Why would I ever listen to some biased journalists about this issue instead of a doctor who specializes in trans therapy? Who cares with this dum dum btch has to say about anything?
My child Desisted after 3 years of social transition, Age 12-15. We literally had to protect her from being medicalized by Teachers and Therapists who are beholden to the Affirmation model in California. We’ve been through hell but our girl is finally safe.
In South Australia my 17 year old son was going to a psychologist for anxiety through my Doctors surgery. It was determined he was ADHD but was on the list for formal diagnosis. Separately our GP referred him to a Gender Doctor who after two 15 minute appointments had him on blockers and cross hormones. I found out 7 months later. It then took a further 6 months to get his formal ADHD diagnosis and those medications. I haven't seen or spoken to my son now 18 months because after researching and dealing with his lying I chose not to affirm. He then followed the creepy online advice to Ghost me. It has truely broken my heart and broken my family. Doctors, MP's, Health Minister Not interested.
That's heartbreaking. I'm sorry, I have been trying to wake people up for years. People need to ask why do doctors push this on young/vulnerable people so quickly and as in your case even when it has nothing to do with what the patient goes to see the GP for in the first place. This isn't medical staff doing what they think is right its because they are being pressured to hit certain numbers. The reason is plain as day its simply to dramatically collapse the world population by pushing gay agendas, as well as transing/sterilising as many young people as possible. This will obviously put the breeding population into a massive decline. You can choose yourself from the reasons they would want this - climate change and over population, AI being very close to doing every job better than humans and we are no longer needed or a reason you may think of yourself as they are many advantages to the elites for decreasing human numbers. I know this doesn't help your situation but it might help your child think more deeply about why he is being pushed into something that isn't even real in the first place.
That's horrible. In Victoria a parent who so much as prays a child with gender dysphoria recovers carries a ten year jail sentence. Affirmation by law. As a nation we need to stop this.
Like other people, I noticed Ms. Buttons nervousness and thought it was because of lack of practice at public speaking. When I learned she had Asperger's I was very impressed at how well she did! I've known several people with Asperger's, one an outstanding software engineer, and she has much better speaking skills than any of them. That is one of the reasons you don't hear much about people on the autism spectrum, because they don't make great guests on talk shows. I thank you for having her on your show. She should go on more talk shows!
I agree, her speaking manner is exactly what we need in these discussions. I think more ASD people should be involved in these types of discussions and be in charge of resulting policy decisions. Unfortunately I think most people want to be infotained…they want the drama and heated discussions. Her “dry” style won’t get clicks.
This was difficult to watch and listen to on a number of levels. But it should be required viewing for anyone in the medical profession and anyone who cares about what's being done to children in the name of social justice. Hats off to Christina, who appears to be not entirely comfortable being interviewed yet overcoming her discomfort, and to Konstantin and Francis for giving her a platform and trying to make her as comfortable as possible, so that people can hear the truth about what's going on.
I didn't find this dry at all. She (Christina) is phenomenal. She brings a gravitas to the subject that is unique. She's also highly articulate and knowledgeable. A huge thank you for this episode to KK and Francis and of course to Christina. 💜 Learned a lot.
Why does it take 4-8 years? Simple. That's when they realize that the interventions, trips to the doctors, and frequent complications associated with these treatments will never end. That's when they start to realize that the doctors really don't know what they're doing or how to fix the problems. Or that none of the things that are promised to be "fixed" with transitioning ever were fixed.
And they realise after all this torturous treatment, they are still the sex that was observed at birth but now they have a failing body instead of a healthy one.
Not always, sometimes it simply that you realize it didn't fix you on the inside. Even with "normal" cosmetic surgeries like nose jobs have a high regret rate in a few years. Because changing the outside won't change how you feel on the inside.
That's also when they realize they have been sterilized and can't create families of their own, and that they never really could give consent as children to these side effects.
And when the deteriorating effects of wrong sex hormones start. Young people have absolutely no concept of what to deal with healthwise when you get older. Just thinking of the unnecessary scar tissue to deal with and the toll on your body if they get any kind of "top/bottom" surgery.
How can they justify putting children that have not even had a chance to fully develop through gender reassignment? They havent developed enough to know really what they are or are not. Its disgusting.

@@tomfrien I don't think it's monetary greed, for once. I think these people really do believe they are helping and, more importantly, they have a huge sense of righteousness that they do. It's about being on the "right side of history" for them. You will even find them using that phrase somewhat often. They want to be the ones who say "See, I was on board with the gender stuff FIRST, I was on the front lines helping while all the bigots naysayed and watched!" It's just wild the cognitive dissonance, how the very same people will say "It's ok if you can't figure out your college major, it's too much to ask of an 18 year old to make such a big choice and be right" and "Getting married too young is dangerous, you'll not now how to choose and might make a mistake." The difference here is that transitioning kids does, theoretically, give them the best chance to be a passable and indistinguishable member of the opposite sex and that's a big part of the rush and push. I think we can agree on that, that once a kid goes through puberty, the odds of becoming "a dude in a dress" instead of looking like an actual female are almost certain. But where the failing is, of course, is that kids don't know what they want and can't see long term consequences and effects. They don't know how people will actually perceive them, how it will not solve their issues, etc.
Great interview. As a teacher of Autistic children and kids with developmental and behavioral issues, I pretty much agree with everything she said. Over the last 10 years being “trans” has exploded in the Autistic community. I have never had so many students in my career that want to either socially or eventually physically transition. A lot of these kids are not even 100% sure what trans even is, but tik tok and social media have convinced them that they are trans. On the flip side, I have been seeing more and more students “snap out of it” so to speak. These kids all tried to “socially transition” and eventually figured it out for themselves. Life and society are confusing to these kids and all the lies in the media are not helping.

