Hey Guys! As others have said, to check out the performance of this at The Whiskey! Ale had her Spector and Dany was playing her Manson! It was a KILLER after a 22 song set. They were so exhausted they had to rest for half an hour until they could come back out for a meet and greet! They CRUSHED it!
Absolutely. They were completely spent during the after dinner. It was still wonderful to share a meal with them at the Rainbow, even though they were worn out.
@@roywall8169 Oh, I didn't know that they ate at the Rainbow in 2019 as well? Apart from that. They sound two years better at the Whisky ( _because they were_ ) but you can only actually see Dany perform because Pau is so far away ( _unless you count the shots of the top of her head_ ) and you just occasionally get a glims of Ale.
Ale (here 12 years old) got her first Spector at the age of 13 from a fan (himself a bass player) as a gift. For Ale, it was love after the first play. The rest is history.
every time i see these older videos i think " holy crap" can you imagine seeing these girls at a HS battle of the bands. people would be totally blown away and ask "what planet did they come from?" pure awesomeness coming from a 7th grader, HS freshman & Junior - every other band would have to concede or leave after this performance 🤣 Nice review guys.🤘
Most people suggest that. However, this version is still good and is what I would recommend if say you’ve watched the original Enter Sandman cover and then want to see how they improved over 3 years. There’s one reactor I’m aware of who did that.
In the WHiskey A-GO GO performance, not only is Alé using a Spector bass (not yet a 5 string), Dany is using a WoWa pedal in her leads, aka Kirk Hammett, who BTW, was heavily influenced by Michael Schenker of UFO.
On your own you should watch the 2019 version which was a live concert performance from a Whisky show, the last song in a 22 song set. No one was expecting them to play that, they did it as a surprise/favor for someone associated with the Whiskey. Someone can fill in the details but in my view sounded even better than this one. And Ale definitely had a Spector for that show.
Nice Reaction Guys They did an exceptional job on this song, That should be noted! Dany proved her Lead and Rhythm "Leaythm" Skills Great, Great Job. Pau's Drumming was World Class As Usual. And A Tired Ali carried them through with Top Notch Playing. How Can You Not Love The Warning...
"Holy crap this is a freakin freight train of sound" Holy crap thanks for reading my comment out loud! And yes it still is, even without a wah pedal. Great reaction!🤘
Would recommend reacting to all of the songs at Teatro Metropolitan. The sound quality and performance are so good, it would be worth it even for songs you've already looked at in prior reactions. It might be particularly interesting to compare the Queen of the Murder Scene songs you've done in the previous performance to compare how they sound a few years later. I believe they've released around 14 of the songs so far, so it might make a good series that you could work through. Have really enjoyed your reactions to the Warning so far, love to hear the parts you think are interesting as musicians and why.
If you do watch the version from the Whisky remember they had not played it in over 3 years and just did it that night as a birthday present to someone.
Ale has been a Spector Bass "featured artist" since she was 14 years old. When she was 15, Spector delivered her custom 5 string to her at the recording studio in New Jersey.
As others have said, check out their performance of this song at the Whiskey even if you don't film a reaction. The obvious huge improvement they make as musicians/performers between the two performances is amazing. Also, you know this is an older performance because Ale isn't taller than Dany yet and Ale isn't playing a Spector...both of which are really odd to see. Any reactions to The Warning are always appreciated and entertaining, so pick away. If you're looking for a new "up and coming" band to check out, I'll suggest Plush's newest single "Left Behind" since they were opening for The Warning earlier this year and are an awesome band as well.
The reverse shot is the wall of mirror they play in front of. Here is the concert where they played it for the club owner. th-cam.com/video/fhhG5EiFiyA/w-d-xo.html. Whiskey A Go Go.
I really like the raw, un-processed sound. Makes it a real live session. The bass Ale is playing was gifted to her by bass player Thomas Illgen. He also sent her a black glitter Spector a short time later. I do like the bright sound of this particular bass. I always thought it was a Spector. The little nuances they left out is their way of making the song their own. Dany likes to make her guitar work her own. You guys sound like you are transgenre.
When it comes to this cover, this version and the 2019 live performance at The Whisky are equally great (just my opinion). This was from 6 years ago, just before the release of their first LP. Dany 17, Pau 15, Alé 12. Though raw, this video is a prime example of showing how good they were early on and where they were headed. Also, if anyone really wants to see how good a guitar Dany really is, this cover is the best thing to show... especially for those who say she can't solo. I got a bold recommendation. You should do a reaction to their cover of "Enter Sandman", but doi it as a triple reaction. First, react to their original Sandman cover from 2014 that went viral and introduced the world to the ladies. Then react to the version they did with Alessia Cara for The Metallica Blacklist. Then finally react to the video of them doing it live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 20222. Three reactions, one video. Perfect way to see how they evolved with the song. I know that's a huge suggestion, but just think about it🤘⚡
As a Metallica fan since 1986 I like this version a little MORE then the original. "Lars is not the best drummer but he's the best drummer for Metallica" -Unknown
Nice Reaction Guys! If you want to see other covers they used to do, check out the concert they did for their classmates at their Catholic School in Monterrey in 2015. "The Warning Liceo de Monterrey Complete"
The whiskey is better. And if I’m not mistaken it was the last song of a long set and you can see how tired they were in Ale’s face if you pay attention. But they still kill this and it being a live performance it’s just that much better.
It would be worth watching you react to this song performed at the Whiskey A Go Go just to get your perspective on that performance versus this one. I think most of the warnings fanbase who are familiar with both would agree that the other performance is a step up from this one.
My go to for a Metallica cover by The Warning is the Whiskey A Go Go performance. I've gone back to it many times. This one however really slaps in a different way, in a good way. Ale's tone for sure and Pau's drumming seems more energetic in some way. Dany is just pushing through and attacking the guitar and I think her tone in the Whiskey performance is a lot better. Thanks for taking us in the wayback machine for this guys!
Love this one, and after the 2017 Ted talk hooked me, Atlas Rise sealed the deal. Sadly all my previous asks to you guys, was for the Whiskey a Go Go version. You need to see that one too Love in the cave, and live on a stage, are 2 different things.
Historically this performance was interesting especially if you’d discovered The Warning pre- first album (discounting the EP) because you could observe their progression from Sandman to more complex playing over a period of three years.
