One was the engineer designer and the other the finance guy, the investor and they had no doubts about what they were going to produce, Then the car was shown to the readers, it was an european car magazine, I don't remember which one but the car if I'm not wrong was the coupe, Laviolette, I clearly remember that I thought, what the hell is this? then the pictures of everything, particularly the interior with that steering wheel that the american government screwed up for your market... Still today it is in my opinion one of the prettiest cars ever made and I truly understand how you felt when driving it. Indeed you were C8ing fast down the road. My Mk1 VW Jetta uses a similar shifting rod system - very precise and direct. Only difference is the shift knob of the Spyker is worth more than my car.
The metal switch and gauge cluster.. the shifter mech.. are the absolute sweetest part looks wise. It’s a nice colored and stitched interior but that metal switch and button cluster is sick

That’s a fair statement. To me, it has a certain.. almost vintage feel to the interior. It is the collective ‘minute’ details, like the machining of the dash, the retro style, the leather stitch work… the engrave exhaust tips that say Spyker. But true… style can be subjective.
Sure one of the coolest cars ever! Also it does not need to be the fastest in 0 to 60 or have 600+ hp, it is about the experience a car delivers, and the Spyker C8 seems to do that very well.
I feel like the "what is this thing" reaction is perhaps the most modern rendition of an AC Cobra. I can only dream of ever even sitting in one, it is a wildly gorgeous car from the exterior - but the WWII brushed alumunium airplane interior is just so choice.
I think it was a smart decision to move the crew to the cars and bids. I must say that when they first showed up on the full fat Doug Demuro channel I wasn't a fan, I had subscribed for Doug after all and the new voices rubbed me the wrong way. Now that i've been watching the second channel videos, i've come to appreciate the others more as their skills have improved, and now those original videos from before rub me a bit less! Look forward to seeing what comes next with the crew
You have to admit, Doug is a genius. He built a loyal group of followers with his videos. Then he built a car auction website and is now using the multiple TH-cam channels to make what are basically 30 minute commercials for his auctions.
Wow, this car grows on me every time i see a new video about on it these channels (3rd C8 video so far). The all-silver looks great, especially the backside with the air vents. Verrassing, verrassing, indeed, haha

Spyker are still around!? I thought they went bankrupt again some years back. Glad they’re still here then. Those rear light clusters look the same as those of the McLaren F1…originally from a commercial vehicle you know.

Came here for this. The last customer car Spyker produced was in 2011 (the C8 Aileron). The company went bankrupt before the C8 Preliator could enter production.
Currently at a little over $3000. That ain't gonna last. lol I've always thought of these as baby Pagani's. They've got that same artistic feel and attention to detail.

So, it has an upgrades head and as a result has 20 LESS hp. Sounds advanced.
And because it has port injection instead of direct injection it doesn’t have the problem of carbon buildup on the valves. Worth the 20-hp loss.