No one is denying that unless they are genuinely insane or delusional. I think we need to make it clear that no amount of hormones or domestic surgery changes the definition of what a woman and man is. You have to remember the way these ppl operate, they constantly contradict themselves and attempt to change definitions of words that hold significant meaning.
My wife is on the autism spectrum. She told me when we met that she is not like other women. Recently she told me exactly what this young woman said ie that she would have undergone the trans stuff if her teacher had told her to. When I was young my granny noticed that I had something wrong with my speech - I spoke in a monotone and I got training. I was later put on stage in front of lots of parents to recite a poem and demonstrate how wonderful my treatment was. I failed - but only just. The other girls mostly were using their arms and faces to demonstrate happiness and sadness.
If you watch destransitioner videos, you will see in the comments literally hundreds of women like your wife (and me) who are so thankful the trans movement wasn’t around when we were kids. It’s not rocket science. We know we’re not like them - the other girls. A lot of us get on better with boys and men. And there is some detachment from one’s body inherent in Autism, often manifesting in the form of terrible proprioception.
WPATH hired Johns Hopkins to do a systematic review in the US and the results were recently discovered to have been withheld by WPATH due to them not liking the outcome.

I met someone I got close to over the past 8 months who also has some mental disabilities. This is individual was convinced to get trans surgery. Ultimately removing his scrotum. I legit feel bad for this person as not only is this person still brainwashed into the ideology but I can imagine it would be devastating even if you did Force this person to recognize the truth. Not only can this person never put back what was lost.. but now he can't even leave their home state due to the need for chemicals to keep him alive. The trans surgeries do nothing but leave devastation and ruin in their wake

My heart goes out to this girl. She's like a beautiful bird with a broken wing that is mending. She's already showing signs of tremendous strength and an inclination to fly. She will fly, and high.
It's more difficult and nuasunced than that. What if a biological woman needs a hysterectomy or mastectomy? What if a man with gynaecomastia (breasts) wants them removed? Or a testicle removed due to cancer? Our laws are always written in an open to interpretation model.
The word ‘confusion’ should make an appearance here. Puberty is a traumatic time and unqualified ‘experts’ are utilising unproven protocol for $’s and ego.
The thing about it, is that puberty doesn't have to be a traumatic time. We're making it traumatic. Kids are losing a lot of what was previously seen as Rites of Passage. When I used to hang out with my friends, we would just go wherever. Mom didn't know where we were all the time.

I had a man I know tell me he caught his son on top of his much younger sister. She stopped talking. Abuse of children causes many, many different psychological reactions. In the US they cover this up because abuse of children is a common part of the culture today. They would have to acknowledge the various conditions resulting from that instead of saying people are born this way or it's some big mystery. Human behavior is very predictable.
When a health crisis becomes political it's never going to end well. I'm so glad that Ms Buttons is brave enough to talk about it. The general population are so snowballed by this that to even suggest there's a problem is to incite hatred. It's pretty damn scatu actually.

I’m 31 years old but, when I was a child I thought I was a boy and even stated it to adults. Further, I was diagnosed with Autism at around age 7, it was called “Aspergers”, back then. I can only imagine the horrors if I was a child or teenager in this day and age.

I'm so glad experts are coming forward and speaking about these issues. I remember the recovered memory issue back in the 80s and 90s and it was indeed terrible. It's a good allegory, though. It's also really gratifying that you've invited someone with Asperger’s to speak, I was married to someone with Asperger’s and he was always so frustrated when he would try to get something across at work or in discussions and people would interrupt him and not let him speak fully. He turned to blogging (in the 90s) because he could get his thoughts down and organized without the pressure of delivering it at a certain pace, and of course was well received there.

