I have a 2016 1.6 kia soul . I gad a P050A code . New air sensor . Pcv valve and cleaned the throttle body. No fix . 35,000 miles. Last thing I did was the Sparkplugs. That fixed the cold start issue. Runs like new again . Oh 2 oil changes in 4 weeks to nake sure all is good . 😊 Engine light is off now .
Ok this in my other comments fix some. It had a rough idle. Still getting that 30 mpg . So I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery . Turning the key on for 15 minutes to discharge the computer . Reconnect ,turn key on for 15 seconds. Turn it off then Restarted the car. It reset and back in working order again.
Random side note...on the 2.0 Kia soul engine ...from line to line on the dipstick is 2oz so if you count 8 lines from where you see oil on tbe dipstick to tbe fill line you need to add 16oz of oil 🙃
Change Kia engine oil and engine oil filter every 3K miles. These engines will begin burning oil excessively over 3K miles. 5K miles is too long oil change. Use Valvoline Protect and Restore full synthetic engine oil and Wix XP oil filters for the best cleaning, filtering and lubrication. IF YOU ONLY DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE PRIMARILY IN TOWN WITH LITTLE TO NO EXTENDED HIGHWAY DRIVING - Change the engine oil and filter at 1500 miles or when the oil turns dark - not black - but it is visibility dark on the DIPSTICK. You check engine oil with the dipstick - it is not referred to as the oil level indicator. Use good quality fuel and always use super unleaded. Seafoam High Mileage fuel additive every 3rd fuel fill up will keep your fuel system clean. Put the additive in the tank before you fill up. Check the engine oil level frequently. Every fill up or every other fill up with fuel. These engines will use oil. I have owned 5 Kia's in 15 years - they use or burn oil - 5K is too long on an oil change with these engines - have the transmission oil changed every 30K miles as well. These cars are very easy to maintain - but if you don't perform regular maintenance like oil changes then you likely will not make 100K without issues.
@@MentorMel now I'm stuck at home this week, apparently the oil drained out while I was parked at an event even after I topped the oil the day before. Made it to two blocks from home when it stalled out. It's probably done.

SUCCESS!! You rock!
Great job Mel!!!
Thanks Ken!
I subscribed. Forgot to do that .😊 Next is the Seafoam treatment to clean out the valves.
Did you do a full blown intake clean or just pour it into the gas tank ??

Awesome! That's the cars equivalent of unplugging a computer and plugging it back in lol. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I just bought a 2020 with nearly 80K miles and it takes about a quart a week. Ugh.
Yikes! Try an engine flush and see if that helps. Wishing you the best!
Would you recommend Seafoam?@@MentorMel

It sounds like it. Once the engine seizes, it's pretty much done.
Install a catch-can !!! This is for any GDI engine, not just Kia
I need to do more research on it but it's on my list for sure!
