This is a multi-step, detailed installation. We recommend watching the entire video before deciding to complete the installation yourself or bringing your motorcycle to a suspension shop.
The OEM ride is comfortable and plush on the streets, but as soon as the tires leave the asphalt, factory Ducati shocks and forks are incorrectly sprung and far too plush; bottoming out under a fully geared adventure rider on even minor whoops and bumps. In order to improve on the shortcomings of factory suspension and prepare our customers for adventure touring, Touratech is proud to offer our flagship suspension option, the extreme fork cartridge conversion kit.
Not just a change in spring rate, or a simple re-valve, this cartridge conversion completely transforms the front-end of your Ducati Desert X with all new damping characteristics that can't be achieved with the stock forks. If you are wanting to make your Desert X into the rally machine it was meant to be, look no further.
The Touratech kit is completely tunable with rebound, compression, and preload adjustments made from the top of the fork caps. No matter where your adventure takes you, you can be assured that our cartridge system is designed to go the distance and tackle any terrain you throw at it.

How do you get the bottom bolt out if it keep spinning? I followed your instructions to the letter, but the bolt and the assembly spin together inside, and I have no way to grab it from the inside any pointers?

We had to use an electric impact driver on ours to spin it fast enough that the bolt unscrewed. Not because it needed a bunch of torque, just to generate enough friction to remove the bolt.

Why do the forks have to be removed from the triples? It seems like all of this can be done leaving the fork tubes in the clamps?

It's difficult to properly empty and reset the oil height with the fork still mounted on the bike. You certainly can do it if you are experienced with rebuilding motorcycle forks and understand the risks of not having the correct oil level.

I see your bike is the RR22 paint model. ( black) How did you get the paint smooth after removing the stickers? I tried taking them off but they leave a raised part like it's under the clear coat ?

This bike is wrapped and I'm not sure if they did any special prep work to level out the panels. Good luck with your setup.