She is so well spoken and her empathy shines through. I’m a bit of a fan of the daily wire but I think it’s good that she left. Matt Walsh and Michael Knowles need to take the temperature in the room. It is 2024 and not 1954.
I would bet that the percentage of Autistic Females is actually MUCH greater than reported, or even suspected. Because Autism presents differently in Females as opposed to Males, the Psychiatric community has only recently started to acknowledge the disorder in Females and gathering data to get a better understanding of it. Unfortunately, as a result, there's still a large number of Females that go undiagnosed, or are diagnosed later in life typically from the patients doing their own research and seeking out a diagnosis. And even then, a lot of Women struggle to get that diagnosis. That being said, with the already unusually high rate of Autistic Females being labeled as Trans, statistically speaking, that number is still well underrepresented to what the reality likely is.
This was an excellent interview. I found Ms. Buttons' presentation thoughtful and comprehensive. As an autistic woman myself, I appreciate her sharing her own experience. Many ASD folks are gender non-conforming because we see the world differently. And it can be very confusing for ASD girls at adolescence.
I relate strongly to what Christina describes here. I had a very difficult time in my teens, even attempting suicide at one point, and I think had this ideology been around then I would have jumped into it. I was later diagnosed with autism. The thing is if someone had said to me you can "feel" like a boy or a girl, I would have concluded that I must not be a girl as that statement is nonsensical to me. I cannot comprehend what it means to "feel" like a girl. I can see how easily other autistic kids would be swayed by this ideology and it scares me.
If you're a shallow thinker, you get to earn social credit by going along with a feel-good social justice narrative. If you're a thinker and see that vulnerable kids are being destroyed to feed a death cult, you have bullies standing over you ready to destroy your career. The only way to turn this around is give voice to the de-trans.
They're not shallow thinkers though. They do whatever is most efficient to get what is most valuable: Righteousness. To some degree everyone else is standing on a square wheel trying to push it forward by farting, and complaining that round wheels and axles and cars should be banned because if you use those, it is too easy to get from place to place. Yes the efficient people are hurting others, but if you get righteousness out of it, why care? The only reason we don't hurt others is because it costs righteousness. If you find a way to be the most moral while hurting others, then do it.
Her ability to reflect and critique her own beliefs is so impressive. This level of self awareness and critical thinking should be something society as a whole should strive to obtain
It's the profits. The medical industry loves money. Pharmaceutical companies and doctors that perform surgeries are worth billions a year. It's a lot easier to think your doing good things for people when your driving a Mercedes and parking it in you 20 million dollar mansion.

You can also see it as a collective psychosis. Because so many people say, I don't know much about it, but the specialists do. They are trained gender therapists who help people. The idea that body modification can help is too short-sighted. You can't make a man or a woman with hormones.
it was interesting when Christina mentioned the Civil Rights movement because earlier today I found this comment, which I think is very appropriate.... Scrolling through some comments about a mother in Georgia that lost her job because of some lies/smears by the alphabet groupies, one poster made the following point. The 1964 Civil Rights Act covers the rights of every human being. PERIOD. To reclassify some people as part of a protected group, IS discrimination by another means. State legislatures that have passed this nonsense are de facto breaking the law. FACT.
Even if it was life-saving 20 years ago, there are no checks and gatekeeping to differentiate social contagion from the rare few trans people. And the sunk cost fallacy of the patient and suggestibility of a therapist means many do it unnecessarily and don't regret it, because they can't afford to let themselves regret it. It invokes a modern-day lobotomy to treat hysteria pseudo-science kind of vibe.

In fact, a lot of surgeons will do a surgery based on the patient's request. I had a hemorrhoid repair done that, in retrospect, should not have been treated surgically. Nobody talked to me about alternative treatments, nobody talked to me about the after effects. The first time I had a bowel movement afterwards I thought I was going to die. When I talked to a nurse, she said "Yes, that is what everybody goes through". It would have been nice to know that in advance. A lot of surgeons are good with their hands and not good at talking. Often you can be better off talking to a "physicians assistant" who is good at talking, and who can make up for the surgeon's lack. Now, this is just lack of bedside manner on the part of the surgeon, not hospital policy, so it is not like the gender affirming care that basically institutionalizes bad medicine. But I think lack of talking about options is common in our medical system.
I've heard this and unfortunately I heard it is awful to go through. The Dr should have told you. Often, non surgical treatments don't work. Also. A physician assistant isn't really just an assistant to the doctor, it's actually a medical provider in their own right, they can see their own patients. They just often work with doctors and see patients in clinic in lieu of the doctor because they're cheaper and saves the doctors time. They're more like an associate than an 'assistant' (the name is misleading) They also assist with surgery but don't do it fully because they have less scope of practice. But the doctor should be able to explain things just as well, or even better than a PA since they took more schooling. But many just don't have the bedside manner.
I had a recent surgery and the surgeon was very good about explaining the risks and the potential long-term impact. It is difficult in that, unless it is an emergency, only the patient can make the decision. How can you decide if they don't explain everything? Its hard even when you do. I was fortunate and so far, I've had no complications or long term impact. But I went in knowing the risks. Your surgeon failed you and that is very frustrating.
Christina is such a lovely, highly intelligent and engaging interviewee. Amazing to listen to and so well informed and engaging with no hidden agenda. Wonderful.
I didn't find this interview dry at all. This is one of the best on the subject I've heard in a while. I felt the same way watching Chloe Cole's interview with Jordan Peterson. I hope I'm not offending, but one of the things I noticed is that with Christina and Chloe's interviews, it wasn't full of ad hominem attacks or emotionally over charged. I could see, Jessica, the emotion come through and I could see how you feel about this and I could clearly see the information and data you were presenting and it was excellent, true and poignant. Thank you for taking the time to sit down with Constantin and Francis. Excellent interview by the both of you, as well!
Can we be really clear that the recovered memory movement is very different to repressed memory. One is a planted idea, the other is a trauma response.
Her demeanor is a great counterpoint to the anger and agression you find on the other side. Although people with aspergers are generally considered unable to feel empathy for other people, she is interested in this subject because she sees the parallels in her own experience and doesn’t want to see others hurt. I also have just know realized that the gender doctors are deliberately taking advantage of the rise in autism to line their pockets by preying on autistic patients and convincing them they are trans, instead of just autistic. This is absolutely reprehensible.
It also started with the mass diagnosis of ADHD and various mental health illnesses related to normal childhood distress, learning disabilities in the 1980's. Now these same medicalized kids from 80's (probably many still taking prescriptions) are already indoctrinated to give away bodily autonomy to medical professionals. So trust the Doctor and hand over their kids. Would these kids be so open to all this medical intervention if their parents were more skeptical of doctors, bureaucracy, group movements?
[30:52] Eugenics lost its mass appeal about 80 years ago. It's supporters, however, have found ways to stealthily insert it into unrelated areas. Abortion and Transgender have allowed them to terminate and castrate "undesirables." The concept of eugenics on it's own is detestable to me. How it is being applied on unsuspecting victims is unacceptable.
I would just like to say that, aside from the content of this interview, I really like Christina's soft-spoken demeanour and the low-key way she presents herself. There are way too many loud, strident voices online, as if they believe that they have to almost yell to get their point across.
In the US things are more polarized. People on both sides of the divide always take maximalist positions and are not interested in discussing issues only in having their view prevail.
Another factor for autism is that it is not a mental illness and so psychiatrists often miss it or simply don't understand the complexity of the condition... And that it may be the root cause of any mental illness that does develop

