I love when Kennan get's into all the technicalities, that's what Doug has been missing on. I love his reviews on quirks and features, and Kennan's for all the engineering stuff
This was the car that made me fall in love with cars and with Ferrari in particular. I was 13 when I saw one in Rosso Scuderia for the first time, and I’ve wanted one ever since. So happy to see one here and to hear Kennan give an in depth technical deep dive. Great video!
Kennan’s Ferrari reviews are his best work. My all time dream car is a Ferrari 16M, and it’s only a matter of time before one ends up on Cars & Bids. Cannot WAIT for that video!
Killing it again Kennan. More interesting than quirks & features tbh. This is the right format. And yes 430 and 458 are amazing. From a design point a view and in my opinion those are the last beautiful v8s Ferrari. Everything after that is so in your face and tortured. The lines here are just simple and beautiful, no gimmicks
Kennan really knows his stuff! I love the technical deep dive in his videos. Also, the 430 is my favorite modern Ferrari. A timeless classic, with just the right amount of power and speed.
Another benefit of the f430 is you can work on it yourself. True for the 360 too, but even more so for the f430. When you get to the 458, it starts to get very “computery,” and before the 360, you’re in the scary “engine out” world. I work on my f430 myself and doing so, it gives you more confidence driving it. I really believe the f430 is the sweet spot of modern usability, but still raw, old school feel. After all, no cup holders! I always say, once a car has cup holders, it’s not special anymore. Lol
I bought a mint condition Rosso Corsa 08 F430 spider two years ago. I can not even believe how much I love this car. Worth every penny. By the way, anyone looking for one of these, try to get a later year model. Mine shifts beautifully. No jerkiness or clunkiness or any of the complaints that people with early models have.
Hi Kennan, fantastic video, in fact This, for me is one of the most beautiful modern Ferraris, specially being made after the 360 which let's be honest is not really pretty, particularly with those horrible front lamps which look like just out of an old pawn shop, on top of that, the engine looks like an sculpture and in this car which is completely MINT, it looks even better. Then your face when driving it. It says it all like an open book. I didn't know about the flat crank business which I've found very interesting. Your videos are getting better and better. Keep on the great job bud! Much love, You guess it 🙂 from West Spain.
Am I the only one who doesn't understand the appeal of spending HUGE money for a car and never putting any real mileage on it, despite having owned it for 17+ years?? I know there is joy in simply walking into the garage and admiring your beautiful car, but they're meant to be DRIVEN!!
I figure it's either people who have multiple supercars and just don't get around to driving some of them very much. Or people who can't REALLY afford to run a Ferrari, and don't want to risk it getting damaged or causing any unexpected mechanical problems... I just hope it still received any required 'age related' services, even if it didn't actually travel very many miles?
Ahem, Kennan please chose a more muted background than blinding white especially for a black car. The contrast is overwhelming onscreen and the details get lost. Sunlight outside is perfect like for the 456 GT a few weeks back. Way more natural which helps us connect with the car. BTW, it's unbelievably dangerous to drive on the original Pirelli PZero's which expired almost TWO decades ago even on a car with under 400 miles. But the driving portion really transformed the video into a visceral experience with the V8 engine song of those perfectly throttle blipped downshifts. Best part was the pic of you as a kid in the Ferrari dealership next to a new F430: PRICELESS street cred. 👊🏾
It was the dealerships area to film and outside had constant plane traffic. We like to do videos outside when we can, just wasn't possible for this one. Agreed on the tires, but future potential owners might want the original tires.
Kennan, the F430 only had one transmission. Both the 6sp manual and the automated F1 cars used the same transmission. The gated 6sp cars just didn't have the hydraulic system actuating the clutch and shifting the gears. The transmission itself is the same and that's why it's relatively easy to convert an F1 car to a gated 6sp manual.
This is the only Ferrari I was lucky to drive (so far). Loved the experience but, at 6’2” high, I could not seat confofortably with the seat moved all the way back. I suppose that the Berlinetta body has more legroom for the driver. A wonderful car regardless!
@@ozarkliving7263 lol, I did it for people like you who suffer from low self-esteem, narcissism, projecting (probably), and like too bully other people in order to make themselves feel better. You’re welcome. Clearly you are in the third grade because no grown ass adult with a shred of self worth would play grammar police on TH-cam. Get back to doing your homework. Sad my friend, sad.
Liked the video but isn't the coupe version just nicknamed Berlinetta? It's not a different version to my knowledge as a hard top version was never released
It would have been nice to mention the actual designer, Frank Stephenson, although he might be offended at having one of his masterpieces described as 'simplistic'. Simplistic means to treat something with false simplicity, often to misrepresent by ignoring essential complexities. Just say 'simple', or 'clean'. The downforce numbers are a bit odd. First, the number you put on the screen (320Nm) is a torque, not a force and has no relation to 290lb. You may have got confused that if you put a figure in lbf into an online calculator it may take that to mean pounds feet rather than pounds force. The actual total number for the F430 is 280kg weight at 300km/hr, = 639lb weight. If you step on the scales you'll find kilos to lb is about double plus 10%. The handbook says not to play with the throttle on down or up-shifts because the car does it for you. I find down-shifts don't need any help but you can help up-shifts with a gentle lift. And that will prolong clutch life; mine is looking to last 50k miles and I do a few track days! Nevertheless, that looks like a stunningly nice early example and I'd recommend the Spider to anyone. If you think the coupe sounds good, the Spider with the roof down sounds like the second coming!
I love when Kennan get's into all the technicalities, that's what Doug has been missing on. I love his reviews on quirks and features, and Kennan's for all the engineering stuff

