics are superbly accurate, as are his video bundles.

      The Tilda patterns are probably my favorites. Recently I got to see some Tilda fabric in person for the first time. It's lovely! I really want some of their chambray fabric.

    Moving can be quite hectic, hope you are enjoying your new place. I tend to get inspired by blocks and make something that fits the fabric I have. I have yet to make a proper pattern. Mostly because I don’t have a lot of sewing time I make smaller lap sized quilts. However I have seen many beautiful ones like storm at sea that I will try when my little is older. If a pattern disappears it is worth searching the way back machine just in case someone uploaded it there. I don’t have a lot of money but I will thank and leave reviews for free blocks I use or patterns I am inspired by.

      @ThimbleStorm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had to google the Storm at Sea quilt... It's gorgeous! Thanks for the tip about the Wayback Machine. I've never heard of it before. I'll have to check it out next time I'm desperately searching for a pattern. 😀

    Lovely video! I am definitely going to check out Tilda's World; looks like some very whimsical ideas! Fabric manufactures commonly have great free patterns on their websites as well; Andover, Moda, Robert Kaufman, etc. Missouri Star Quilt Company offers free tutorials twice a week where all the pattern details are shared; often to where you do not need to purchase a pattern to make the quilt or activity & they provide a documented supply list. Hancock's fabrics offers hundreds of free patterns from their suppliers