These are all questions you should start asking yourself.

I have always thought that transitioning minors from one gender to another was wrong. I'm not saying the concept of a male brain in a female body or vice versa can't happen. I feel if it's possible for people to be gay, it's possible to be trans also. However, I feel there should be a lengthy psychological evaluation of anyone who thinks they might be trans before allowing surgeries to take place. With kids, especially teens, they tend to go through phases. Generally, if they have felt this way for a long time and then when they are legally allowed to make their own decisions, and years of psychological evaluations habe confirmed they really feel this way, then let them do the medical transition. But, I don't think this should be a decision that parents and doctors be allowed to make for a child who is not old enough to authorize the surgery themselves.
No. No evaluations. That will just screen out people who are not savvy and clever. Just make it the same as other cosmetic surgery. Pay for it yourself and 18+.
I have not finished the interview yet, but around minute 13 she speaks of the false recalled memories…. That part was hard to watch, especially if you are someone that has repressed traumatic events and recovered them later in life when the person was more capable to deal with such fragmentation within the psyche. With proof. Which is quite rare if you think about the responsibility real victims have in coming up with physical proof! Absurd requirement I agree with most everything else she talks about. There really was brief period of time when "therapists" who claimed to specialize in repressed memories gaslighted patients into believing they were abused. Then they charged an exorbitant amount of money for many therapy sessions. That's what she's referring to. No therapy magically pulls out repressed memories. Repressed traumatic memories are uncommon (the brain is typically wired to remember trauma forever. It's a survival mechanism, and when it goes into overdrive, it's called PTSD) and when they pop up, it's spontaneous. One day someone is walking their dog and smells an eerily familiar smell, etc.
The reason it hasn't and never will be in the USA is they become a never end stream of income. They will also have a need for pills and other treatments. Each person is literally worth millions $$
Christina speaks much slower than I'm used to in these shows, but I also speak slowly so I wonder if I'd sound like her if I were to talk on a podcast. She seems like a kindred spirit basically.

Exactly. This is one of the reasons Australian parents increasingly choose fee charging Roman Catholic schools. Some of the reading material children are forced to read in government primary schools is so graphic it cannot be shown by journalists on TV, even after 9pm.
So they're from the UK and the UK has actually started rolling back decisions and putting controls in. Don't forget the UK is gov funded health care and so it costs them money for each case and an 11000% increase in cost would be enough to open their eyes. In the US those same statistics mean that it's 11000% increase in profit for doctors and pharmaceuticals.
I wanted to be a boy from age 5. I dressed like a boy and had short hair. I had the perception that boys have a better life that i absorbed from my mother. She liked my brothers and not me or my sister. This feeling persisted until I became a teenager. I learned to accept being female and over time embraced my femininity. As an adult i realized my mom had issues and grew up to be well adjusted. Just imagine if i were born today 😢
The autism stats could well be an underestimate, certainly in the UK. We are garbage at diagnosing higher functioning autism, particularly in females. I only got diagnosed at 27 y/o after being previously laughed out of the room 🙄 if the trans stuff was being pushed as much when I was a kid, I would have probably been sucked into it as I struggled socialising with girls and wished I'd been born a boy! Now I'm very happy to be female (hormones/menstruation aside 😬😂)
Parental child abuse is common in the US. Yes, you can guide people to fictional narratives but that does not mean there are not real narratives that do happen.

I'm a gay psychology major. I should be the prime follower of this, but once you know how to read studies critically you understand that they simply do not have the data needed to turn American Children into guinea pigs like this. I'm don't really care if you wear a dress and make me call you mam. But I'll be damned if I left kids get wrapped up in this scientifically unfounded mess with out screaming from the roof tops that the research is not up to snuff, not even a little bit. Once againm Psychology studies are not the same thing as long term medical research. Dr. Chris Palmer of Harvard Medical School has a book out asserting that most mental disorders are because of mitochondrial disfunction in the brain. That it's a metabolic disorder of the brain. An extension of the general metabolic disfunction of society at large. I've never heard anyone mention this, but I'm wondering if the rampant gender dysphoria may be the result of our terrible eating habits and thus metabolic disfunction in the brain.

