I really liked that ending montage too and I enjoyed all of the proposals. However, I did feel somewhat sad for Joe and Serena when Kendall reappeared. I have to say that although I think production absolutely played a role in getting Kendall to return, I also think some of that responsibility rests with Kendall herself (Becca mentioned on a podcast that Kendall stayed for at least a week in Mexico waiting to do it and Joe stated that when he saw her coming down he felt that at that point it wasn't appropriate for her to have done it). I think Kendall doing that actually showed a lack of care for Joe, knowing how much this moment would've meant to him and how it could've potentially unsettled him. Whether it was money or the promise of the Bachelorette gig that made her do it, I just don't believe the blame can be placed solely on production when Kendall willingly signed up to participate (especially when it's someone as familiar with the show and friendly with producers as Kendall is). A highlight though was the very sweet moment that was pointed out when Serena immediately asked Joe "are you okay?". It showed a deep care and love for Joe as a person and a real trust in the strength of their relationship. Joe and Serena handled everything with so much maturity and grace, and always with humor. I am wishing all of these couples the best!
It is interesting that it is a bit off that an ex comes out before the proposal on bip, but on the bachelor/bachelorette the lead breaks up with the other person moments before proposing to the "winner"
Way to ruin one of the most important moments of his life. The producers were beyond shady with this one. They definitely crossed a line. Playing around with a relationship on the show is one thing, but what they dropped on Joe before a huge life moment was not cool.
I went to bed last night thinking, "I can hardly wait to wake up and watch Sharleen and Andy." That's how important you are to me. Two things: I think Mari and Kenny will make the most beautiful children, and I kept saying during the proposals, "Good for her. She got her Neil Lane ring." Love you guys.

I love how Andy explains and analyse things, it's so funny...Sharleen on the other hand is like a queen always very diplomatic (opposite to typical a plant talking Virgo ) I noticed, she likes to soften his language, so she asks him to clarify what he means and so on.... Re: Ed and Mykenna... this is why I wasn't as impressed last week with his approach of her. Not only was he abandoning Natasha, she said no and let him know from the start that she wasn't interested. I've learned from you two that if you have to talk someone into being with you...run!
I also said Thomas wasn't a bad guy back when he was on Katie's season. I said I thought he was being a little manipulative back then, but he's clearly learned what he did wrong. He was much more thoughtful this go around. I also think he's way more into Becca than he was Katie.

Thomas never did anything to get all the hate he got. Katie's men started the crap and Katie kept it going. I am happy for Thomas, he got a real queen, in the classy Becca. I was rooting for them.

Jesse Palmer has been announced for season 26 only (the future seasons are still TBA). It's very possible he'll become the permanent host down the road (presumably pending his performance and the reception) but as of now it's just for a season! 😘
With what a crazy season this was, I’m surprised the proposals seemed so genuine. With Kendall, what could they possibly have offered her to make her do that? I understand it was producer driven but she still did it. She has to bear a little of what happened. Joe was clearly super angry about it all, I don’t blame him. But the fact that there’s 6 couples still together, including James and Aaron, is that a record?
Sharlene, your "I don't have it in me" and Andy, your "I told you so" had me laughing, but watching you two are my favorite hour all week anyway. I find myself torn. I'm really sad this is the last BIP recap, but I couldn't be happier about the three in-love couples, that were the product of this season, and their corresponding engagements. Being born and raised in Chicago and having moved to Arizona many years ago, I can fully understand how Kendall not wanting to plant roots there would be the detriment to her and Joe's relationship. I don't know how I personally could ever leave sun and warmth for snow and cold to move back there for any reason. However, it's in my blood, so to speak, and it's just such a beautiful, cultural city, so I can 100% understand why Grocery Store Joe would want to live his life there and break up with Kendall because of it. And people may not understand how Serena, agreeing to at least live part of their time there, or maybe move to Chicago in the end, would be the glue that holds them together, but I get it. I just spent the last 1/3 of my life with my friends and family on the other side of the U.S. because they couldn't break that hold that Chicago had on them. Many have passed away there, and that's really sad, but I digress. Riley and Maurissa are perfect for each other. Being an attorney, Riley had to be certain that she was into him and not his money (or potential for money), and Maurissa proved that over and over again. Let's be real, there is no hiding true love. And, lastly, Kenny & Mari... I honestly experienced "love at first sight" with my current husband, and next month will mark 15 years since that night we first laid eyes on each other. So there is something to be said about that. I do believe that Kenny experienced that (not so sure about Mari), and I fully believe with Mari's high emotional intelligence and Kenny's love for her, their love for each other will only grow with time. Thank you again for all the laughs. You two are the couple that everyone and anyone would want to be friends with, but if we can't get that, just watching your videos is good enough for now. Sharlene, maybe you'll write a book, since you're so good at writing and expressing yourself, and you and Andy can travel the world doing book signings, taking pictures with your adoring fans, and making us laugh with you the entire time :-) XOXOXO
Kenny and Mari remind me of Nick and Natalie. Serious relationship (not much levity), huge age difference and from an outsider looking in, the relationship is highly based on looks.

