Compassion means "to feel with." If a puppy gets hurt, you feel bad, because a part of you instinctively puts yourself in that puppy's head,
imagining how it felt. That's how compassion works. So, if you can't put yourself in a "trans" person's shoes, someone who's a particular gender, and wants to be the other, then do not pretend that this is all about compassion.
I am compassionate with these people. I really am. I want them to be able to live their lives happily. I want society to move forward, we got bigger things to worry about. I just disagree with their methods (hormone replacement, specially for children), their goofy pronouns, and all the poorly thought out ideological bagge that comes with being a "liberal trans person."

@@ldan90v10Nah, it's not a discussion about "transness". Everyone accepts that there are trans people. What many do not accept is that some demand that you have to accept for a fact that they are of the sex of which they are not biologically. They differentiate between sex and gender but are not willing to use different terms than man and woman which are very old and based on biological sex not gender. So why confuse these terms and mess up existing categories? There would be no problem with trans if they just went with the new category of trans-man and trans-woman. Then we could discuss if trans-women would be allowed to use women dress rooms or not and we would not have to introduce new terms for existing categories, like "cis"-man/woman.

@@swaeyl3883 what do you mean "Everyone accepts that there are trans people"? This is just clearly not the case. There is so much malice and misrepresentation - the proof being this video - and I'm not even talking about violence against transpeople... You might accept it, but what is your acceptance worth if you refuse to honestly engage with the topic.
And how again is the discussion we are having "not a discussion about "transness""?
When a transperson wants to be identified as a member of their gender, the question is not about what the biological definition of the associated sex is (this, as you know, is a really easy to answer question [it is not btw]), but what the society wants to comprise under the terms "woman" and "man", as we use them colloquially. If you define them over biological sex, you are intentionally excluding trans people and I would argue that this requires at least a good reason.

The two phenotypes have different mating strategies. One phenotype is classical masculine, they chase away and “fight” other males, they’re brightly colored and flashy. While the other phenotype presents like a female of the species with muted colors and smaller in size. When the males are battling it out for territory, the smaller phenotype sneaks in and mates with the female laying eggs. Its an actual know biological phenomenon, “the sneaky f-er strategy”. This is what male feminists are doing. They are often the ones who do all the awful things that get laid on the classical male stereotype. I always found that weird because those guys don’t need to pull sneaky crap. So, if you have a make friend in your life who wants to be a cry shoulder, I would be careful around him.

It's obviously worked out for him that he and his wife are a bit atypical for their sex and so they are kinda similar, but positive masculinity is a good thing, and a generally desirable trait.
Most women I've spoken to want a man that is strong, confident, protecting, and capable, and those are all compatible with being loving, emotionally supportive, and generally not being an asshole. I am a woman. I am not a man. I cannot possibly know what it is like to “feel” like a man. I just can’t. If I say I feel more “masculine” that is a subjective statement based off of characteristics we have put into the “male” category. For me, as a woman who was a bit of a tomboy and still has elements of that about me, what I’m really saying is I don’t “feel” like a girly girl. I don’t find myself interested in or wanting to emulate that very soft, ultra femininity that I am associating that “feeling” with. But I don’t even know what it is to be another woman so how do I know that those women I think are “girly girls” feel any more or less “feminine” than I do? We are just outwardly expressing our femininity differently. But we are both still women and can only ever experience what it is to be a woman and never what it is to experience being a man. Any trans identifying person, or anyone who insists gender is “fluid” is, at the end of the day, spouting religious-esque gibberish. You can only feel like yourself. And if you are biologically female, that will inform how you experience yourself. And the same for males. To say gender is “fluid” is meaningless. Since a man cannot know what it is to be female or a female to be like a male, how can any human possibly embody some sort of middle area where it’s some percentage their biological sex and some percentage the sex they cannot have any real knowledge of whatsoever? It is all inane. It’s all nonsense. They’re talking about some sort of gendered soul and they are giving that soul vague and abstruse characteristics that come straight from their imaginations and nowhere else. No one really cares how you dress or walk or talk or what not. But stop trying to force all of us to play along with some asinine LARPing game you’ve got going on in your head.