Licensed professionals are being stifled in places like the US and Canada! Licenses are at risk anytime a therapist appears to be working against the running political ideology. Certain counselors, LCSWs in particular, have been steeped in indoctrination throughout their education and they dare not step out of line, if they ever have the mind to.

My child Desisted after 3 years of social transition, Age 12-15. We literally had to protect her from being medicalized by Teachers and Therapists who are beholden to the Affirmation model in California. We’ve been through hell but our girl is finally safe.

In South Australia my 17 year old son was going to a psychologist for anxiety through my Doctors surgery. It was determined he was ADHD but was on the list for formal diagnosis. Separately our GP referred him to a Gender Doctor who after two 15 minute appointments had him on blockers and cross hormones. I found out 7 months later. It then took a further 6 months to get his formal ADHD diagnosis and those medications. I haven't seen or spoken to my son now 18 months because after researching and dealing with his lying I chose not to affirm. He then followed the creepy online advice to Ghost me. It has truely broken my heart and broken my family. Doctors, MP's, Health Minister Not interested.

That's heartbreaking. I'm sorry, I have been trying to wake people up for years. People need to ask why do doctors push this on young/vulnerable people so quickly and as in your case even when it has nothing to do with what the patient goes to see the GP for in the first place. This isn't medical staff doing what they think is right its because they are being pressured to hit certain numbers. The reason is plain as day its simply to dramatically collapse the world population by pushing gay agendas, as well as transing/sterilising as many young people as possible. This will obviously put the breeding population into a massive decline. You can choose yourself from the reasons they would want this - climate change and over population, AI being very close to doing every job better than humans and we are no longer needed or a reason you may think of yourself as they are many advantages to the elites for decreasing human numbers. I know this doesn't help your situation but it might help your child think more deeply about why he is being pushed into something that isn't even real in the first place.

Like other people, I noticed Ms. Buttons nervousness and thought it was because of lack of practice at public speaking. When I learned she had Asperger's I was very impressed at how well she did! I've known several people with Asperger's, one an outstanding software engineer, and she has much better speaking skills than any of them. That is one of the reasons you don't hear much about people on the autism spectrum, because they don't make great guests on talk shows. I thank you for having her on your show. She should go on more talk shows!
I agree, her speaking manner is exactly what we need in these discussions. I think more ASD people should be involved in these types of discussions and be in charge of resulting policy decisions. Unfortunately I think most people want to be infotained…they want the drama and heated discussions. Her “dry” style won’t get clicks.

But it should be required viewing for anyone in the medical profession and anyone who cares about what's being done to children in the name of social justice. Hats off to Christina, who appears to be not entirely comfortable being interviewed yet overcoming her discomfort, and to Konstantin and Francis for giving her a platform and trying to make her as comfortable as possible, so that people can hear the truth about what's going on.

Why does it take 4-8 years? Simple. That's when they realize that the interventions, trips to the doctors, and frequent complications associated with these treatments will never end. That's when they start to realize that the doctors really don't know what they're doing or how to fix the problems. Or that none of the things that are promised to be "fixed" with transitioning ever were fixed.
And they realise after all this torturous treatment, they are still the sex that was observed at birth but now they have a failing body instead of a healthy one.

Not always, sometimes it simply that you realize it didn't fix you on the inside. Even with "normal" cosmetic surgeries like nose jobs have a high regret rate in a few years. Because changing the outside won't change how you feel on the inside.
That's also when they realize they have been sterilized and can't create families of their own, and that they never really could give consent as children to these side effects.
And when the deteriorating effects of wrong sex hormones start. Young people have absolutely no concept of what to deal with healthwise when you get older.
Just thinking of the unnecessary scar tissue to deal with and the toll on your body if they get any kind of "top/bottom" surgery.

@@tomfrien I don't think it's monetary greed, for once. I think these people really do believe they are helping and, more importantly, they have a huge sense of righteousness that they do. It's about being on the "right side of history" for them. You will even find them using that phrase somewhat often. They want to be the ones who say "See, I was on board with the gender stuff FIRST, I was on the front lines helping while all the bigots naysayed and watched!" It's just wild the cognitive dissonance, how the very same people will say "It's ok if you can't figure out your college major, it's too much to ask of an 18 year old to make such a big choice and be right" and "Getting married too young is dangerous, you'll not now how to choose and might make a mistake." The difference here is that transitioning kids does, theoretically, give them the best chance to be a passable and indistinguishable member of the opposite sex and that's a big part of the rush and push. I think we can agree on that, that once a kid goes through puberty, the odds of becoming "a dude in a dress" instead of looking like an actual female are almost certain. But where the failing is, of course, is that kids don't know what they want and can't see long term consequences and effects. They don't know how people will actually perceive them, how it will not solve their issues, etc.
Great interview. As a teacher of Autistic children and kids with developmental and behavioral issues, I pretty much agree with everything she said. Over the last 10 years being “trans” has exploded in the Autistic community. I have never had so many students in my career that want to either socially or eventually physically transition. A lot of these kids are not even 100% sure what trans even is, but tik tok and social media have convinced them that they are trans. On the flip side, I have been seeing more and more students “snap out of it” so to speak. These kids all tried to “socially transition” and eventually figured it out for themselves. Life and society are confusing to these kids and all the lies in the media are not helping.

