I thought I would need to get an Arduino, then program it to be a joystick with a switch, add a spring, do a lot of engineering...
Totally genius! I think that with a USB device it should be more stable, more consistent... but if you want to test or do something quickly... a very smart solution, congratulations!

you can also take a usb keyboard take it appart and solider a switch to it to act like a key

It's a PTFE tube. But If you couldn't find use a plastic syringe tube.