You are absolute right. I for myself am so over those points about feelings, masculinity, feminity and so on: It all comes down to that you have only ONE (natural) strategy to potentially reproduce. You can either be the part who is (potentially) able to fertilize or to (potentially) be impregnated and gestate. Your whole body evolved around that strategy and these material facts have HUGE impacts on your body, your behaviour and also social implications. Which does not mean that everybody is the same or effected in the same way by their sex but both are quite distinguishable, in every place, time or even species. How you feel about your sex doesn't have any impact on your sex, nor do cosmetic surgeries have. Of course everybody is free to cosplay, to immitate,to perform stereotypes (of their sex or cross sex) but to make the claim that those feelings and/or performances make you of the other (or non) sex class is just nuts. And pretty offensive.

I agree with you 100%. But I also hope that you continue healing from this tragedy so that you feel safer in more places. violence is the nasty gift that keeps giving more nasty gifts.… Because the memory lingers on. There are therapies that help remove traumatic reactions to triggers. I have benefited a lot from one of these therapies. it was a blend of EMDR and thought field therapy and prayer, and now I don't have deep stress reactions to the triggers. I don't recall what the current statistics are, but when I was in nursing school during the psych lecture we were taught that one and 10 women were victims of sexual assault. I Remember Counting the number of people in my class which were nearly all women, and then counting The number of women that stayed after to talk to the professor about their sexual assault stories. And it was about 10% of the class. So any time you are at the gym in the ladies locker room, that same statistic is probably true. All the more reason to let the women's locker room be the women's locker room and ONLY that.

To be fair, people are discussing that and have been. I’m not trying to be a jerk, but I don’t really follow these discussions very much and even I know they are being had. Case in point, and I forget the female swimmers name, but when the collegiate biological male swimmer was “trans”(and I use wires because at the time there was no surgery)and competing against women there were some who spoke out about that. And very vocally. That’s just one example, and this female who spoke out even went and testified to congress or some hearing and was on the JRE podcast. It was not a small thing. There are many of these discussions being had, all over. It’s a valid point and one that should be taken seriously, because there are men out there who are and have been abusing the trans movement for that specific purpose. I don’t know how many or the stats, but it’s happened. But the discussion is there and being had on all levels.

@@georgen5882 - resolutions are being made at the grassroots level that will be forwarded to state party conventions on this topic. And hopefully the right lawmakers are in place to put a stop to this abuse. my personal take that gender dysphoria is a mental disorder that shouldn't be pandered to, and the same way that I don't reinforce hallucinations in patients. Reality is usually the best solution to problems understanding reality. But if we continue to have this trans movement, then there needs to be a way to group the athletes more fairly, like handicapping horses in the races, or putting fighters into different weight classes. Because a trans man (female) Competing against a trans woman (male), is also at a disadvantage. frankly, I don't even like to use terms like trans man because it's just such a dishonest thing to say. she is a female. Very messed up female, granted, but she's not a man and never will be. And vice versa. I would love to replace the trans persons radical self rejection with positive embrace and ownership of their own true biology, Instead of living a lie because they are confused.

Saying "the trans activitist idioligy is saying i am a women makes them a woman" is a fallacy a hasty generalisation fallacy and that is not how a trans activist or the law defines it. Self-identification is not just about saying "I am a woman" . For instance. by definition trans acknowledges there is a difference between sex and gender.

Most of the discussion was Tom Bilyue stating that he might be misunderstood. I prefer that people just get to the point of things. Feelings are subjective, facts (science) are objective. We are made of both, but cannot allow ourselves to be ruled and governed by the feeling brain....what a mess we'd all be in and it seems that that is exactly where we are headed.