My wife is on the autism spectrum. She told me when we met that she is not like other women. Recently she told me exactly what this young woman said ie that she would have undergone the trans stuff if her teacher had told her to. When I was young my granny noticed that I had something wrong with my speech - I spoke in a monotone and I got training. I was later put on stage in front of lots of parents to recite a poem and demonstrate how wonderful my treatment was. I failed - but only just. The other girls mostly were using their arms and faces to demonstrate happiness and sadness.
If you watch destransitioner videos, you will see in the comments literally hundreds of women like your wife (and me) who are so thankful the trans movement wasn’t around when we were kids. It’s not rocket science. We know we’re not like them - the other girls. A lot of us get on better with boys and men. And there is some detachment from one’s body inherent in Autism, often manifesting in the form of terrible proprioception.
WPATH hired Johns Hopkins to do a systematic review in the US and the results were recently discovered to have been withheld by WPATH due to them not liking the outcome.

I met someone I got close to over the past 8 months who also has some mental disabilities. This is individual was convinced to get trans surgery. Ultimately removing his scrotum.
I legit feel bad for this person as not only is this person still brainwashed into the ideology but I can imagine it would be devastating even if you did Force this person to recognize the truth. Not only can this person never put back what was lost.. but now he can't even leave their home state due to the need for chemicals to keep him alive.
The trans surgeries do nothing but leave devastation and ruin in their wake

The word ‘confusion’ should make an appearance here. Puberty is a traumatic time and unqualified ‘experts’ are utilising unproven protocol for $’s and ego.
The thing about it, is that puberty doesn't have to be a traumatic time. We're making it traumatic. Kids are losing a lot of what was previously seen as Rites of Passage. When I used to hang out with my friends, we would just go wherever. Mom didn't know where we were all the time.

I had a man I know tell me he caught his son on top of his much younger sister. She stopped talking. Abuse of children causes many, many different psychological reactions. In the US they cover this up because abuse of children is a common part of the culture today. They would have to acknowledge the various conditions resulting from that instead of saying people are born this way or it's some big mystery. Human behavior is very predictable.
When a health crisis becomes political it's never going to end well. I'm so glad that Ms Buttons is brave enough to talk about it. The general population are so snowballed by this that to even suggest there's a problem is to incite hatred. It's pretty damn scatu actually.

I’m 31 years old but, when I was a child I thought I was a boy and even stated it to adults. Further, I was diagnosed with Autism at around age 7, it was called “Aspergers”, back then.

I'm so glad experts are coming forward and speaking about these issues. I remember the recovered memory issue back in the 80s and 90s and it was indeed terrible. It's a good allegory, though. It's also really gratifying that you've invited someone with Asperger’s to speak, I was married to someone with Asperger’s and he was always so frustrated when he would try to get something across at work or in discussions and people would interrupt him and not let him speak fully. He turned to blogging (in the 90s) because he could get his thoughts down and organized without the pressure of delivering it at a certain pace, and of course was well received there.

I would bet that the percentage of Autistic Females is actually MUCH greater than reported, or even suspected. Because Autism presents differently in Females as opposed to Males, the Psychiatric community has only recently started to acknowledge the disorder in Females and gathering data to get a better understanding of it. Unfortunately, as a result, there's still a large number of Females that go undiagnosed, or are diagnosed later in life typically from the patients doing their own research and seeking out a diagnosis. And even then, a lot of Women struggle to get that diagnosis. That being said, with the already unusually high rate of Autistic Females being labeled as Trans, statistically speaking, that number is still well underrepresented to what the reality likely is.
This was an excellent interview. I found Ms. Buttons' presentation thoughtful and comprehensive. As an autistic woman myself, I appreciate her sharing her own experience. Many ASD folks are gender non-conforming because we see the world differently. And it can be very confusing for ASD girls at adolescence.
I relate strongly to what Christina describes here. I had a very difficult time in my teens, even attempting suicide at one point, and I think had this ideology been around then I would have jumped into it. I was later diagnosed with autism. The thing is if someone had said to me you can "feel" like a boy or a girl, I would have concluded that I must not be a girl as that statement is nonsensical to me. I cannot comprehend what it means to "feel" like a girl. I can see how easily other autistic kids would be swayed by this ideology and it scares me.

They're not shallow thinkers though. They do whatever is most efficient to get what is most valuable: Righteousness. To some degree everyone else is standing on a square wheel trying to push it forward by farting, and complaining that round wheels and axles and cars should be banned because if you use those, it is too easy to get from place to place. Yes the efficient people are hurting others, but if you get righteousness out of it, why care? The only reason we don't hurt others is because it costs righteousness. If you find a way to be the most moral while hurting others, then do it.
Her ability to reflect and critique her own beliefs is so impressive. This level of self awareness and critical thinking should be something society as a whole should strive to obtain
It's the profits. The medical industry loves money. Pharmaceutical companies and doctors that perform surgeries are worth billions a year. It's a lot easier to think your doing good things for people when your driving a Mercedes and parking it in you 20 million dollar mansion.
They are creating a literal lifetime customer. Stop taking the chemicals and the unnatural sexual changes start to retreat.

