I had a teacher in sixth grade who was a stereotypical lesbian. I found out, well, I don’t exactly remember when - maybe some time in high school or even later than that when I thought back to her for some reason and connected the dots. She taught social studies, and just like the straight teachers, her romantic and home life had nothing to do with school, and as such was never mentioned. These current ones presenting this stuff in grammar school have no business being anywhere NEAR children.

There is a difference between ALLOWING a child to read a book and ASSIGNING a child a book. My child should not be required by a teacher to read anything pornographic or obscene. But that is happening at our school.

As an outsider looking in who's seen examples of US parents chucked out of school meetings for reciting what's in a school's library, I can make no sense of it. I think that's the issue with small fiefdoms over large bodies, like State based education departments. Then it's less likely such material would end up in a school library. The smaller the group, the more easily infiltrated by activists. If there's one thing we've learned about the far left it's that hypocrisy seems more common amongst them (and I'm a leftie).

I just had a lightbulb moment. The recent trend of schools banning phones and actually enforcing the ban isn't because they care about education. It is so kids can't record evidence of what their teachers are saying and doing. Even when I think they're at least doing something that I agree with and makes sense, such as banning cell phones, it is still to their benefit to further their agenda.
Just from my personal experience with the dozen-or-so trans-identifying people that I know, they are extremely volatile and sensitive, every one of them. The world needs to "go with their flow" or they break down and anyone who hurts their feelings gets labeled as something derogatory. As a result, most people avoid them. That is no way to live. In my first year at school, there was a police Constable who would visit the classroom to talk to us about how to keep ourselves safe; good secrets vs bad secrets, stranger danger, when and how to contact the police - all that sort of thing. Everyone in the school knew his name and the kids loved him because he would visit in his uniform and sometimes he brought his K9 with him. He was the person who provided the kind of ‘sex education’ Frances is talking about. The teacher was present in the classroom for these lessons, but they were run by Constable Kelly. We also had a fire fighter come to class in his uniform to talk to us about fire safety - he even gave us homework! There are more benefits to this method than just the education itself - benefits that the teachers can’t provide.

I don't know if I've seen evidence of it being banned anywhere, I'm sure that's a localized thing if it is true, but 'trigger warnings' HAVE become very common for books that contain 'problematic themes' in them. The book used to be required reading when I was in school and it still should be imo.

California public schools absolutely does this without asking the parents. My daughter came home from 5th grade health class, she said they had a special day where health class was the whole day. They asked all kids in the class if they knew what some of the alphabet words mean, and took a survey asking if they were any of those. Then the whole day was devoted to "education" about the alphabet "identities" and they took another survey at the end of the class. The teacher encouraged the kids to "be brave" and raise their hand if they changed their mind about whether or not they are actually another gender or attracted to a different gender than they thought they were before they had the "learning experience." A few kids raised their hand and the whole class gave them a round of applause for their "bravery." This is brainwashing
And meanwhile, all these personal surveys are being kept and linked to the child's record, for future marketing. Kids need to know they can opt out. Legally they can't be required to divulge personal details about themselves to the teacher and class and school.

This was probably intended to protect teachers who needed to discuss this type of thing in relation to teaching children about the science of reproduction. The law was also written a long time ago, when teachers were considered to be trusted members of the community. Now it seems to be being abused by queer activists, who are able to get away with things that would get anyone else thrown in jail. I think we need to take a hard look at this exemption, and consider whether it is still appropriate today.
I'm a former teacher myself. I left my home in Canada because in large part, how my kids were being educated in the classroom. I saw it firsthand as a teacher and I saw it being done to my kids. There are so many problems with education that it is no understatement when she said "we need to dismantle the education system". It really does need a massive reform and the union needs to be taken apart too. It has grown to become a cancerous tumor in society that is the root cause of so many problems we see today. A huge undertaking that will invoke a massive backlash but it needs to be done. It's beyond redemption.
My family left Canada partially for that reason as well as speech laws and the economy. Luckily my wife is American so we were able to move relatively easily.
It was 1964, and I was six years old in kindergarten in Whiby Ontario. Our teacher explained to us that all wars, poverty, violence, prejudice, etc, etc... we're the fault of one particular group of ppl. She explained that the education system was responsible for saving the world from these folks. Staying in school would also save 50% of us from becoming one of these monsters when we grew up. Our family moved a lot. I heard 3 times as many teachers as the average kid, and these were the first and only adults ever to tell me that it's OK to judge and target someone based on gender or race. They presented many other ideas/plans. Some of those ideas had an obvious hint of vengence. A few students could sence this. I was just a kid, but believe me, they had gotten my attention. Now, I find it difficult to not judge and target each of them as members of a horrid and destructive group. All in the interest of fairness, of course.

