Hey Jesse! This was a Patreon only show at The Whiskey. The guy who organized it is a big Metallica fan, so they played this as the encore for him. They had played like an hour and 40 minute, 20+ song set, were completely exhausted (look at Ale) and still CRUSHED this 7 minute song! They were so tired after that they had to rest for half an hour before they came back out for a meet and greet. F-ing Legendary!
Yeah, I remember them saying they all collapsed on the green room couch, after the show. They have the drive, and the heart, to succeed in this industry, and they prove it, every time they take the stage.
This was an encore performance after playing for 2 hrs. Ale is completely spent, but you could never tell. These girls are AMAZING!!
I believe this was the last song they played in the encore. You can tell Ale is exhausted by the way she is moving but they stilled killed it. Great reaction.
I stumbled upon their 2017 Ted X video a few years ago, and after seeing them duet on Survive, and kick ass on stage at such a young age, I was Hooked hard. I went looking, and found them covering Atlas Rise. I learned about them only doing this for a special fan, at this 2 hour private show and I was blown away. It SOLD me, sealed the deal, and haven't looked back since! They have another video of it in the Cave. Other than that, these are the only times they have played it publicly, that I know of. It's rare, and is a treat. I have seen them many times live, became a Patron, and not a single day goes by, without a listen, a watch, or a mention or a share. I am a Fan. I found you because of them. I found FTF because of you. I donated for them, and requested this song for all of us. Thank you for that Jesse! 🤘❤🔥🤘

IIRC, it had been several years since they had played this and they practiced it for something like 3 or 4 days before this concert so they could present it on this special occasion... the talent to be able to pick something like this back up after so much time having passed and knock it completely out of the stadium is just... This was an epic concert. It was the memory of a lifetime being there.

This concert may be one of the last times that Dany played with the matt black manson guitar , before it was auctioned off .I'm not sure if it was to help fund their next album , but may be ! Any way , gutted that she doesn't play it anymore .They were made for each other .
I get it. But now, she has a custom Manson gifted to her by none other than Matt Bellamy In here favorite color and set up just for her! So now she has two custom guitars given to her from two of her idols.. That. Speaks a lot to how much their older peers think of them.

That's why our poor little Ale, what, only 13 at the time? Was so exhausted! You can see it in her face. But she still got the job done. These kids had, and still have a work ethic that put some grown folks to shame!

re Pau singing while drumming... A lot is made of limb independence for drummers: different tempos for legs, arms. Pau just adds diaphragm to those muscles that she can control independently.
I think I should go back and edit out the word "just" in my comment.
There was one reactor out there who was dismissive of Pau's singing while drumming. Thought it was no big deal. He did about a couple of reactions and moved on. He came across as arrogant to me.
Was that the reactor who said it was impossible to sing like that and drum at the same time? Said her voice was dubbed in. Haven't listened to his channel since.@@kevinmcfarlane2752

Love the reaction and the shout out to FTF. This performance has always impressed me Pau isn't just sitting in the pocket while drumming and singing, she's beating the s**t out of her kit and is still on key and on time. And Dany taking on 2 adult male guitarists three times her experience and doing one hell of a job. And as for Ale, so exhausted yet killing it like the true professional she is; all three are just so damn impressive and they're still having fun while doing it. This never gets old.
Maybe some time Freeze the Fall will open for The Warning. I'm sure TWA would give them a very warm welcome.
They really did play it in their style, but it's still heavy. No shortcuts, they even worked out how to split the vocals to get the effect that they wanted.

This was the closer of a 22 song set I'm amazed they still had enough energy to play it this good, but of course you have Dany = 2 men, Pau the portable nuclear reactor, and Ale the human metronome as Pau calls her "The Machine" .

This is the encore, after already playing for an hour and a half or two. Dani doesn't look tired at all. Looks like she could play thrash all night. Pure rocker.
I love this cover so much. On a colored song that heavily features dual guitar solos, the ability to fill the sound space with a single guitar is so impressive. When Metallica plays this live the lack of a background rhythm guitar is glaringly obvious, but Dany almost makes you forget about it.
"It sounds like a Warning song." OH yeah! This isn't Metalilica's song anymore! This is The Warning!
HUGE TW fanboy, but nah... this is 100% 'Tallica. Their Enter Sandman version does feel like an entirely different song though.

After this gig they were so tired they went back to the hotel room and crashed.
This was the pinnacle of the best night (besides my wedding night) of my life! I totally think this version is better than the original. I can't even listen to the whole original recording... Frankly, it's a class 'A' bore. The Warning bring the umph! Metallica probably intended, but just didn't pull off. At any rate; glad you liked it.
You don't have to listen to the song all the way through. Break it down all you want. We appreciate you evaluating the song and the performance. Your expertise and music insights are well done.
BTW: they did cover this song right after recording XXI Century Blood in 2015 and a few months prior to being the supporting band for the first Mother of All Rock Festival in Monterrey for Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Buckcherry, Vince Neal, Tesla. This would be their third time supporting Def Leppard as well. The paramedics had to be called to treat the girls for heat exhaustion afterward. Pau was carried off stage by Luis.
So, another proof that TW can make a Metelica song come alive.

Greetings, in that concert it was requested by the public. They had been playing for almost two hours and now imagine the fatigue and they still managed to play that song as if nothing was happening and the surprising thing about Pau is still singing and managing to release that song at his age, apart from Pau. She is a small girl, 1.55 cm oh 5.0 approximately. All three are incredible.
They always pull it off, doesn't matter what "it" is they get it done.