The only recap I watch. You two have a wonderful blend of maturity, humor, class and insight. I do have to say sometimes this show stoops too low and is actually heartless and abusive and bringing back Kendall was one. The fact is that she went along with it, no one had a gun to her head. I hope she has learned a tough life lesson that your integrity should never be for sale.
Totally agree. I have it on good authority she was lied to and didn't think she was interrupting an engagement, which to me is definitely a case of heartlessless/abuse on production's part. I agree she didn't have to go along with it, but I do think if she was convinced by being told there *wouldn't* be an engagement, it does change the circumstances slightly. (And notice how TPTB are never to blame.) Regardless, you're right: "integrity should never be for sale" 👏
I agree - I think after everything we have seen, whoever goes on this show needs to be careful as the producers do not have your best interest at heart and the worst part is you won't be able to defend yourself based on whatever contract you agreed to.
When they were doing the montage of fantasy suites, I couldn’t help but think if they did that kind of montage on Bachelor/Bachelorette 😂 It’s just the lead boutta sleep with 3 dudes…would be hilarious! The producers were trying to get Dean to propose. That was the point of bringing them there but Dean wasn't having it. Getting tired of all the producer manipulation.

I BEEN LIKED Thomas! He’s the only one that told the truth on Katie’s season. Everyone, men and women, on the show thinks about the possibility of being the lead. EVERYONE! It’s human nature. And it’s okay as long as they are also open to the process and the possibly of falling in love
I got the impression Joe was annoyed with Kendall. Rightly so . It seemed like Kendall was dragging her feet because she could see that joe was not please to see her. That said he responded to her kindly. Also, I really appreciated the respect Joe showed toward Serena in this situation; Kendall said a part of her will always love Joe , Joe responded Merely saying she’s a catch.
I feel like she was trying to get him to go down memory lane again, or acknowledge their love story. She still sees Joe in relation to herself and doesn’t understand that he’s all about Serena. She really just repeated everything she’d already said. It didn’t feel like a “blessing” bc she only mentioned Serena once. It was mostly about herself and feelings for him & I don’t know how she expected him to respond. Serena said she as very surprised he actually proposed so maybe Kendall thought it was just a final rose ceremony & doubted there’d be an engagement. Although production had to set this up so I think she’d prob know.

I did enjoy the variety tho of all the different couples vs Bachelor/Bachelorette when the contestants are all vying for one person’s attention. Loved the ending with the 3 engagements (wishing them all the best!) and the bromance of Aaron and James was a treat! I like how a fan suggested that they make Wells the host of BIP and bring on Aaron & James as bartenders!😜

I was surprised too that Thomas didn't give production any comments during the car ride. I don't think anyone on any of the Bachelor shows ever since the first iteration back in the early 2000s, has ever managed to stay silent during their elimination car ride. Only Thomas was able to manage it. Staying silent was a smart move, as it gave production less ability to typecast him.
I love Andy’s love for Thomas. He loves him almost as much as I do 😂😂 I enjoy the Thomas love that y’all gave him cause the hate for him is disgusting and we already know the fans treats the black cast members like crap when they don’t like them for whatever reason and Thomas was just one black person that they could pick on cause it was a trend on Katie’s season