@@alarsonious2071 I was referring to your comment about profits. I do see it as ideological as well. For example in at least one state failure to affirm carries a ten year jail sentence. This applies to parents, doctors and psychologists. We tend to be at least ten years behind Europe and the US in social matters.
I do believe the alpha generation will end this. We have school uniforms like the UK. While the highschool zoomer girls are demanding to wear trousers like boys. The 4-6 year old alpha girls who are supposed to wear shorts, have rebelled against the older girls by wearing skirts.

The 1964 Civil Rights Act covers the rights of every human being. PERIOD. To reclassify some people as part of a protected group, IS discrimination by another means. State legislatures that have passed this nonsense are de facto breaking the law. FACT.

Even if it was life-saving 20 years ago, there are no checks and gatekeeping to differentiate social contagion from the rare few trans people. And the sunk cost fallacy of the patient and suggestibility of a therapist means many do it unnecessarily and don't regret it, because they can't afford to let themselves regret it. It invokes a modern-day lobotomy to treat hysteria pseudo-science kind of vibe.

In fact, a lot of surgeons will do a surgery based on the patient's request. I had a hemorrhoid repair done that, in retrospect, should not have been treated surgically. Nobody talked to me about alternative treatments, nobody talked to me about the after effects. The first time I had a bowel movement afterwards I thought I was going to die. When I talked to a nurse, she said "Yes, that is what everybody goes through". It would have been nice to know that in advance. A lot of surgeons are good with their hands and not good at talking. Often you can be better off talking to a "physicians assistant" who is good at talking, and who can make up for the surgeon's lack. Now, this is just lack of bedside manner on the part of the surgeon, not hospital policy, so it is not like the gender affirming care that basically institutionalizes bad medicine. But I think lack of talking about options is common in our medical system.
I've heard this and unfortunately I heard it is awful to go through. The Dr should have told you. Often, non surgical treatments don't work. Also. A physician assistant isn't really just an assistant to the doctor, it's actually a medical provider in their own right, they can see their own patients. They just often work with doctors and see patients in clinic in lieu of the doctor because they're cheaper and saves the doctors time. They're more like an associate than an 'assistant' (the name is misleading) They also assist with surgery but don't do it fully because they have less scope of practice. But the doctor should be able to explain things just as well, or even better than a PA since they took more schooling. But many just don't have the bedside manner.
I had a recent surgery and the surgeon was very good about explaining the risks and the potential long-term impact. It is difficult in that, unless it is an emergency, only the patient can make the decision. How can you decide if they don't explain everything? Its hard even when you do. I was fortunate and so far, I've had no complications or long term impact. But I went in knowing the risks. Your surgeon failed you and that is very frustrating.
Christina is such a lovely, highly intelligent and engaging interviewee. Amazing to listen to and so well informed and engaging with no hidden agenda. Wonderful.

I didn't find this interview dry at all. This is one of the best on the subject I've heard in a while. I felt the same way watching Chloe Cole's interview with Jordan Peterson. I hope I'm not offending, but one of the things I noticed is that with Christina and Chloe's interviews, it wasn't full of ad hominem attacks or emotionally over charged. I could see, Jessica, the emotion come through and I could see how you feel about this and I could clearly see the information and data you were presenting and it was excellent, true and poignant. Can we be really clear that the recovered memory movement is very different to repressed memory.
One is a planted idea, the other is a trauma response.
Her demeanor is a great counterpoint to the anger and agression you find on the other side. Although people with aspergers are generally considered unable to feel empathy for other people, she is interested in this subject because she sees the parallels in her own experience and doesn’t want to see others hurt.
I also have just know realized that the gender doctors are deliberately taking advantage of the rise in autism to line their pockets by preying on autistic patients and convincing them they are trans, instead of just autistic. This is absolutely reprehensible.

It also started with the mass diagnosis of ADHD and various mental health illnesses related to normal childhood distress, learning disabilities in the 1980's. Now these same medicalized kids from 80's (probably many still taking prescriptions) are already indoctrinated to give away bodily autonomy to medical professionals. So trust the Doctor and hand over their kids. Would these kids be so open to all this medical intervention if their parents were more skeptical of doctors, bureaucracy, group movements?

Eugenics lost its mass appeal about 80 years ago. It's supporters, however, have found ways to stealthily insert it into unrelated areas. Abortion and Transgender have allowed them to terminate and castrate "undesirables." The concept of eugenics on it's own is detestable to me. How it is being applied on unsuspecting victims is unacceptable.
I would just like to say that, aside from the content of this interview, I really like Christina's soft-spoken demeanour and the low-key way she presents herself. There are way too many loud, strident voices online, as if they believe that they have to almost yell to get their point across.
In the US things are more polarized. People on both sides of the divide always take maximalist positions and are not interested in discussing issues only in having their view prevail.
Not to mention the overwhelming and extremely obvious pitfalls of a for profit Healthcare system
In the UK the divide is massive too, but taxpayers were funding the transing. Once those taxpayers realised then the game was up.