If you don't indoctrinate your kids, someone else will. The right refused to stand their ground on principles and the left rapidly took over almost every institution of private and public life in just a few decades because of the cowardice of the so called "leaders" on the right. I hope we never forget this and never step back from the culture war after this. The radical left wants to dismantle every branch of civilization based on the classic liberalism of Western Civilization. They have no idea what they'll replace it with, but that doesn't matter. They are consumed with hatred for anything and everything, so they'll hate what comes after just as much as what was before. We can't allow this to happen. 3. She was right, it's the communists. They started planning this in the 1950's. Read "The Naked Communist" by W. Cleon Skousen, former FBI agent who infiltrated and tracked the communist dangers back then. Bottom line, McCarthy was 100% right... The takeover of the schools was 100% planned. Then follow up that book with "The Naked Truth" by James C. Bowers. There is no conspiracy, the commies were 100% upfront about this. They told us how they were going to subvert our country and then they did it.
As someone who used to identify as "a Democrat," what happens when many wake up to how the party has actually embraced views that simply must be repudiated, you just change your voter registration. I'm a terrible practising catholic - my daughter goes to catholic high school where crap like this isn't taught...they teach maths, English, History, visual arts, tech, science, geography, religion and PDH - they teach tolerance, social values and acceptance but not indoctrination - talk to the teachers about grades and support as parents we can provide not this crap
A friend of mine was at a school play for his grandson in Oklahoma and saw a young boy with a tail in the hallway after the play. My friend commented to his daughter "what part did he play? I don't remember a cat being in the play". His daughter whispered to him "dad, don't say anything out loud, I'll tell you later". He found out later that the boy believed he was a cat and the school actually had to fight to NOT put a litter box in the bathrooms.

I had to go to emergency during the lockdowns. I had never seen the hospital so empty. I had to wait 4 hours nevertheless, in pain, while having to listen to the few nurses who were there laughing (cackling) at jokes from co workers. They WERE NOT stressed. One of them kept talking about the places she was planning on travelling to as soon as mandates were over. I had to wait an extra hour because the doctor had gone to lunch while my blood work results were already available. That was the beginning of my journey of red pill after red pill. The government doesn’t care. Most health care personnel doesn’t care. We are just paycheques.

I have been so vocal about this, both online and in life and very few people seem to grasp the severity. I remember being in denial about sex trafficking in the church years ago... So I understand. Difference is, once I saw the proof. I immediately accepted I was wrong.
It’s true that this all has been going on for a long time. This was happening in Washington state when I was in school in the 2000’s-early mid 2010’s. It was more subtle and nobody cared to dig, and kids when asked if they learned anything at school would say “nothing”. They were also being groomed at home a lot of the time too. Social media was also being developed, so it being discovered through media was slim to none. Especially since our parents were still learning how to text.
I work in elementary education in canada. I can confirm that kids as young as 5 ( kindergarten) are getting told things such as you can be "born in the wrong body". I do not particpate in this indoctrination and do what i can to counter it. But school districts and schools do purchase materials and hire presenters that promote gender ideology. There are even specialized teaching positions (called a disrrict SOGI lead) where this indoctrination is overseen and promoted and lists of suggested books are provided for schools and libraries to use as guides for purchasing. Every montly staff meeting includes a segment from this "SOGI lead". I have heard a school principal tell staff about how any parent who expresses concerns will be informed that it is part of the curriculum and do not even get to opt out. Luckily, I am in a position where I can and do quietly remove the most egregious of the materials when possible, and can make decisons not to include the worst of the woke materials, some of which are truly lame. Other materials are just plain wrong and factually inaccurate ( too many examples to list here, but one is a book about two drag queen transvestite MEN in England who are called women in this nonfiction book about gay and trangender history). Thankfully, I am not alone amongst my collegues in my resistance to and diaagreement with gender ideology. Btw, the book "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" that Francis mentioned is indeed a wonderful book about the horrors of the holocaust as experienced by two boys on opposite sides of the fence, the fence being that surrounding a concentration camp containing Jews. I recommend it. One boy is a Jewish prisoner; the other boy is the son of a Nazi. It is a truly powerful story and I am glad that Francis used it in his teaching.

