    What other GTO videos do you want to see? Reply to this comment so they are easier to find when Steve needs to check for them.

      What speakers can we use in the GTOs with a 4ohm Head unit? Wouldn't we need 8 ohm speakers the way there wired?

      I have a 2004 got and want to get the 2006 gto rear bumper can i get an axle back with a mid pipe or do i have to go with a catback?

      I'll have to research the speaker question, but the exhaust is going to depend on how the aftermarket exhaust is set up. However, as far as I can tell, it looks like the 04 is completely different after the manifold, but I'm not familiar with the exhaust on the 04 beyond what I just looked up, so check the GTO forums and see if anyone has done that already.

      @@CarsSimplified Where can I get the tools that you used in this video to remove my factory stereo? I'm buying a OEM replacement from a guy who is parting out his GTO. Thanks for the video!

    What's the max size head unit that can be installed on the GTO? Wondering if I can install an 8" unit on there? I've only seen 7" with the exception of one that's was 8"?

    I have the two tools as shown on your video but the radio does not come out. The two “tools” keep slipping out and the radio does not move. Now what do I do?😮

    Have you found the site for the tool to pull the radio out yet?

    Were you by any chance able to fix your stereo. The reason I ask is because I've had my GTO since 06 and the radio just started screwing up bunch of different noises I don't know if it's old or the fact that maybe something brokencyde I don't know but instead of buying a new one or used one shall I say I'd like to keep the one that came with the car but I don't know how to fix the radio

    • @CarsSimplified

      I haven't fixed it yet, but it sounds like yours did the same thing mine did if it's doing that for CDs. I took it apart right after I filmed the removal video, realized it wasn't going to be a quick fix, and shelved the project for another time. I still intend to fix it, though!

      Not yet; I keep forgetting about the radio because I haven't been driving the car. Definitely a good snow day project!

      Apologies for the delay, I was trying to find it and got side-tracked when the first comment was posted. It was some obscure specialty site I need to find again. I'll look for it again tonight.

    intend to just buy a unit out of a junkyard and slide it back in. is it that earsy?

    • @CarsSimplified
      @CarsSimplified  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven't confirmed it myself, but I've heard there is a VIN lock on them, and when the VIN on the radio doesn't match the VIN in the body control module, it either has reduced functionality or doesn't work at all. I don't know if the VIN on the radio unit can be reprogrammed.
