    Daughter-in-law sent us this video link. We will be learning to do this over the Thanksgiving holidays with two daughters in law, and possibly three granddaughters! Looking forward to it. While the guys hunt at the ranch, we will be making the blankets in the cabin. 😍😍

    I've never been crafty, so you were talking to me. I'm nervous about my very first crat project. I've bought my skeins, and going to try to follow these directions the best I can. I got lost a couple of times, so going to have to watch a couple of times, I'm sure. Thanks for the confidence to try, and step out of my comfort zone.

    Yes, I thank you also! I mean i'm a year or more late to the party about these blankets and was going to take a class. Then my girlfriend told me about a Valentines class last week and it just inspired me to get back into crafting. So, I want to sign up for the class because my gf said she & a few others tried to do it by watching TH-cam and hers came out like a "Triangle of sorts", lol so I've been watching a few people's video's and glad I came across it. I actually had watched it before but I like that you take it at a slower pace & I can stop, rewind etc too (haha) but I enjoyed your video very much and Thank You! I already had done the braid part but was getting stuck at the main step #2. Now I think I got it! LOL I think! I'm working on my blanket, but it is starting to curve. I am on my 4th row and counting my stitches. Do I need to just make my loops even looser?

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      It’s very possible! You want to try and keep your loops as consistent in size as possible. If it’s curving in then your loops are too tight. If it’s curving out then they are too loose.

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As you practice your consistency for the size of the loops will get better. I do suggest your foundation chain being on the looser side. Just try your best to keep the loops about the same size. :)

    Sorry, another comment. I also want to add in a tip. I found that it’s a lot easier to roll your yarn into a loose ball, and place it inside a mixing bowl. Then that way, your working yarn doesn’t keep slipping off. You have everything in front of you in easy reach☺️!

    How do you determine how much yarn you need? I'd like to make one for my bed, was thinking at least queen size, may just go king (90" x 94" )

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To find the best recipe for that, what I do is create a chain and lay it across the bed to be sure it is as wide as I need it to be. I then work up 2 skeins of yarn and measure how long the blanket is at that point. Then I decide how long I need the blanket and figure out how many more skeins I need to buy :)

    I just finished my first hand knitted blanket, and when I looked at it, I noticed that towards the end bottom, I had forgotten a couple of loops. Not sure how I had missed them, because both my husband and I looked over the blanket thoroughly about more than a dozen times and did see anything missing. I am now in the process of undoing the whole entire blanket and staring all over again😭😭. And let me say, that it’s not an easy blanket to undo. So, if you decide to make one, please take my advice, and always count your loops that you are working with to make sure you are always on track, and also, don’t make the mistake of adding in a loop. This blanket is a very easy blanket to make, and it has a tendency to make you whip right through it. But honestly, just take your time and try not to speed through it. Others say they can get it done in three hours, but trust me when I say, I tried that trick, not paying attention to my size of loops, and some were very loose and some were too tight. This will honestly be my 100th time doing it over🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️If I would have taken my time, my blanket probably would have been done by now. I am now a week into it with how many times I’ve had to start over. This blanket is a Christmas gift for my father-in-law, I hope I’m able to get it done before then🫤