It's amazing the horrible atrocities that people will commit when they believe they have the moral high ground. It's like people can't understand the phrase, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".
I have always thought that transitioning minors from one gender to another was wrong. I'm not saying the concept of a male brain in a female body or vice versa can't happen. I feel if it's possible for people to be gay, it's possible to be trans also.
However, I feel there should be a lengthy psychological evaluation of anyone who thinks they might be trans before allowing surgeries to take place. With kids, especially teens, they tend to go through phases.
Generally, if they have felt this way for a long time and then when they are legally allowed to make their own decisions, and years of psychological evaluations habe confirmed they really feel this way, then let them do the medical transition. But, I don't think this should be a decision that parents and doctors be allowed to make for a child who is not old enough to authorize the surgery themselves.
No. No evaluations. That will just screen out people who are not savvy and clever. Just make it the same as other cosmetic surgery. Pay for it yourself and 18+.

I have not finished the interview yet, but around minute 13 she speaks of the false recalled memories…. That part was hard to watch, especially if you are someone that has repressed traumatic events and recovered them later in life when the person was more capable to deal with such fragmentation within the psyche. With proof. Which is quite rare if you think about the responsibility real victims have in coming up with physical proof! Absurd requirement
I agree with most everything else she talks about. I am sure in time life experience and obvious interest and dedication to truth is going to unfold the right experiences about the repressed memories in real cases. some truths don’t need defending for long

There really was brief period of time when "therapists" who claimed to specialize in repressed memories gaslighted patients into believing they were abused. Then they charged an exorbitant amount of money for many therapy sessions. That's what she's referring to.
No therapy magically pulls out repressed memories. Repressed traumatic memories are uncommon (the brain is typically wired to remember trauma forever. It's a survival mechanism, and when it goes into overdrive, it's called PTSD) and when they pop up, it's spontaneous. One day someone is walking their dog and smells an eerily familiar smell, etc.
The reason it hasn't and never will be in the USA is they become a never end stream of income. They will also have a need for pills and other treatments. Each person is literally worth millions $$
Christina speaks much slower than I'm used to in these shows, but I also speak slowly so I wonder if I'd sound like her if I were to talk on a podcast. She seems like a kindred spirit basically.

Exactly. This is one of the reasons Australian parents increasingly choose fee charging Roman Catholic schools. Some of the reading material children are forced to read in government primary schools is so graphic it cannot be shown by journalists on TV, even after 9pm.

So they're from the UK and the UK has actually started rolling back decisions and putting controls in. Don't forget the UK is gov funded health care and so it costs them money for each case and an 11000% increase in cost would be enough to open their eyes. In the US those same statistics mean that it's 11000% increase in profit for doctors and pharmaceuticals.

I wanted to be a boy from age 5. I dressed like a boy and had short hair. I had the perception that boys have a better life that i absorbed from my mother. She liked my brothers and not me or my sister. This feeling persisted until I became a teenager. I learned to accept being female and over time embraced my femininity. As an adult i realized my mom had issues and grew up to be well adjusted. Just imagine if i were born today 😢

The autism stats could well be an underestimate, certainly in the UK. We are garbage at diagnosing higher functioning autism, particularly in females. I only got diagnosed at 27 y/o after being previously laughed out of the room 🙄 if the trans stuff was being pushed as much when I was a kid, I would have probably been sucked into it as I struggled socialising with girls and wished I'd been born a boy! Now I'm very happy to be female (hormones/menstruation aside 😬😂)

I'm a gay psychology major. I should be the prime follower of this, but once you know how to read studies critically you understand that they simply do not have the data needed to turn American Children into guinea pigs like this. I'm don't really care if you wear a dress and make me call you mam. But I'll be damned if I left kids get wrapped up in this scientifically unfounded mess with out screaming from the roof tops that the research is not up to snuff, not even a little bit. Once againm Psychology studies are not the same thing as long term medical research. All we have are psychological studies that saying if you call people what they want to be called they'll be happy, duh. I would be flabbergasted if a medical researcher of puberty blockers would give them to their child.
Medicine is a business, and as we all know "the customer is always right". (By comparison, nursing is a "service" industry). The real question is "Why are men with breasts invulnerable to social media?"

Dr. Chris Palmer of Harvard Medical School has a book out asserting that most mental disorders are because of mitochondrial disfunction in the brain. That it's a metabolic disorder of the brain. An extension of the general metabolic disfunction of society at large. I've never heard anyone mention this, but I'm wondering if the rampant gender dysphoria may be the result of our terrible eating habits and thus metabolic disfunction in the brain.

Licensed professionals are being stifled in places like the US and Canada! Licenses are at risk anytime a therapist appears to be working against the running political ideology. Certain counselors, LCSWs in particular, have been steeped in indoctrination throughout their education and they dare not step out of line, if they ever have the mind to.
We will look back at this stuff in 20-30 years from now with the same sentiment that we look at "how could someone have performed a lobotomy on someone" ...
Or electric shock therapy!
