A Chinese-owned supermarket in Nigeria's capital Abuja has been shut by the authorities over allegations that it denied entry to African shoppers. The supermarket in Abuja allegedly only permitted people of “Chinese descent” to enter its premises. The supermarket is located in a building that is run by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The closure of the supermarket came after massive outrage among Nigerians after some locals shared experiences of being denied entry into the store for not being Chinese. The Chinese store has now been closed until the owner testifies to the Nigerian consumer watchdog. China has been notorious for its racism against Africans, with reports suggesting that racism against Africans on Chinese social media was at an all-time high.

You mean we refuse to be slaves because we werent working on it and being paid and the owners refused to pay us after emancipation. Chinese and Indians together make up less than 3% of Jamaica population and there are public beaches not just partially private beaches in Jamaica. The last time Chinese tried to be racist to Jamaicans they were chased out of Jamaica and banned from migrating to there by the Africans.

I'm carribean and European. In my own experience, the Chinese diaspora in the carribean is very comfortable with being extremely racist and insular. Ever since the Chinese government started investing in my parents' country, there has been an influx of Chinese shop owners who only serve other Chinese people. They even discriminate carribeans of Chinese descend. The price former colonies are willing to pay in order to not have to rely on the West, is too high.

Well, I have to say, a lot of Africans I've seen over the years are very dismissive of Black Americans. I live in Texas and occasionally come across Africans. Most of the time I come across a Male they will acknowledge me just like any other person. But never has an African woman reciprocated in kind a greeting from me. Matter of fact, my brother's best friend is Nigerian and he's always complaining about his experiences with African females. In Italy's economy, Chinese invest heavily. Lack of enforced employment regulations in a country are to blame for such biased employment schemes. Moreso in Nigeria and across Africa, where governments themselves are incapable of creating less than 2% of the already terribly low employment rates.
The Chinese businessmen deserve due process by the values of Nigerian law.
People, especially the working class of certain nations nowadays demonstrate to be nothing but reduced to mere political and geopolitical tools and pawns, unbeknownst to them, that it's to their own detriment soon or later.
That's right respect to the Nigerians
How are they in Africa opening up a business, but denying Africans entrance? Make it make sense.
This is why it is important for Africans to continue to focus on Agriculture and education, so we can continue to empower future generations. Most of all, so we can eat fresh food vs plastic foods. Leave people who do not like our pigmentation alone and keep them out of our countries… Standing with Nigeria
Unfortunately we have a lot of racism here in America as well. But of course this mostly people from deep red states.

We really need to make this happen not just in Africa but America too. Stop eating what they sell us in grocery stores its almost like a form of control. The stuff is no good and we really don’t have to eat or buy it.
We can all set up a veggie or fruit that we grow and exchange it with each other. That way everybody eats!

As a Black American I would NEVER choose to patronize a Chinese store on the continent of Africa. I can get that stuff in the US, and often I choose not to support then here due to the racism.
no one cares if u patronize it or not. immigrant communities normally open stores so ppl from their communities can shop there for things that they can’t get in other stores in that country. you are in no way their target demographic
@@varo9491That's not true. At all. But in this case the Chinese are building modern infrastructure. Maybe the workers need their own space and have had problems with locals. The Nigerian government and sensible Nigerians want their country developed and the Chinese are currently instrumental in doing so.

@@varo9491 Lots of their restaurants, nail salons, massage parlours are serving communities in general, quite often with little to no Chinese people. Of course in their ChinaTowns it's mostly serving within themselves.

Their behavior is nothing new. They bold asf though, in Africa? Really? That supermarket should never be allowed to reopen and the owners deported and banned from Africa.
I inspected a vessel full of Chinese crew here in Nigeria. Damn that was the first time i ever saw and felt how racism is. And i understood more why black footballers leave the field when racially abused. These Chinese crew said to us blacks aren't allowed into the vessel, so we should sit on the deck. I had to burst in with my 2 colleagues and we exchanged insults. I said to them this is my country. At the end of the day they apologized but the damage already done.
That shyt was painful and brought tears to my eyes. It hurts, you won't know till it happens to you. It got into my head that i started looking at my skin and was just seeing the difference between both skins. I was speechless and it really hit me hard.
I again faced few but i learned from the first experience. And i put them in their place.