Agree with a lot that you said, as always. I think that Joe and Serena are a great match personality-wise and how Joe looked at Serena after their night together, you could tell he was a smitten kitten. My concern for them long-term is that it was repeated many times that Kendall and Joe didn't break up for lack of love but because of logistics and now he's engaged to a woman from another country... I gotta hope there was a conversation somewhere between them where Serena said she was open to moving to Chicago that was left on the cutting floor, otherwise Joe is putting himself in the same situation two times in a row. Very interested for the future to reveal how things turn out for the three engaged couples. That's the beauty of BIP - participants have a variety of people to choose from, unlike Bachelor/Bachelorette where there is only one possible prospect.
Joe and Serena have done interviews since where they are deciding between moving between Chicago, Toronto, & New York. The fact that 2/3 of the options have Joe moving somewhere means that he clearly sees much more potential in this relationship that he didn’t see with Kendall.
Sharleen and Andy's dynamic is so sweet. It is adorable how Sharleen always begins with, "How are you doing, Andy," as if she hasn't spent all day with him. However, it is Andy's reactions to all this Bachelor minutia that make this segment.
I was initially underwhelmed by the cast line-up and drama early on (Brendan, Demi etc.) and as a result wasn't expecting too much. As it turns out, it was one of the more touching seasons and I believe in all three couples. Your commentary, at this point, is more the main feature to me than the actual show. I can't wait for Bachelorette!
I prefer BIP anymore over the regular Bachelor and Bachelorette. I really wish they would do the “senior” bachelor season more like BIP than the standard format. Finding love or even long-lasting friendships is much harder later in life and I can’t imagine there being 1 lead and 25-30 thirsty seniors. It’s just a recipe for disaster. If a BIP format, it would give everyone the time to meet various people and really connect. They could have all group date situations at first such as dance classes, or hiking, or a group volunteer activity, etc. Maybe make the setting a lakeside retreat. There’s so much they could do to not ruin it, but we’ll see if production veers very far from their formula.

I think Noah knew that Abigail wasn’t going to open up and be able to get there - he came to Paradise for her solely and I think his intentions were there from the beginning. I think he felt Abigail want fully able to open up to him and he worried about that after the show and instead of making it about her and blaming her, he tried to take the blame so she could be mad at him instead of the other way around.
oh wow there is so much to talk about with this finale.. but my favorites were the proposals (they were all so cute!!!), the montage at the end showing the good moments of the season & the where are they now segment and Michele's preview!! That was crazy! I cannot wait for her season!! OH, AND AARON AND JAMES LEAVING TOGETHER WAS PRICELESS!!!! HAHAHAHA!!
I play piano bar. I have never met another person that does this job that doesn't hate "Piano Man", lol. It pretty much gets requested at least once a set, along with "Margaritaville". My nominations for most hated requests are "American Pie" (interminable length) & the dreaded "My Way" & "Send In The Clowns".

Sharleen talked about incentive to stay on the show in the final moments and how there is no incentive...isn't the Neil Lane ring a small incentive to stay on the show? I think they're typically valued ~100k at least, and they get to keep if if they're together a few years?
Good point! So, I think the ring could be an incentive if you really do think you're going to make it (as in, you think you'll get engaged anyway, so why not cash in and get the ring now). However, if you were just in it for the airtime and followers, 2 years is a loooong time to fake a healthy relationship. And when we're talking hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers, and you have the personality for it, influencing can make that $$$ in 2 years anyway (AND you don't have to fake the relationship). I definitely think the ring was more of an incentive in years past but nothing has changed this game more than Instagram has!

I also said Thomas wasn't a bad guy back when he was on Katie's season. I said I thought he was being a little manipulative back then, but he's clearly learned what he did wrong. He was much more thoughtful this go around. I also think he's way more into Becca than he was Katie.