Agreed. So much better than zero details Demuro
This design is truely timeless. The rear is perfect.
It really has aged well.
But it's not very different from the 360 as you said 🤣 they are basically the same the 430 is just an Evolution of the 360 design
@@kjell9661aged to perfection 👌
Frank Stephenson designed f430. X5. Mclaren p1 .... legend
Doug the type of guy to hire Kennan (I love Kennan)

It's most definitely my all time favourite from the Cavallino Rampante stables, absolutely age-less!
What an absolutely beautiful car. That engine too. The sound is absolutely magical. It just sounds soooo good.
Couldn't agree more!

Kennan is the polar opposite of what I once subscribed for.

omg, the first 8 seconds :D fantastic. love the changes to the channel, more car content from more lovely people. Kennan rulez however
Kennan is a car encyclopedia. He's the real deal.
Really love the 430 spider!! Especially a manual one! But car need to be use, car with low km is the car who will give problems!
i enjoyed this alot

I'm really appreciating the addition of Kennan and Alanis.
I was grumpy when Doug started having friends work for him. I really like Kennan now. I like the other one too, but can't remember her name.
Kennan has a special place in our hearts.

Sport seats make a world of difference.
🤔 And when were super sports cars ever designed to be comfortable to drive ?. Especially for very tall people !!.
This era of Ferrari sport seats are actually comfortable. Not the GT3 torture racks.
My goodness, Kennan!! You really know the technicals of this bella macchina 😊
Fantastic video!
Doug and kennan first meet interview only had one question, "do you wear 2 tshirts together?"
It's like a $200,000 car. It _better_ still be one of the best.
Dude was driving back and forth on the same 2 blocks the whole time LOL
It only has 400 miles, trying to not pile on the miles for the next owner. Kennan has a lot of prior seat time in F430s.

All the good nerdy bits.
Since I'm never going to get a Ferrari, the one I'm never going to get is the 458. I just like it better than the 430 in every way.

Why would anyone buy a Ferrari F430 and then never use it?
It boggles the mind.

F430 Spider design in my opinion is the most beautiful one over the 458 and even the 488. Rear and side are amazing