As an outsider looking in who's seen examples of US parents chucked out of school meetings for reciting what's in a school's library, I can make no sense of it. I think that's the issue with small fiefdoms over large bodies, like State based education departments. Then it's less likely such material would end up in a school library. The smaller the group, the more easily infiltrated by activists. If there's one thing we've learned about the far left it's that hypocrisy seems more common amongst them (and I'm a leftie).

I just had a lightbulb moment. The recent trend of schools banning phones and actually enforcing the ban isn't because they care about education. It is so kids can't record evidence of what their teachers are saying and doing. Even when I think they're at least doing something that I agree with and makes sense, such as banning cell phones, it is still to their benefit to further their agenda.

Just from my personal experience with the dozen-or-so trans-identifying people that I know, they are extremely volatile and sensitive, every one of them. The world needs to "go with their flow" or they break down and anyone who hurts their feelings gets labeled as something derogatory. As a result, most people avoid them. That is no way to live. In my first year at school, there was a police Constable who would visit the classroom to talk to us about how to keep ourselves safe; good secrets vs bad secrets, stranger danger, when and how to contact the police - all that sort of thing. Everyone in the school knew his name and the kids loved him because he would visit in his uniform and sometimes he brought his K9 with him. He was the person who provided the kind of ‘sex education’ Frances is talking about. The teacher was present in the classroom for these lessons, but they were run by Constable Kelly. We also had a fire fighter come to class in his uniform to talk to us about fire safety - he even gave us homework! There are more benefits to this method than just the education itself - benefits that the teachers can’t provide.

I don't know if I've seen evidence of it being banned anywhere, I'm sure that's a localized thing if it is true, but 'trigger warnings' HAVE become very common for books that contain 'problematic themes' in them. The book used to be required reading when I was in school and it still should be imo.

California public schools absolutely does this without asking the parents. My daughter came home from 5th grade health class, she said they had a special day where health class was the whole day. They asked all kids in the class if they knew what some of the alphabet words mean, and took a survey asking if they were any of those. Then the whole day was devoted to "education" about the alphabet "identities" and they took another survey at the end of the class. The teacher encouraged the kids to "be brave" and raise their hand if they changed their mind about whether or not they are actually another gender or attracted to a different gender than they thought they were before they had the "learning experience." A few kids raised their hand and the whole class gave them a round of applause for their "bravery." This is brainwashing

I'm a former teacher myself. I left my home in Canada because in large part, how my kids were being educated in the classroom. I saw it firsthand as a teacher and I saw it being done to my kids. There are so many problems with education that it is no understatement when she said "we need to dismantle the education system". It really does need a massive reform and the union needs to be taken apart too. It has grown to become a cancerous tumor in society that is the root cause of so many problems we see today. A huge undertaking that will invoke a massive backlash but it needs to be done. It's beyond redemption.
My family left Canada partially for that reason as well as speech laws and the economy. Luckily my wife is American so we were able to move relatively easily.
Both countries need to be reformed.

Our teacher explained to us that all wars, poverty, violence, prejudice, etc, etc... we're the fault of one particular group of ppl.
She explained that the education system was responsible for saving the world from these folks. Staying in school would also save 50% of us from becoming one of these monsters when we grew up.
Our family moved a lot. I heard 3 times as many teachers as the average kid, and these were the first and only adults ever to tell me that it's OK to judge and target someone based on gender or race. They presented many other ideas/plans. Some of those ideas had an obvious hint of vengence. A few students could sence this.
I was just a kid, but believe me, they had gotten my attention.
Now, I find it difficult to not judge and target each of them as members of a horrid and destructive group. All in the interest of fairness, of course.

