    Loosen the side screws on the brackets and pull the head unit way forward, you have it set in way to far back.

    I tell you what, Mix 106.3 FM that you were tuned to is a bloody good radio station - my dad’s from Canberra and his brother still lives there in Monash and he listens to it. I often listen to it on iHeartRadio because the music they play is so good

      Yeah it’s not a bad station, I think it’s a different place though as I’m not in Canberra or Monash but I believe it’s by the same company so all the songs are the same haha, so yeah it’s a good station 👍

    Hi James, I’ve just purchased an atoto a6 standard entertainment unit to be fitted in a vz 2005 adventra. I also purchased a vz head unit installation kit on eBay but noticed there isn’t any steering control wires to connect for the wheel buttons to work. I may have to return i the kit and purchase the same kit you used but I’m not sure which patch lead to buy? Is it a type c patch lead I need? I was going to let the auto elec sort it all out but watching your comprehensive video has given me the confidence to attempt installing the unit myself so thanks very much for sharing

    • @JamesMayer125
      @JamesMayer125  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. Unfortunately I'm not too sure about the head unit. I would just assume the normal patch lead would work but it would differ on the type of wires to cut. It will be best to contact the supplier to see what they say about the patch lead. Hope this helps. Send me another message of you need any more help :)

    • @JamesMayer125
      @JamesMayer125  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Yes it's always better to go the plug and play way. You can chop into the loom but you'll need a wiring diagram and whatnot but it won't be easy to swap it out if you ever need to. The plug isn't too expensive and saves you alot of headache if something happens

    • @JamesMayer125
      @JamesMayer125  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, at this stage I won’t be doing another video on my car for a while (or atleast around the centre console, but to take it out, you pop open the side pieces near the gear knob, they are just clips (don’t worry you won’t break them) then once they are removed you can see some screws near the gear knob and just start removing screws and pieces until you get to what your looking for. The air con switches all stay on there Pannel, you just have to disconnect the plugs, hope this helps, feel free to message me on any social media if you need a hand with anything else! 😊

      Hi there. Not too sure on the issue myself. Could be a broken mechanism that brings the antenna down or maybe it’s got a bend or something in it to prevent it from going down. I don’t really see how the head unit could be preventing it cause I believe that is controlled by the car.

    • @JamesMayer125
      @JamesMayer125  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mopar 440 ah ok, that’s a tricky one, as it could be a number of things, you will have a steering wheel control wire as almost all head units nowadays do but I think some of them can be different colours depending on the brand so have a look at your wire guide on the box of the head unit. It could also be a bad steering control box, I had this problem with mine but I just returned it and got a new one and it now works perfectly. So try to find the SWC wire and call the Aerpro company as they can run you through a troubleshooting guide that will reset the box and if all else fails try to get another one. I hope this helps, feel free to comment again or DM me on Instagram or Twitter for more help :)