Thomas never did anything to get all the hate he got. Katie's men started the crap and Katie kept it going. I am happy for Thomas, he got a real queen, in the classy Becca. I was rooting for them.

With what a crazy season this was, I’m surprised the proposals seemed so genuine.
With Kendall, what could they possibly have offered her to make her do that? I understand it was producer driven but she still did it. She has to bear a little of what happened. Joe was clearly super angry about it all, I don’t blame him.

Sharlene, your "I don't have it in me" and Andy, your "I told you so" had me laughing, but watching you two are my favorite hour all week anyway. I find myself torn. I'm really sad this is the last BIP recap, but I couldn't be happier about the three in-love couples, that were the product of this season, and their corresponding engagements. Being born and raised in Chicago and having moved to Arizona many years ago, I can fully understand how Kendall not wanting to plant roots there would be the detriment to her and Joe's relationship. I don't know how I personally could ever leave sun and warmth for snow and cold to move back there for any reason. However, it's in my blood, so to speak, and it's just such a beautiful, cultural city, so I can 100% understand why Grocery Store Joe would want to live his life there and break up with Kendall because of it. And people may not understand how Serena, agreeing to at least live part of their time there, or maybe move to Chicago in the end, would be the glue that holds them together, but I get it. I just spent the last 1/3 of my life with my friends and family on the other side of the U.S. because they couldn't break that hold that Chicago had on them. Many have passed away there, and that's really sad, but I digress. Riley and Maurissa are perfect for each other. Being an attorney, Riley had to be certain that she was into him and not his money (or potential for money), and Maurissa proved that over and over again. Let's be real, there is no hiding true love. And, lastly, Kenny & Mari... I honestly experienced "love at first sight" with my current husband, and next month will mark 15 years since that night we first laid eyes on each other. So there is something to be said about that. I do believe that Kenny experienced that (not so sure about Mari), and I fully believe with Mari's high emotional intelligence and Kenny's love for her, their love for each other will only grow with time. Thank you again for all the laughs. You two are the couple that everyone and anyone would want to be friends with, but if we can't get that, just watching your videos is good enough for now. Sharlene, maybe you'll write a book, since you're so good at writing and expressing yourself, and you and Andy can travel the world doing book signings, taking pictures with your adoring fans, and making us laugh with you the entire time :-) XOXOXO

Kenny and Mari remind me of Nick and Natalie. Serious relationship (not much levity), huge age difference and from an outsider looking in, the relationship is highly based on looks.
That is so funny too because Nick is highly judgmental of Mari and Kenny..a bit of projection on his part!

The only recap I watch. You two have a wonderful blend of maturity, humor, class and insight. I do have to say sometimes this show stoops too low and is actually heartless and abusive and bringing back Kendall was one. The fact is that she went along with it, no one had a gun to her head. I hope she has learned a tough life lesson that your integrity should never be for sale.
Totally agree. I have it on good authority she was lied to and didn't think she was interrupting an engagement, which to me is definitely a case of heartlessless/abuse on production's part. I agree she didn't have to go along with it, but I do think if she was convinced by being told there *wouldn't* be an engagement, it does change the circumstances slightly. (And notice how TPTB are never to blame.) Regardless, you're right: "integrity should never be for sale" 👏
I agree - I think after everything we have seen, whoever goes on this show needs to be careful as the producers do not have your best interest at heart and the worst part is you won't be able to defend yourself based on whatever contract you agreed to.

I got the impression Joe was annoyed with Kendall. Rightly so . It seemed like Kendall was dragging her feet because she could see that joe was not please to see her. That said he responded to her kindly.
Also, I really appreciated the respect Joe showed toward Serena in this situation; Kendall said a part of her will always love Joe , Joe responded Merely saying she’s a catch.
I feel like she was trying to get him to go down memory lane again, or acknowledge their love story. She still sees Joe in relation to herself and doesn’t understand that he’s all about Serena. She really just repeated everything she’d already said. It didn’t feel like a “blessing” bc she only mentioned Serena once. It was mostly about herself and feelings for him & I don’t know how she expected him to respond. Serena said she as very surprised he actually proposed so maybe Kendall thought it was just a final rose ceremony & doubted there’d be an engagement. Although production had to set this up so I think she’d prob know.