1. If you love your children.... FIND A WAY to homeschool them. If you don't indoctrinate your kids, someone else will. Don't expect the state to do it, or the state to clean up the schools. Your kids need a good education NOW, not in decades when they've cleaned this mess out of the schools. There are EXCELLENT resources for homeschooling out there. Use them.
2. This was allowed to happen because the Right disengaged from the culture war and made a conscious decision that they would only engage on matters of the economy and the market and capitalism. The right refused to stand their ground on principles and the left rapidly took over almost every institution of private and public life in just a few decades because of the cowardice of the so called "leaders" on the right. I hope we never forget this and never step back from the culture war after this. The radical left wants to dismantle every branch of civilization based on the classic liberalism of Western Civilization. They have no idea what they'll replace it with, but that doesn't matter. They are consumed with hatred for anything and everything, so they'll hate what comes after just as much as what was before. We can't allow this to happen.
3. She was right, it's the communists. They started planning this in the 1950's. Read "The Naked Communist" by W. As someone who used to identify as "a Democrat," what happens when many wake up to how the party has actually embraced views that simply must be repudiated, you just change your voter registration. You walk away. We have a two-party system, even though George Washington warned against it. And right now, the dividing line between them is very stark. It hasn't always been, but it is at this time.
I'm a terrible practising catholic - my daughter goes to catholic high school where crap like this isn't taught...they teach maths, English, History, visual arts, tech, science, geography, religion and PDH - they teach tolerance, social values and acceptance but not indoctrination - talk to the teachers about grades and support as parents we can provide not this crap
A friend of mine was at a school play for his grandson in Oklahoma and saw a young boy with a tail in the hallway after the play. My friend commented to his daughter "what part did he play? I don't remember a cat being in the play". His daughter whispered to him "dad, don't say anything out loud, I'll tell you later". He found out later that the boy believed he was a cat and the school actually had to fight to NOT put a litter box in the bathrooms.

The dancing nurses thing was particularly egregious given we were being told the hospitals were apocalyptically overcrowded at the time. Yet these nurses have the time and energy to organize, practice, set up and perform choreographed dance routines ffs. With 100 yards of totally empty hallway in the background. Is that what a hospital looks like during a global pandemic? Or is that what it looks like when society is shut down and everyone is locked inside their house?

One of them kept talking about the places she was planning on travelling to as soon as mandates were over. I had to wait an extra hour because the doctor had gone to lunch while my blood work results were already available. That was the beginning of my journey of red pill after red pill. The government doesn’t care. Most health care personnel doesn’t care. We are just paycheques.

It’s true that this all has been going on for a long time. This was happening in Washington state when I was in school in the 2000’s-early mid 2010’s. It was more subtle and nobody cared to dig, and kids when asked if they learned anything at school would say “nothing”. They were also being groomed at home a lot of the time too. Social media was also being developed, so it being discovered through media was slim to none. Especially since our parents were still learning how to text.

I work in elementary education in canada. I can confirm that kids as young as 5 ( kindergarten) are getting told things such as you can be "born in the wrong body". I do not particpate in this indoctrination and do what i can to counter it. But school districts and schools do purchase materials and hire presenters that promote gender ideology. There are even specialized teaching positions (called a disrrict SOGI lead) where this indoctrination is overseen and promoted and lists of suggested books are provided for schools and libraries to use as guides for purchasing. Every montly staff meeting includes a segment from this "SOGI lead". I have heard a school principal tell staff about how any parent who expresses concerns will be informed that it is part of the curriculum and do not even get to opt out.
Luckily, I am in a position where I can and do quietly remove the most egregious of the materials when possible, and can make decisons not to include the worst of the woke materials, some of which are truly lame. Other materials are just plain wrong and factually inaccurate ( too many examples to list here, but one is a book about two drag queen transvestite MEN in England who are called women in this nonfiction book about gay and trangender history).
Thankfully, I am not alone amongst my collegues in my resistance to and diaagreement with gender ideology.
Btw, the book "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" that Francis mentioned is indeed a wonderful book about the horrors of the holocaust as experienced by two boys on opposite sides of the fence, the fence being that surrounding a concentration camp containing Jews. I recommend it. One boy is a Jewish prisoner; the other boy is the son of a Nazi. It is a truly powerful story and I am glad that Francis used it in his teaching.