I did enjoy the variety tho of all the different couples vs Bachelor/Bachelorette when the contestants are all vying for one person’s attention. Loved the ending with the 3 engagements (wishing them all the best!) and the bromance of Aaron and James was a treat! I like how a fan suggested that they make Wells the host of BIP and bring on Aaron & James as bartenders!😜

I was surprised too that Thomas didn't give production any comments during the car ride. I don't think anyone on any of the Bachelor shows ever since the first iteration back in the early 2000s, has ever managed to stay silent during their elimination car ride. Only Thomas was able to manage it. Staying silent was a smart move, as it gave production less ability to typecast him.

Agree with a lot that you said, as always. I think that Joe and Serena are a great match personality-wise and how Joe looked at Serena after their night together, you could tell he was a smitten kitten. My concern for them long-term is that it was repeated many times that Kendall and Joe didn't break up for lack of love but because of logistics and now he's engaged to a woman from another country... I gotta hope there was a conversation somewhere between them where Serena said she was open to moving to Chicago that was left on the cutting floor, otherwise Joe is putting himself in the same situation two times in a row. Very interested for the future to reveal how things turn out for the three engaged couples. That's the beauty of BIP - participants have a variety of people to choose from, unlike Bachelor/Bachelorette where there is only one possible prospect.
Joe and Serena have done interviews since where they are deciding between moving between Chicago, Toronto, & New York.
The fact that 2/3 of the options have Joe moving somewhere means that he clearly sees much more potential in this relationship that he didn’t see with Kendall.

Sharleen and Andy's dynamic is so sweet. It is adorable how Sharleen always begins with, "How are you doing, Andy," as if she hasn't spent all day with him. However, it is Andy's reactions to all this Bachelor minutia that make this segment.
I was initially underwhelmed by the cast line-up and drama early on (Brendan, Demi etc.) and as a result wasn't expecting too much. As it turns out, it was one of the more touching seasons and I believe in all three couples. Your commentary, at this point, is more the main feature to me than the actual show. I can't wait for Bachelorette!

I prefer BIP anymore over the regular Bachelor and Bachelorette. I really wish they would do the “senior” bachelor season more like BIP than the standard format. Finding love or even long-lasting friendships is much harder later in life and I can’t imagine there being 1 lead and 25-30 thirsty seniors. It’s just a recipe for disaster. If a BIP format, it would give everyone the time to meet various people and really connect. They could have all group date situations at first such as dance classes, or hiking, or a group volunteer activity, etc. Maybe make the setting a lakeside retreat. There’s so much they could do to not ruin it, but we’ll see if production veers very far from their formula.

I think Noah knew that Abigail wasn’t going to open up and be able to get there - he came to Paradise for her solely and I think his intentions were there from the beginning. I think he felt Abigail want fully able to open up to him and he worried about that after the show and instead of making it about her and blaming her, he tried to take the blame so she could be mad at him instead of the other way around.

Haha y'all talking about people sneaking out to the exit at the last minute reminded me of like a water park ride where there's an exit before the really scary fall, but if the current gets too strong and you don't get to it in time, you will be forced to keep going to the drop. Sharleen talked about incentive to stay on the show in the final moments and how there is no incentive...isn't the Neil Lane ring a small incentive to stay on the show? I think they're typically valued ~100k at least, and they get to keep if if they're together a few years?
Good point! So, I think the ring could be an incentive if you really do think you're going to make it (as in, you think you'll get engaged anyway, so why not cash in and get the ring now). However, if you were just in it for the airtime and followers, 2 years is a loooong time to fake a healthy relationship. And when we're talking hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers, and you have the personality for it, influencing can make that $$$ in 2 years anyway (AND you don't have to fake the relationship). I definitely think the ring was more of an incentive in years past but nothing has changed this game more than Instagram has!
